I love working here. I’m new to Arizona and I felt completely at home when I started here. This team cares about the patients and residents, and I love interacting with them. Like any center, we have challenges that we need to overcome, and we work on them daily. Our team is committed to providing great care. We have awesome support from our Genesis family!

Really good, except a little slow on the response time once call button has been initiated. Otherwise everything is exceptional.

My grandfather was a resident of the La Estancia community. He ate hit dogs for most of his meals, and he got a haircut every Wednesday, and he mopped up at bingo on Tuesday and Saturdays. H e would come out of his room and listen to the piano being played on Sunday afternoons, and he would catch up on the gossip in the morning with his coffee and a special donut the kitchen would provide daily. He was able to enjoy his last year on this earth, and before I was able to get him here, each and every meal wad constant battle. His zest for living was gone when he lost my grandmother. With the kindness, and the community of friends he acquired, I got to see my grandfather live again. I can never repay the feeling of home La Estancia gave him, but I will start by outing forth a real effort and paying it forward to the residents still roaming these halls. This establishment holds a very special place in my heart and I am touched and overwhelmed when I think about the happiness that was brought back to my entire family as my grandpa thrived. Special thanks to the nursing team, Best in the BIZ

I absolutely love La Estancia. I've been a patient there several times. I don't go anywhere else for rehab. The staff is very good to me and the therapy department does a great job. This place is family to me. I know when I go there I am going to be taken care of.

This place smells like feces and death as soon as you walk in the door. Obviously understaffed since no one at front desk or at nurse station in the evening. There is no way they can provide proper care.

The best Nursing and Rehabilitation center I have ever dealt with. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially the admissions team, the manager made everything so easy, and was extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the healthcare system. I would recommend this facility to anyone needing rehabilitation or any other treatment they offer.

We are very pleased with the whole staff and the facility. The care that my husband received here after having a stroke, was loving caring attention to detail and of his needs. We were told at the begining of this journey he would not come home for a very long time. With the direction of his case worker Gil and Ms Brown allowing him to have home visits once a week made a big difference. So my deepest gratitude to everyone who has helped in this recovery process and continue to help people. La Estancia was awsome for us.

Filthy. Smell is overpowering. They're extremely understaffed (roughly 1 CNA/15-20 patients), mostly rude and impatient. As a result patients are over medicated and therefore bedridden. Food is acceptable; that's the most positive thing I can say about it. if you truly love your family member please reconsider. It will shorten their life expectancy. Physical therapy is a joke. This place should be reported to APS.

This was my dad's 2nd stay. He got very good care, as before with his prior stay everything was very nice. Everyone was always good when we asked for help, staff was always very attentive and patient with my dad. I would choose La Estancia again needed.

My adult son moved here approximately 3 months ago. He has cerebral palsy, nonverbal and quadriplegic. He came here on feeding tubes because of improper care from Pryor homes. Between the doctors, nurses and therapists he has gained approximately 15 lb! He is in Better Health that he's been in years. They are now working with him to get him off the feeding tube. He has not been this happy in many years. We both recommend this place 100%.

My night first night at this facility I was cared for by a registered nurse who was not nice to me. His body language, tone, and word choices all negative, while under his care until shift change the following morning. No compassion or concern for a man recovering from a broken leg. He's apparently disliking his job, or possibly over worked and it's very obvious. The hospital referred me to other facilities, and I decided to find my own facility and La Estancia was definitely a mistake.

I am a friend or relative of resident My fiancee had emergency surgery due to spinal stenosis. He needed to be in rehab for several weeks and is currently still in. He was living in Phoenix, and I was living in Florida. I flew in from Tampa not knowing where I was going to stay because of affordability. So, I just want to say thank you to the wonderful staff, especially the intake director, the Executive Director and the client Liaison. They accommodated my fiancee and I when we didn't see another way out. We are very pleased with the customer service and the therapy that he is receiving. You know we are only given one body so we must take care of it to the best of our ability. I feel so happy to know that he is in good hands.

My husband is 86 yrs old and was diagnoses with dementia more than 8 years ago. He was placed in LaEstancia for a 5 days Respite stay. He is mild mannered and pleasant. I brought toiletries, prescription medicine, and 5 changes of clothes including pants and tops, underpants, tee shirts, socks., etc. First, his name was entered into the computer backward and I was told there were no arrangements made for his admission. It took two hours before the mistake was discovered and he was admitted delaying my trip departure. Second, before the mistake was discovered, conversations boarding on rudeness from one of the nurses caused my husband to become agitated resulting in more delay while calming him down. Finally, upon returning to discharge my husband, I found him in the same clothes that he had on when he was admitted 5 days before. Not one of the outfits that I brought had been uses. None of the under garments, socks, or pajamas had been removed from the drawer. My husband had not been bathed. He was smiling when he saw me coming for him and reached out for a hug, My heart was broken. I called the Admitting Director the next day to see if she was aware of how my husband had been treated ( I spoke to the Nursing Director the day he was discharged) she said all she remembered was that my husband kept having to be redirected to his room. Needless to say, he will never have to go there again!

My aunt had to come here because she had a broken hip. The nurses took forever to answer a call light and bring her, her pain medication. I mean what kind of MEDICAL place doesn’t have proper working vital machines? In the middle of her getting her B/P checked the machine started to make a loud noise and rolling it out was even worse. Food was cold and bland with no flavor what so ever. Short staffed, her aid Miriam was very sweet very helpful everyone else was very busy over loaded with work. My aunt was there for almost a whole week and a half with no shower wouldn’t recommend anyone here. Therapy was awesome very polite and knowledgeable. Nursing on the other hand you can very much tell are over worked so sad for the patients.

My Father has been a resident at La Estancia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for two years next month. He and my entire family are extremely satisfied with the care that he has received during his time at the facility. He was originally admitted to La Estancia to have rehab and the rehab department did such a great job with him. He was very weak from a long hospital stay but they got him much stronger in a relatively short period time. I would like to thank Susan, Cari and Rebecca from therapy. He loved the facility and the staff so much that he decided to stay long term because he was unable to safely care for himself anymore. Chris the Administrator has been fantastic!! He always makes time for us and addresses any concerns we might have. Gil has also been a huge help during my Fathers stay at La Estancia. He helped my father get new glasses, teeth and hearing aids. Last but definitely not least I would like to thank the amazing nursing staff! Tammie the Director of nursing has such a caring heart, Rosie the Assistant Director checks on my Father all the time and the rest of the nursing staff always has my Fathers best interests at heart. I can’t name them all but I want to thank Mike, Matilda, Flavia, Mirriam, Nafia and Minal thank you for really caring about my Father! It feels so good to know that your loved one is being taken care of with the compassion that you amazing people show. I would recommend La Estancia to anyone who has a loved one that needs help at a difficult time in their life.

I came to La Estancia from a hospital in Lake Havasu. It wasn't my first choice because it was so far away from home, but the care was perfect. The nurses were always getting done what needed to be done. Ariana was my CNA and she was great company and you could tell she really cares about you, which can be hard to find. The food was outstanding. I don't remember everyone's names but they all took good care of me. Because of them, I was able to return home in just a week and a half. If I needed it, I would return to La Estancia again. Sincerely, JM Whitaker.

I am giving only 1 star only because I have to for an official post! My mom was at this facility after a car accident recently. She was left unattended after hitting the nurse call button on several occasions. She became worse after 5 days at this facility. My dad and I noticed she was becoming worse not better and kept asking for x-ray results of her chest. After several days, we were told she had a cracked sternum. We insisted she be taken by ambulance back to the hospital. The EMT said her blood pressure was very low once they arrived at the facility. When she got to the hospital, she was in ICU with a bowel obstruction (even though we had been telling the La Estancia staff) for days her abdomen was swelling more & more). Unfortunately, we lost my mom 2 days later. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND LA ESTANCIA, DUE TO LACK OF STAFF AND LACK OF CARING STAFF. THESE ARE LIVES AT STAKE! I hope you are shut down very soon before more lives are lost or at stake!

My father was in La Estancia a few months ago and his experience was absolutely the WORST. Even if they were understaffed, there us no excuse for not changing sheets for several days when he had bleeding and diarhhea. He was dropped twice while showering. Never go there again!!!

For some reason, my husband, who had a month left to live was sent there. On his final day of life, I came in to his room, he was bleeding profusely from the neck after being shaved, he had fallen, and he was in agony. Medication had been ordered at 12:30, he didn't receive it until 7pm, and only because I called for it myself. I had tried multiple times to get a hold of the director without any call back. I absolutely do not recommend this place for any lover one!

I would recommend this place to my family and friends. You are encouraged to build your strength so that you can be independent. I was here for five weeks after my hospital stay. I saw a Dr everyday, nurses took my vitals several times a day, my meds were dispensed throughout the day, and meals were served three times a day. I did not have an expectation that someone would treat me like I was in an all inclusive hotel. It does have cable, entertainment, wifi, and a beauty salon. If you are looking for a clean professionally run establishment check this site out.

As with any place there are both good and bad workers. So I will stick with the facts here. My 91 yr old grandmother was there for 12 days. It took them 9 days to get her medication doses correct, even after correcting them several times. Four times they overdosed her with adverse effects. They never got her food allergies or preferences correct, even though I corrected them every day (even speaking directly with the kitchen staff). Therefore my grandmother wasn't eating enough, and didn't have the energy to get well. During the 12 days they never gave her a shower. We had many bad experiences with the nursing and management staff. They even accused my grandmother of being manipulative (until I told them she couldn't hear). One day they overdosed her pain meds so much she had to refuse therapy because she was so groggy and sick. I will say that the Therapists were all good. Very patient and kind. You can see they put their money into the Therapists and skimp on the nursing budget. Even though the therapy was good, she wasn't making good progress because of the nursing staff (wrong meds, wrong food, etc). Bottom line, I would only recommend this place for a younger person who can stand up for themselves if there is an issue. And keep your expectation low.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT A RELATIVE HERE! My aunt was admitted here for short term skilled nursing, and I can say this facility is severely understaffed, and what staff they do have are poorly trained, poorly educated, and lack basic empathy. This place is severely neglectful, please read the full review for details. My aunt has spent hours and hours left to sit in a pool of her own urine and wet bedding. She developed skin ulceration from this which is entirely unacceptable and abusive. They were supposed to place her on a 2 hour bathroom schedule, these people DO NOT take her to the bathroom at all. Ever. So yes now she wets herself out of need. She has lost urinary continance thanks to La Estancia and their horrible lack of staff and lack of caring. Using the call button is pointless, they leave call buttons unanswered and beeping for 30-45 minutes or more. As far as I can tell there is no leadership running this place, it’s been implied she had a case manager but if so I’ve yet to see one. When I complained about the wet bedding I was invited to take her elsewhere if I was unhappy with their subpar, subhuman care. The nursing staff overall is amongst the worst educated I’ve ever encountered at any similar facility. They don’t do regular rounds, they mismanaged her medication on two separate events that I had caught. She had seen NO DOCTOR at all on their staff after admission, not even once. They simply had a doctor supposedly reviewing her chart? Nursing was trying to make medication decisions in the absence of a physician, and verbally told me they would get an order for an antibiotic that her medical history clearly states she is allergic to. The nurses/CNA’s openly talk about my aunt in front of me, calling her a difficult patient, just because she is larger and due to her condition currently requires 2 people for transfers. I was told this is why they can’t get her dry bedding and gowns in a timely manner. I was asked by one nurse “well look at her, what are you expecting?” This is beyond comprehension. The dietary management is horrible, she was given a diabetic diet as an order, and now has been given sweets and desserts on every meal tray. They put her meals onto her tray as it sits across the room, so if she is napping when it arrives, being mainly immobile she can’t reach the food, and the call button is pointless, so her food sits for hours well out of her reach. Same happens with water, which I always have to refill myself, but again the staff always moves it well outside her reach. Dehydration is a genuine worry! Don’t ever send anyone you love here, if you did please transfer them out. I fear for anyone who has no family to witness how awful this place is.

This facility egregious acts has allowed my sister to get atrociously painfully open wounds on her back, buttock, and heels of her feet. She's been left lying in waste /urine for hours. Refusing to sit her up in a chair, never taken outside to breathe fresh air, because she can't walk..Atrociously over medicating her like into zombie/ coma after family complained about the injustice care and leaving her wet from neck to feet for hous.

I had a hip replacement surgery and needed rehab, as my bedroom and bath are upstairs where I live. The facility is very clean. They have cable TV and Wi-Fi. They do not keep set visiting hours which is nice for my Wife and other families schedules. They even allowed my dog in to visit, which was very helpful to me and other residents. I was in the Ortho wing and had a private room. It’s very clean with none of the typical nursing home/rehab center smells. The staff was excellent to me and my family in all aspects of my stay, and the rehab made it so I could get up and down the stairs at home with no limping or damage to my surgery. I would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone. Thanks again for your excellent care.

I am only giving this nursing and rehabilitation center one star because I have to. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE! IT IS AWFUL! I had a mass/tumor removed from between my lungs and part of my right lung removed. I was there over a week and they NEVER ALLOWED ME TO SHOWER! I HAD TO TELL THEM TO PUT ME ON THE LIST FOR A SHOWER BECAUSE I HAD BEEN THERE OVER A WEEK WITH NO SHOWER! A nurse threatened to stop giving me the pain pills that my doctor there prescribed because I refused to take Resveratrol pill that she wanted to give me. I left Against Medical Advice. Nurse on staff called a cab and put me in it while I was on pain killers - not in my right mind!

It's me( ALDONA FROM SEDONA ) My Dear Gregory Sc. Angela D. Mark, Rebeca ,Adriana ,Gil ,Lori Manani,Jennifer and all staff … I can honestly say I had the best care possible. I wish I had everyone’s name so I could thank everyone individually, including the receptionist. The people I met were kind, caring and very professional. They worked as one in complete harmony. The atmosphere was professional and yet had a personal touch which included all the staff . The Rehab very, very clean and beautiful ! You started me on exercises that were always challenging and never extended me too much. With your good sense of humor you were able to get me to relax, and with your ability to read people so well, you were able to coach and reassure me when I was having self-doubts about my ability to ever lift my leg normally again. With your skills you kept me as physically fit as I could be, carefully supervising my workout and warning me about the risks of certain kinds of exercises .Thank you for all your encouragement and most of all, for your incredible mind and spirit.Thank you: for loving me when I couldn’t love me, for your compassion, kindness, love, support and encouragement for the last a month. Can't imagine what i do without you!

I've been admitted to LaEstancia twice. My previous experience was positive, so I elected to go back there recently following surgery. This last admission was a nightmare. Most seriously, is that SOME of the nurses were unwilling to administer pain meds as prescribed and when needed. In addition, wrong meds were offered, other meds were given inconsistently. Rehab therapists failed to administer a thorough, accurate evaluation, or to document my abilities, and were unresponsive to my requests to be discharged. My requests for discharge were also ignored by numerous staff members who failed to follow through as promised. I won't go back there.

La Estancia is the place you do not want to be. the food is better than Ten City (Arpaio food) but worse than Florence Prision. The Administration sucks. My room was dirty, dust in the a/c unit, walls with spots of dirt that has not been clean in years. My toilet was not sanitize in days after having diarrea for all day I call for assistance and the nurses or aids did not show up.so I did it in bed , embarazing and frustrating experience. La Estancia is the pace of waiting hours for service is overpopulated and they do not have enough personal to deal with it. Decoration is poor and ugly . Some nurses are good others no so good. Houskeeping and maitentenance are good, hard working people.Therapy is good up to certain point.Do someting good for yourself or a family member. AVOID LA ESTANCIA

The staff doesn't smile, the nurses don't help, and the administrator is a joke!! the nurses don't pay enough attention the people in their care when i was visiting one man had fallen out of his bed and wasn't immediately helped by staff he layed there for a few minutes in a pool of blood from cutting himself on the bed on the way down i guess or hitting his head. im sorry but something like that requires immediate attention, not oh im almost done be right there kind of attention. this place sucks. plain and simple. there's no way around it and i don't care how good the place looks i wouldn't send anyone i care about there.
