I have been invited to subscribe to a Talent Acquisition Business Partner role at Cera Care last November 23rd. On the 16th of December I have been invited for an online interview which has happened on the next day. I had a conversation with the Talent Acquisition Director and the Talent Acquisition Manager. The scheduled interview was supposed to last 45 minutes and it did last 15 or less minutes. I had to deliver a presentation as per brief they send to me. After the presentation they had no question, but they seemed not interested at all in asking anything else to me. On 9th January 2020 I have send the TA Manager a message on LinkedIn asking if there is any update in regards the TA Business Partner role I was on the process and I haven’t heard anything yet. The reason I am leaving this review is not because I want to get the job there as I have been employed in the healthcare sector since January 2021 and I am happily performing well, already got promoted and I am happy with my development. But I want to suggest that all candidates that you speak with has expectation. They have applied to that role either because they got no work or because they are not happy with their current job and want to get this changed. So, the minimum you could provide after a long process, where they are full of expectation is the feedback. Many times, you will not need to give them a structured feedback on what they must improve or develop but, the minimum you can do is sending them an email thanking them for the time provided and saying that you have decided to offer the role to another candidate. I am sure Cera Care got good professionals and it is just something that you must keep an eye on improving as it will only benefits you as a company and will show everyone that you care about the key to keep your business running: people.

Summary: after 6 weeks training, my mutually signed contact was terminated with no communication, other than “Debbie doesn’t want to work with you” — after she racially profiled and bullied me at the induction. Please note: this is not a review regarding the care service, but rather a review regarding the management of the company, for those applying to work for Cera homecare. A bit about myself- I am a student on a year off, and during the quarantine period I have read lots about the situation of care homes and decided to train as a care worker to try and help any elderly people who need care but are unable to get it. My plan was to do this on the weekends (it was a zero hour contract) alongside my other full-time job. I applied to CeraCare from the BBC article and have spent 6 weeks, locked down, on my computer, completing the required care certificates. This successful training resulted in a in-person induction, where I was met by my supervisor, Debbie, who is the London branch manager. 1. She asked ‘Is there any religion you follow that we need to be concerned about? I am an Indian girl. 2. I was wearing a PPE mask as we are in a closed environment and so sometimes when I speak, my voice comes slightly muffled. I thought this was a sensible precaution to take even though nobody else was wearing one in the room. Instead of asking me to speak a bit louder, she laughed and asked me to remove the mask which I thought was really weird and certainly rude and senseless way to react, for someone who works in the care of sick & elderly people. 3. The proposed contract was a zero-hour contract. Debbie was unprofessional when I told her of my availability on the weekends (6 hours, due to my other full time job) and she proceeded to shake her head, laugh at me, and tell me that she works every evening (which makes sense, as she earns a full-time salary). Despite all this, I made sure that her rude, unwelcoming, behaviour did not mean I left the job and left people who need care affected. I was simply going to place a complaint. However, I received a call saying that Debbie did not want to work with me, and no one has told me the state of my contract (which both parties signed). Instead she has said she does not want to work with me, letting her uncalled for anger and attitude, affect those who really need care at this time. If this is the treatment your company give, I will make sure to spread the work to my friends and family not to apply here, because clearly, as a student only trying to help those in need, your company do not want to appreciate or encourage that. I would like to resolve this and the contract that was left unterminated; so if someone from Cera Care would like to reply to my email, it would be much appreciated.

My dad had carers before who were never reliable. Since using Cera the care has been great and very consistent. I don’t always have time to check in and it’s nice knowing I don’t have anything to worry about.

Cera took care of my dad while I went on holiday. It was the first time I’ve used them, so I was worried about leaving my dad in their care. But their customer service was great and they were happy to update me whenever I called. The carers they provided took great care of my dad.

Good customer service, but the calibre of the carers wasn't great, I suspect the payments to the carers were miserable and morale was extremely low, the Booking system was user friendly, but the carers would not turn up on time say 50% of the time!! Leaving my father alone for extended periods, wont be using Cera again!!!

They were able to arrange everything for me when I left the hospital. The came to see me there to write up my care plan. The care worker arrived in good time and arranged transport for us.
