Brilliant for books of all kinds. I have been using this library since I have been at Hallcroft School in the late 60's. My grandaughter now uses the library and comes all the way from Oakwood Derby to use it. Taxi rank outside all day and everyday. Staff are always helpful and kind

I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this place! The staff are very friendly and helpful, they know their stuff, and there are comfy seats to sit and read and tables and chairs upstairs for study and work. Free wifi and the staff are okay with hot drinks as long as they have a lid. Libraries are such a wonderful resource, and it's a shame more people don't use them, especially when they're as well-run and welcoming as Ilkeston Library. Highly, highly recommend!

Very efficient staff, always helpful. I donated my Mum's book and the manager called me back, asked a few simple questions and sorted it all out.
The library is a great asset to ilkeston and a credit to the council that despite budget cuts they keep it open and well staffed.

I can't rate Ilkeston Library and the Derbyshire Library service highly enough, I'd give it 10 stars! For Derbyshire residents it is free and offers so much. Obviously you get access to all the books, dvds, audio books etc etc in your local library. But with membership you can request books be transferred to your local branch (for a small fee), renew your check outs on-line, and get free access to online magazines and audio books via the RB digital app. All the staff at Ilkeston are really friendly and helpful.

Central to ilkeston sq, must be the last of libraries, can get busy as other functions going on, the reading rooms unaffected by any noise.
