They are rude and unprofessional. This was a big treat for me as I have been unable to professional afford hairdressing for ages and it was my birthday present. I felt like crying during my appointment as they made me feel so bad about my hair. Chelsea made such a fuss over the fact that it was been different lengths. I had explained that it needed help when I booked. She also made a fuss over the fact that she was late as my appointment had been squeezed in. I had no idea about this. The only thing I asked for it not to be too dark and whilst allowing for its poor condition on arrival, I was disappointed at how dark it is. I only hope that it fades quickly. The cut is very nice however and the stylist Roxy was interesting and kind. I wish her every success. Overall though not a good experience.

Since I moved to Norwich I think I've tried just about every hair salon in Norwich (and believe me, there are many!). At last I found Jason at Kinki Boutique and I can't praise him enough. He cuts my short hair with absolute precision and it now looks the best it has in years. If you're looking for a hairdresser, look no further - Jason is the best there is!

I cannot recommend this salon enough! I had my hair done today by Norma. I had previously been to another salon and asked for ombre but left with more of a highlighted style. I barely needed to explain to Norma what i actually wanted. She is very intelligent and knows what she is talking about. Not to mention how welcoming she was and understanding. Usually I'm quite anxious entering new places but all the staff there were so friendly and professional. I felt so comfortable. Getting back to my hair. Norma dealt with my colour correction with great care and went through every last detail with me. What to expect, what we will achieve, what more she can offer (other treatments to achieve a brighter shade) and aftercare. I felt in safe hands. After only one session of bleach, which they mix with a conditioning treatment, I had achieved exactly what i wanted. The ombre was now a blocked colour, it was the perfect shade, and it was placed in the correct place to suit me and my face shape. I'm over the moon with my hair! I only wish I went here first instead of the other salon. I'm so pleased and impressed with the service I received. What a talented girl you are Norma. I shall definitely be back! Thank you to you all at Kinki Boutique. Best salon I've been to. I look forward to seeing you all again and walking away with a great new do. P.s, My hair feels in great condition too. Super soft and silky. What more could a girl want. Thank you!!! x

I would like to compliment a new member to the team at Kinki Boutique and I would like to say what an asset this new addition is. Hadrian has only been at the salon for approximately 5 weeks but he has flair and a talent which is second to none. In explanation, I am just coming out of the other side of a serious illness which resulted in me losing my hair. The salon was recommended to me by a friend and despite my daughter being a hairdresser, I decided to try somewhere completely neutral. I visited the salon yesterday for a consultation with Hadrian.................and what a lovely person he is! For a female, losing your hair is one of the worst experiences you can imagine however following a consultation and a subsequent trim, Hadrian totally transformed my hair and made me feel so much better about myself. I didn't actually realise that I had so much hair and that there was enough to actually put a style to it. Thank you Hadrian for your expertise, for a fabulous head massage, for your interesting conversations and for making me feel so much better about myself after such a terrible year! I'll definitely be coming back again.

Unprofessional and rude management. The owner Jason is pathetic, rude and he questions his clients word. When the loyalty discount was to be applied for recommending people he found excuses not to do it! He embarrassed me in front of the entire salon. I was also told that if you do not come back within the 3 months of the last appointment you pay a fixed re-style price which added another £15 to previously agreed price. In addition, a usual wait time is 30 minutes plus even with prebooked appointment!! Once, I had to wait over one hour with my hair wet while my stylist was working with another customer. The salon is also misleading in its offers and prices. Do not recommend- spend money elsewhere, you might as well enjoy yourself!

Going to Kinki Boutique is a great experience. From the shiatsu recliners to the americanos, to the head massage, Jason's salon is a real vibrant treat for anyone who just wants the best of everything. Of course none of this would matter if the styling didn't match the surroundings, and that's where Kinki really excels. The creativity and technical skill shown by the team gives me confidence; I know I can walk in there, ask for anything, and they'll deliver. End of. Conversely, I can arrive with no idea of what I want, and their creative flair ensures I never leave looking and feeling anything less than fantastic. If you haven't been there before, I cant recommend it highly enough.

Horrible experience. I didnt get what I asked for because hairdresser “didnt do those things” (I only asked for an undercut) and then she left the cut hair all over my neck without even trying to clean it. It was way overpriced, if I pay £50 I expect to get what I ask for not whatever the hairdresser wants to do.

Have been coming to Kinki since December last year with my brother. Hadrian is AMAZING! He recognizes us every time we visit and greets us warmly. Hadrian doesnt fail to impress with ensuring the hair is as requested but also taking time to ensure its not rushed and shoddy loooking. worth every penny!

I had the worst cut & colour I have ever had at this establishment. I have worked in a Mayfair London top salon & know a good hairdresser from an indifferent one. In my opinion this is one to avoid!!! I happened to share my experience today & was told by various people that it is most definitely the worst place to consider for your next cut in Norwich! My experience cost me £160..beware.

I had a fantastic experience visiting Kinki Boutique today. I had a full colour with Laura who was very professional and understanding, I took in a photograph and she achieved exactly what look I wanted. Jason cut and styled my hair afterward where we went through a style I was settled on and Jason definitely gave me a 5* haircut and I felt fabulous afterwards. This was my first visit to Kinki's i will be highly recommending to friends and family as was recommended to me. Modern, Friendly, Clean & Professional Loved it!! Elle x

I had my hair done yesterday by Jason (for the first time) and I couldn't be any happier. Loved the treatment I received inside the Boutique - Upon walking in I was greeted, asked if I wanted anything to drink and my coat was taken and put in a safe place! Jason sat me down and talked to me for a little bit, asking me what I wanted done and then telling me what he could do to make it look good. Also throughout the cut he was advising me on what he was doing to my hair, which makes a change because lets face it, when we see a lot of hair coming off, we all get panicky!! I absolutely love my hair now!! Overall, I'm definitely going back, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Salon to anyone!! see you again soon :—)

Hadrian done my hair before Christmas it was a challenge. Jason the owner of the salon wasn't much help and told me I couldn't go the colour I wanted to. I went back for a third attempt it was perfect haidrian is an amazing hairdresser and really nice going with his clients.

I had my hair done just over 6 weeks ago. I have delayed my review because you know how it is. You go the hairdressers. You look great when you come out but by the time you get to the second wash at home your hair never resembles how you left the salon. I have visited many salons in Norwich always looking for the great cut. Generally you leave a salon with a bob. Always looks nice and tidy but always the same. I went to Kinki because I was bought a gift voucher. I was booked in with Jason. My hair is quite thick and it has always been a little/alot unruly. I always use straighteners so it looks neat. Whilst my hair was dry Jason could see that my hair although straight was actually wavy. He recommended to me that rather than keep straightening my hair why didn’t I go natural. I was fed up always looking the same so I said go for it. My hair was washed and Jason set to work. He was chatty had a great sense of humour. He took all of the weight out of my hair just by the way he cut it. He showed my how to dry my hair. I had gone to the salon with straight heavy hair that looking back just sat there. I left with my natural wavy hair. As I walked down the road I was a couple of people give me a double take. I arrived back at work the girl who sits next to me was stunned her mouth actually dropped open. The health and safety fella in work just said OMG girl you will stop that traffic on your way home. It’s stunning. Like I said I’ve been to many salons and quite often during my lunch break. When I generally return back no one ever notices I have had my hair done. So that day and every day since I have had at least one person tell me I look amazing. People think I have had a perm. My hair looks natural it feels fantastic. I wash it and dry it how Jason showed me and even 6 weeks later It still looks how It did when I left the salon. This morning a fella stopped me told me my hair looks fantastic and really suits me. I absolutely love my hair and so grateful I was given the gift voucher. Kinki is my new salon and Jason my stylist. Thanks for making me feel feminine and gorgeous. X ????

I went to Kinki ready to fulfil my lifelong dream of getting pink hair- and I was MORE than impressed with how my transition from blonde to pink looked. The amazing Norna, Michelle and Danya worked wonders on my hair and I'm delighted with it. I was talked through exactly what was going on, they made appropriate suggestions based on my the quality of my hair and I even consulted Norna before the appointment to talk through my options and aftercare products. Cannot recommend the salon enough- thanks guys!

Going into the salon my expectations were quite high due to the previous reviews. After an hour long visit i have to say i'd definitly go again if i lived in Norwich. Had a great haircut done by Hadrian, the whole experience was just really good. Friendly staff all around, a good team spirit seems to be going on there. Very happy with the cut, Hadrian clearly knows his business!

I'm so happy I went to Kinki !!! I had some preconceptions about the place, how wrong was I. My boyfriend managed to persuade me to make an appointment and give his favourite hairdressers a go. It was an extremely pleasurable experience, I walked in with a grown out hard to achieve style, which i hated, I have walked out with a gorgeous cut thanks to Caroline. Considering I have never been to a hair dressers twice, i will definitely be booking again! I love love love my hair cut!! ANNOYINGLY MY BOYFRIEND WAS RIGHT! Wish I had gone sooner!!!

This place has really disappointed me. Having moved back to the area after some time, and after many good experiences, i booked myself a cut & blowdry. It looks the part, the staff play their part etc. I wanted to treat myself, so I opted to have one of the more expensive haircuts. I went in with layer free hair, and hair I was quite proud of. I'm not the most exciting so told the hairdresser what I was thinking, but was needing a little guidance. I have never been the biggest fan of layers, and made sure sure she was aware. However, clearly something got lost in translation, and what I was left with, was horrible. I came back a week later, after having had many comments made. It looked as though I had two different styles, and because the layers had been cut so short, the only option was to thing the bottom. I really wish I had just not bothered. It's taken a few months to try and get it to a length where someone could perhaps salvage it. Even with this, I've just had to have another few inches off because of the 'angles' in which the woman cut it. It's completely put off getting my hair cut. Something I use to really enjoy. The whole experience of the salon is just too much. The cut alone was bad, but the way some of the staff communicate is just disgusting. I don't like to complain, especially about local companies, but theres just no excuse.

Went to Kinki for the first time yesterday based on a recommendation from a friend. The experience was great. Hadrian performed a balayage on my hair, taking it from a mousy brown to a multi toned beautiful blonde. He explained every step of the process during both the consultation and throughout the appointment. He's a really friendly lovely guy and definitely helps you feel at ease and confident. The salon has a great atmosphere, very chilled. I was offered refreshments and magazines during the appointment and was even given some chips! I would absolutely recommend giving Kinki a try, you won't be disappointed! Thank you again to the team at a kinki, especially Hadrian x

I had my partner booked in for a colour and cut here. Paid in advance and wasn't made aware at any point that they don't offer a refund policy. I was not made aware of this on the phone and due to unforseen circumstances, I had to cancel my partner's appointment. Upon request of the refund, I was put on to who was supposedly the manager. His customer service was less than abysmal and was only superceded by his absolute arrogance. On top of this, I wasn't offered which stylist my partner was to be styled by, it was just conveniently the highest price one. All in all, an awful experience. Customer service training and telephone manners is something the "manager" would definitely benefit from.

My hair was cut by a lady called Heather and I am very angry about the monstrosity she has left upon my head. She didn't effectively communicate her overly creative ideas, primarily her suggestion to go 'a tad shorter' on one side; resulting in me appearing a 1980's reject with my hair completely missing on one side of my head. I never ever asked for long hair on one side and a pixie cut on the other and I am outraged. NEVER TRUST THIS WOMAN WITH YOUR HAIR!

I have had three visits to Kinki Boutique after someone bought me a gift voucher at Christmas so I feel like I am informed enough to write this review. I was happy with the cuts but the customer service and professionalism leaves a lot to be desired so this is the reason I won't be returning. At my regular salon, the whole experience is very professional from the moment you walk in - they know who you are, offer you a drink and take your coat straight away, offer you a magazine, then deliver a professional service throughout. It's calm and relaxing - so you get the feeling of being pampered - which is what a visit to the hairdressers should be. Whereas, by comparison, at Kinki Boutique - from the moment I've arrived it seemed very chaotic, my details had been taken down incorrectly on more than one occasion, the date was also different to what I was told on the phone, there was a misunderstanding about the voucher - although they honored it. I wasn't offered a drink until halfway through and at no point was I offered a magazine. Some of the girls seem more interested in messing about (dancing, spraying water) and gossiping in front of the customers than getting on with their jobs, which personally I find very unprofessional.

BE CAREFUL - WILL OVER CHARGE As stated on the Kinki Boutique website, the owner "Jason prides himself in being unpretentious and he treats everybody with the equal respect that they deserve"; this is of course, apart from when he deems one of his clients, such as myself, a "charity case" and publicly shames them in front everyone else in his establishment. Prior to the appointment, I had agreed with the salon to have my hair trimmed with their cheapest stylist. On their website it states a graduate stylist is the cheapest option, at £29. You can imagine my surprise when greeted with a £55 bill after a quick trim. I had been very clear on the phone that I wanted their cheapest available option and I was never once informed that I would be paying a premium price - on the phone or whilst attending the appointment. Their reasoning was that "it was the cheapest option available at the time", however this was only advised to me after the hair cut. I would have gone elsewhere, having known this information. Jason's solution was to give me £15 back out of his own wallet as opposed to treating this like a proper refund, through the business. This was also only after numerous complaints which were not treated seriously, both on the phone and in person. I would not recommend this salong - the hair cut was as good as a trim is gonna get, so no complaints there, but I did not appreciate the awful customer service, being patronised and insulted and the misguiding of the price.

I first had my haircut by Jason when I was 19 and he was only 24 so that gives you an idea how long he's been cutting my hair. While he lived in London or Sweden I had to use other hair salons in the city but none of them lived up to his eye for detail and fashion forward ideas. Since he has owned Kinki stylists have come and gone but I see he constantly tries to instil his quality and detail as well as encouraging fun and passion in what they do. He runs behind a little, talks too much occasionally, has to manage other people around him and has a silly sense of humour but he is a kind man to his clients and staff and always but always turns out great cuts every time. 20 years later and he still manages to find new things to do with my hair. Heather and Chelsey colour my hair. They do a great job and are lovely, friendly and professional without fail. The only place to go for me that's for sure!

Had a cut and colour about 8 months ago, went from very long hair to a mid length bob cut, stylist was too busy to properly attend to me and had a lot of other people to see during my appointment. I understand stylists can do someone else’s hair whilst I’m waiting for the colour to set etc, but i felt ignored. Hair colour was generally poorly done and I left with very obvious roots already, wanted a bayalage/ombre style but got a mishmatch of colours in random sections. What I wanted must have been lost in communication. The cut itself was also poor and once the initial chop was completed there wasn’t any shaping applied afterwards. My hair is very thick and every time I get it cut i get it thinned as well. None of that happened either (despite discussing it in the consultation the previous week). Very disappointed as the whole appointment cost well over £100 and I was very upset with the outcome. A month later I went to John Oliver’s Red Lion Street and got everything fixed and now I love it. Another +£100 later mind!

I went back to KB having had quite a good experience the first time I went there. Although, the first time, the woman who cut my hair flatly refused to do the cut I asked for (though this happens to me a lot, not just at KB), I did like the results. I subsequently forgot that I was charged a bit more than they had told me it would cost when I booked it. The second time, however, I was charged 50% more than they had gone to great lengths to tell me it would cost when I booked it (working out the discount over the phone, explaining why there was a discount, etc.) When I reminded Jason, the manager, of the conversation we'd had over the phone (the day before), he very condescendingly told me I'd made a mistake - even whilst claiming he couldn't remember our conversation. I had to pay a crippling amount for a haircut that makes me ashamed to leave the house. It is genuinely dire. The person who cut my hair only did the back!? I still have an overgrown side fringe flopping impotently over my face. Total waste of a lot of money.

hair cut was nothing like asked for was like hadn't had hair cut my boyfriend had hair cut at same time and his was awful to. I took photos of what I wanted yet still got it wrong. they didn't state the price was from not set price. when they washed my hair hurt so much my eyes watered also when brushed my hair over priced and poor customer service. do not go.

the staff undoubtedly know their stuff - i’ve had a few great haircuts from this place and i had a nice balayage done here. however, time and time again the customer service and experience just hasn’t been up to scratch. the staff are too busy chatting to or b*tching about other members of staff. i had a bad experience with one of their hairdressers, didn’t feel comfortable complaining at the time but after the comments i received from family and friends i contacted them on fb. they just offered for me to come in and have someone else attempt to fix it.. the problem was my fringe had been cut way too short so not sure what they thought they would be able to do? my fringe still hasn’t grown back properly. the customer service needs work. there are many other places in norwich who get it right both technically and on a customer front. no excuse for this salon’s attitude. you can’t leave them a bad review on facebook for fear of their owner attacking you.

I do not normally review services, but this time I will. I went to this salon for the 3rd time and I will never do so again! I feel I have been treated unprofessionally. While I attended my appointment suggesting a slight change in my appointment (do just colouring not haircut- as I felt that my hair did not need a cut yet) I have been informed (after doing the colouring-not promptly) that I have had to pay 25% fee for the haircut I did not want to do. Feeling trapped I decided to take the haircut. While I take the responsibility of not being aware of the 'policy' of this hairsaloon, I still however believe that I haven't been treated with care. I indeed however posed the following questions with regards to the salon's 'customer care policy': 1. Do I get a compensation for not having the hairstylist I requested 2 months ago to do my hair colouring? 2. Do I get a compensation from the last time I was there and have had to wait for 30min+ after my appointment was scheduled? I was not satisfied with the response... The 'funniest' bit of all; I have had a disount (40%) for hair colouring...total amount £96. Make sure you think about it 3 times before deciding to book an appointment...and do have a good look at the 'policy' of the hairsaloon...you do not want to be trapped in this manner!
