I visited the Kings Oak hospital just after 5:30pm today for a blood test and was greeted to a very rude, blunt and unfriendly receptionist (sitting on the left side). From being a nervous patient with blood tests and feeling quite uneasy already, the receptionist was extremely rude made me feel like I just wanted to drive home. Really disappointing service and not the kind you wish before a blood test.

I just have an appointment today (19th February) and I have a very bad experience with a receptionist called Valentina. She was unbelievably rude and impolite. It is very sad that someone like her works at a desk and treats people very bad. I don't want to return.

I've been coming to Kings Oak and the Cavell hospitals for years as they're my local hospitals. First through my private insurance and now through NHS and I've always been very happy with the treatment and the service. I can honestly say I've been treated with the same level of care even as an NHS patient. I've recommended the hospitals to my friends and family.

Just had a procedure done today in gynecology under the care of Mr Shah. Referred by own GP under the NHS. Had a clean private air-conditioned room so didn't mind having to wait for the procedure , ( possibly due to exta precautions having to be made at the mo.)The nurses are helpful and accomodating.l was nervous and well looked after by everyone when l almost fainted. It wasn't very busy which was great. I had a good care, but l obviously didn't have to worry about the cost. Thank you very much.

My visit to the Kings Oak Hospital today was very pleasant, it was clean and welcoming. I was seen by Dr. Al-Khayatt who was very professional.

Saw Max fax surgeon Mr wayne halfpenny. Absolutely useless and pretty rude as well. Severe trauma to the jaw he didn't take seriously at all. Didn't seem to care less. Get far more sense from osteopaths.

I have just had to spend four days as an inpatient. The care I received from every person I came into contact with was exceptional. From the receptionists to the housekeepers from the waitresses to the porters I was overwhelmed with the care. My Consultant Mr Stephen Warren was caring and understanding and the nurses and healthcare assistants couldn't do enough for me. I hope I never have to return but if I did I know I would be in the best hands possible. Thank you x

I went for a self-funded mammogram at Kings Oak, the receptionist at the x-ray department was lovely but the radiographer's manners really did disappoint me. I regularly attend Kings Oak for both myself and family, and this was the first time I was disappointed enough to leave a review. I purposefully don't inform the staff that I am myself a doctor, so that I can be treated as any other patient. The radiographer failed to explain any part of the procedure (though I knew the process already), show any bedside manners or even speak nicely to me as a patient - simple pleases and thank yous really do go a long way. It made me far more grateful for our NHS, where service will be much better than this, and I couldn't help but wonder what I had really paid for with this appointment! I would also like to recommend that Kings Oak allow reviews to be posted on their own website - this kind of patient feedback is really important and I had nowhere else to out this aside from Google.

I've had nothing but positive experience here. The general medicine consultant, Mr Warren, was fantastic, and all the nursing staff were very attentive and polite. The nurses made sure I was light spirited by cracking jokes, and the aftercare I received here was outstanding - unlike my experience with NHS hospitals, I knew exactly where I stood when I left. The actual place always smells very clean (I love the smell in there!), and is very well-kept. It's a private hospital, and exactly what I'd expect for what one has to pay to use it.

Had biopsy done here, dermatologist couldn’t seem more disinterested, marked wrong place for biopsy etc, rushed results, gave me wrong information - went elsewhere and after a further biopsy I had been misdiagnosed as well as confirmed wrong information given about the wrong diagnosis. Appalling- don’t use this hospital!

Terrible first point of contact. Rude, aggressive and totally insensitive. Had her facts all wrong and clearly did not have the right training to be dealing with what she (badly) tried to do. Come on BMI.....I pay a fortune in hard-earned private medical insurance and expect a higher caliber of admin staff. I’ve had much better dealings with overworked, overstretched, underpaid NHS staff who at least understand that a little sensitivity goes a long way in this or any field.

My wife went to this hospital to do Biobse test (self payment), I can't explain how much we regret from the moment which we meet that un honest dermatology consultant. He doesn't deserve any penny of that money. The Biobse test was done wrong and cased very big infections into my wife toe (her toe was looking 3 times bigger from the usual size) with a lot of pain. when we returned back to the doctor he tried to find another excuses and start to recommend another doctor with another treatments. They had offer if you pay in the same day you get 50-60% discount, I was happy and paid that straight a way, later I received another bill £425 asking me to pay more !!!!!! I couldn't imagine how much that doctor was un human and how he was just after upselling and getting any additional money for his pocket. My wife had to fly bag to her country and do all the process. I don't recommend this hospital to anyone, be very careful with their big bills. I'm rely thinking to sue them.

Worse experience ever. ETN doctor more interested in your money. Asked me twice do I have money to pay, and how do I pay. Tried to get more money for using NHS tool.

After giving full details of my daughter's age (16 years) at the time if booking, I had driven 30 miles to take her to see a consultant. She was accompanied by an adult and told part way into the consultation that she couldn't be seen because there was not a paediatrician nurse within the hospital. A nurse was not actually needed at the consultation, there just had to be one in the hospital! Apparently as the appointment was at 9pm - the nurse had gone home and no one had bothered to check that a nurse would actually be available. Ridiculous.

Totally pathetic hospital. You pay for private but the service is just not there. My wife had an appointment booked about 2 weeks in advance with a consultant at King's Oak, Hamish Hamilton. We spent an hour driving there, booked in, 30 minutes waiting, then we are told he is had not shown up for whatever reason. If they cannot manage small things like a diary... its pretty scary to think how detailed they are on the big things. Avoid.

My wife had a hip replacement here , all of the medical staff from nurses to doctors , surgeons have been nothing but kind and professional , the food has been superb and my wife has no complaints whatsoever regarding the level of care she has received at the Kings Oak and BMI Group we would highly recommend having a medical procedure here.

The administration services provided by the Kings Oak hospital are disgraceful. Has anybody tried to obtain from the hospital the prices of their procedures etc?. Well, I have and I am still waiting. Most of the staff I spoke to have no idea and when they do, they can only give you approximate costs. They are unable to explain what is what because really it is not their job. Some of the people I was transferred to speak to, work in Reservations ! I have been promised a call back from a manager to give me necessary details and guess what, she has never call me back.

I had a cosmetic procedure done just a few days ago and I can honestly say that my experience at this hospital was simply amazing from start to finish. The staff were so kind and bent over backwards to make me feel comfortable and at ease not to mention my wonderful surgeon. The food was lovely here and it was very comfortable and clean throughout.I would definitely recommend BMI Health Care and The Kings Oak Hospital to anyone considering any aspect of private health care ☺

For a private hospital the staff are not very friendly and you regularly have to wait 30 - 45 minutes to have the appointment you were booked. Might as well use the NHS and save a lot of money and time.

on a whole quite happy with the service at kings oak,but my word, some of the staff are very abrupt and at times bordering on offensive and rude, have had the misfortune of one young lady on 3 occassions and to be honest if i have to go back for more surgery and this woman walks in to take my pressure ect,i will get up and walk out,had enough, you may notice i did not say nurse, half my family are nurses and have never seen any of them carry on in the manner i saw this woman, really no need for it,if you do not enjoy the work that you do,get out and find something else rather than make peoples time at kings oak a nightmare.

Following an accident where I broke my nose, I saw a surgeoun consultant, Dr Mosahebi, at BMI (formerly Kings Oak). He performed my rhinoplasty at Shire Bushey because I wanted a morning op. Dr Mosahebi did an awful job. Even after a revision it still looks horrendous (larger than before along the ridge and the tip has lost it's structure, has a "hang" and is now round and bulbous looking). I waited over a year for it to fully heal (as he adviced can take up to a year). When I went back to see Dr Mosahebi I was told i'd have to pay hospital fees again because it had been over a year since the operation. When I got a second opinion, I was told the operation was unsuccessful because Dr Mosahebi failed to deal with the initial break, even after two operations (it is still clearly prominent because he tried to file the bone rather than breaking it and re-setting it). BMI is a trusted name in the private healthcare world, they should vet their surgeons more stringently, there is nothing cosmetic about this mans work.

Hidden fees and overpriced. No one explained the full fees in that hospital, and is the right of every patient to know every step and fee before the procedure...
