check ups, fillings and wisdom teeth removed here and everything has been straight forward and done well. Friendly and professional. My son enjoyed his first trip to the dentist when he visited before covid. We will all attend as a family when we can. Thank you

New in the community and in pain, needed it to find a dentist. So decided to visit The Family Dental Practice because of the reviews and the name. When arrived, the girl woman who opened the door told me that was busy with a patience, so decided to just quickly tell her that I was looking for a dentist to check what should I do when she immediately responded that they are not taking any new NHS patience, assuming I was. Where I'm from I'm used to private so didn't quiet understand, but then she got interested but told me that no private appointments until late December. Not very nice or Family attitude. Now less than a week after I have found a very good dental practice and have had my first appointment already.

We called yesterday firstly to enquire about registering as NHS patients, which was a no, followed by whether we could book a private appointment, also a no. It wasn't so much the response as the way it was delivered. The receptionist was so incredibly rude, like she couldn't wait to get us off the phone. Understand these are stressful times, particularly in the dental world, but there is no need for rudeness.

I’ve been a regular patient over the years and am always impressed with how quick I can get appointments. The dentist always discusses my options and let me decide. I recently had two fillings and a cap done in this place with no problem. Highly recommend this friendly dental surgery.

Had many teeth removed here (always first and only option) was told off by dentist for being oversensitive during treatment. Which is fair enough to a degree as the treatment was near my sinus. But, there is a much better way to ask and treat a patient. Haven't been back since. Luckily I don't live in woodingdean anymore so no worry there. And certainly wouldn't take my 1 year old there. Only 1 positive I can think of is the dentist assistant. Who is lovely. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!!

The dentist and nurse were great, one of the easiest and least painful dental appointments I have ever had.
However, the reception in this surgery have caused me nothing but grief. The first receptionist booked me in for 25/01, and gave me a card to confirm. She explained that the total cost was £55, of which I had paid half. When I called on the morning on the 25th, no appointment had been made. The same receptionist then insisted that I had not booked it, and denied all responsibility. I was assured I would receive a text to confirm which never came through.
The second receptionist loves to talk over people and gives no respect to someone who is talking. I explained that I was very sick with food poisoning and she interrupted me to insist that I MUST attend the appointment today. After having the dental treatment she then charged me a further £84. I tried to explain what I had been told before - but once again she interrupted me to tell me that I was wrong and confused and that I had agreed to pay the total of around £110. I did say I was happy to pay, but wanted to let her know that I had previously been advised of a different cost - but she again interrupted as she really wasnt interested.
For these reasons I would NOT recommend this dentist and certainly wont be returning.

I would highly recommend this dental practice. Sarah and her assistant are both lovely.
My last review was in Oct 2017. Unfortunately two years later I went back but was seen by a different dentist, Mr Farnham who's first interaction with me was to scold me because I hadn't been to that dental practice in 2 years, even though I had been to a different dentist 3 months ago. I am a 58 year old, very intelligent woman but I have a deep fear of dentists as a result of a bad experience in my childhood. After that initial communication & his obvious lack of empathy I was scared to be treated by somebody who I didn't feel a camaraderie with, so I left. I wonder if I was a private patient would he have scolded me in that manner. When I told him that Sarah wouldn't have spoken to me like that, he informed me that Sarah is his wife. He could learn a thing or two from her about how a dentist should deal with a very nervous patient she was so lovely to me. I feel so disappointed and sad after meeting this man.

I joined to this practice 4 years ago. I was a very nervous patient and leave my teeth and gums in a bad state. After some treatments done in the family dental practice , they helped me to overcome my anxiety. I no longer fear going to the dentist. And my smile totally changed . I can show my white teeth now. Thanks to Dr Farman and his assistants.

Wednesday.This was my first ever visit to a dentist after suffering a toothache.. I was met by friendly faces. Sarah examined me and explained what they could do. A return visit the next Friday for a tooth extraction went very quickly and painlessly in the capable hands of Mohammad. I have to go back in ten days for a filling and clean. I have no concerns about returning. A brilliant practice all round.
