The shop is little but Giants for supplying you your desired Meat. Stunning quality Meat and the cleanliness and hygiene is very good. Above all is service with lovely smile and personal touch.

We as a family unit have had a relationship with Gheewala Butchers off Melton Road for over 35 years, and I can categorically state that it is and always has been one of the purveyors of the highest standards of meat and poultry in the Midlands Area, let alone Leicester. The level of skill and service has been passed down from Grandfather To Son; to today Grandsons and the quality of meat, the service and the excellent standards are exceeding year after year. During the recent frenzy of shoppers descending on Meat retailers, in the Corona-Consumer-Idiocy, whilst Supply Prices were being impacted, the Gents at Gheewala Butchers were incredibly honorable in their guarantees of limiting the amounts of meat on a daily basis for each shopper. No Customer was left without and even when I tried to play the friend card, the max I was allowed was the same as every other customer. On top of this, their prices remained in line with the market and they did their utmost to control their prices, to limit the impact the the lack of supply from Europe caused. What I personally have always loved about Gheewala stores is their attention and care of their diverse customer base... the primary customer base for them, being a halal meat shop, is non-Muslim, which shows just how far a Muslim owned Halal Meat store goes to ensure that their non-Muslim customers are cared for... Firstly, Beef never ever even touches their supply chain, that is how much care they put into their respect for their customers. I know this, as I have asked the owners if they can source me beef on numerous occasions over the years and even though I know and they know that they could make a small fortune from it... they never ever even entertain the notion of doing this, even in secret, even from home... that is how honourable a family business this is. Secondly, the quality of their seasonals... I have personally never experienced Halal Turkey and Capon as fresh as purchased from this establishment... Even my own cousins from London, who own a Meat shop and have access to Halal Capon and Turkey stated last Christmas that Gheewala Stores in Melton Road are absolutely the best at Halal Seasonals. Thirdly, even though their exemplary quality meats and poultry in "normal" times may require a slight premium, you are paying for a quality of meats that is incomparable to other retailers lacklustre standards in the Leicester Area. As an example, their lamb mince is guaranteed the highest quality lamb mince and is incredibly lean and from proper cuts of meat. You can instantly tell, when you cook it, where the quality is and what you are getting for your money. I have purchased lamb mince in the so-called cheaper establishments and it is the left overs of the carcass meats that are run through the machine. Never at this establishment. Overall, I love this establishment and they never take themselves seriously, they have a great welcome, they are so respectful to their customers and I do believe that they set the standards for all other meat shops in Leicester to follow. And one tip - which is absolutely invaluable on Saturdays and especially at Christmas - when you are in the store next, make sure you develop a good relationship with the Owner's Son, Irfan - and then ring in your orders in advance... it will save a lot of time and they have all the bags ready for you when you arrive. Please don't tell the world this little gem - hahahaha! Excellence in every aspect of their wonderful business.
