They close markets when they get a call from their hedge fund investors. Furthermore, they upped margin requirements to 100% but still charge interest fees on leverage. Even though there is no leverage now since I'm supplying 100% of the margin. I'm literally paying interest on my own money.

DON'T GO WITH THESE GUYS - AVOID - it took 3 business days to withdraw my money. Couldn't place order for certain stocks, and I called Helpdesk which didn't know what they were doing - in the meantime, the stocks moved. I would avoid using these guys - I will be transferring my shares with another provider. The phone call wait time was also nearing 20 mins+

The are scamers. There fees are hidden, no transparency, the are always trading against you. No chance to earn with short term or medium term investment. They are scaming you with currency exchange as well, hurendus fees, untrasparent, that will make yor profit a lost. I sold shares at 300$ profit and ended with an 100£ lost in my balance. Scamers, run or lose money!

Avoid to use their ISA account to trade US stocks, super expensive commission(currency conversion), made a trade on US stock with Notional 5000 USD , made around 200 USD, after GBP conversion, I made 0 GBP at the end.

I've followed everything they've asked, uploaded bank statements, registered a new card, etc. They take your money in few seconds but you can never get them back. 06/01/21 Update. I've managed to get my money back. It was a painful experience but it's done. I've changed my ratings from 1 to 3 stars.

There are many good things about IG, their range of markets and their charting with ProRealTime but i’m afraid after this week i’ve lost all trust in them as they have proved that their ‘customers’ are just a cash cow to be bled. We have had a platform that just stops working, seemingly when the little guy is trading something that is profitable for them,... we’ve had a ban on buying certain stocks, massive rises in margin requirements for some stocks (and not even communicated to ‘customers’ ) last week before it happened....and then to top it all, demands for massive increases in margin requirements for trades that have already been opened! This is a bit like betting on a horse in a race, at fixed odds of 10/1, then being told after the race has started, that to keep the bet you need to put down an extra £500.! I have emailed them last week and am still waiting for a reply as maybe all this is just a huge error that they’re going to correct for their ‘customers’... If this ISN’T a mistake, and this IS how IG treat their ‘customers’ then i would certainly recommend using a different broker....the excuse of excessive volatility, or words to that effect, just doesn’t wash. The 08/09 crash, with MASSIVE volatility was 11/12 years ago...plenty enough time to rectify a platform with issues around too much volatility. Lets see how you respond IG.

You will wait and wait for hours. Some womans voice tells you a member of the team will respond soon but after 30 minutes you realise that they are impossible to contact. They also ignore emails. My suggestion is to take your business elsewhere !!

Breaking FCA Complaint Regulations & Unbelievably Bad Service & Disinterest. A material sum is showing as “reserved.” For no apparent or valid reason. After frustration and stress of receiving endless short irrelevant, repetitive and disinterested responses to my simple question about]my money being reserved for no apparent reason @help, I decided seven days ago to write asking that in accordance with the FCA regulations a complaint be raised. Guess what? Nothing. I go in chat and they disconnected me several times. Luckily I copy and paste the chat into a document because they don’t keep or send you a copy, I would have to start from zero each time if I couldn’t paste it. But they disconnected me 3 times as well as contradicting what I was told in @helpdesk messages for weeks. IG’s people seem not to care at all about my money or the FCA regulations of 3 days to solve or register complaints. Avoid.

HI, one of the worst stock broker out here if you looking to invest with ig trading don't be brother. Customer service is just terrible didn't expected instead of problem solving they just leave you read. My recommendation to others chose something better like trading 212 or free trade

Seems a common rhetoric. IG loses it's customers money and doesnt have any customer service capable of effectively dealing with problems. I was unable to move my stop loss or limit in a trade at 12:01 and was told the market (AIM), was closed, and therefore got stopped out. I will genuinely go out of my way in the future to make sure people dont use this Broker. An awful, awful company who loses you money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

25-30 minutes waiting on the phone to get hold of the customer service every time; they lost my shares after the transfer from another provider; Customer service with poor knowledge (was advised to withdraw ISA cash from my other broker to my bank and then cash in to IG so the transfer would be quicker!!! instead of transferring directly between brokers) like the trading platform;

Lots of bugs in demo mode. I pay £30 a month to access to PRT. Unfortunately the service has been removed without notice. It means that I am paying for a service which is not provided. Service desk doesn’t reply Customers are not treated with consideration.

i have never had worst experience like contacting IG help desk in my life. My account got locked and it took 70 min to response since i contacted your customer care. Still my account is in same locked state. I couldn't close my positions when they were in profit. And even after 2 hours, they couldn't resolve my issue. One of the customer care person Kevin is the worst person i have ever spoke with. Such rude as if they are giving money to me

Web Platform crashes quite often which is a shame. Unable to see charts. Indicators dissapear. Unable to trader in the most crucial moment of the day (morning open). Volume indicator does not populate on their Spreadbet. Need to actually refresh your browser. Stay away at all costs.

I usually do not bother to write these reviews but the negative ones listed here are just unfair. I have been a customer for over 10 years and trade actively. The margin requirements are probably the lowest in town, in the 10 years I have been using them I may have experienced the app/site failing three times.... they offer good service, market updates, pretty much any security & option, flexible collateral solutions. Any losses are YOUR OWN MISTAKE - if you don't know what you are doing - like a lot of the negative ones posted here - don't get involved.... It seems everyone needs a nanny these days. Leveraged trading ain't for kids...

Do Not Trust This Company On a day when markets are crashing and I could have quadrupled my money, IG deliberately took down their platform at 8am when markets opened for over 40 minutes. Waited an hour now on the number they ask you to call instead! Absolutely unacceptable and legal action will be taken

Poor customer service. I withdrew my funds and as I did not receive the funds in my card I got nervous and emailed them asking where are my funds? They replied saying the transaction was not possible due to the short period of time I have been with them! that I can only transfer to one of the cards I used in the past which is exactly what I requested !!! the money to be transferred back to the same card I used initially. Now I have no idea where my funds are ....I am still waiting for a response as my funds are not in my IG account nor in my bank account !!!! I called the customer service number and no answer !!!!! I received an email saying I must request the withdrawal of the funds to the same card I used to fund my account.....but that is what I DID !!!!!! Where the heck is my money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waste of time. I opened an account to trade, spent time leaning there platform, deposited funds, but then when I tried to trade bitcoin, which they advertised that they trade, a message came up on the platform that the product is unavailable. When I called them up for an explanation they said they had reached there fund limit on bitcoin so where no longer allowing there clients to trade it! I deposited my money with them for nothing. They're totally professional and very misleading. There isn't even a notice on there website advertising this fact. So they are miss advertising that they offer bitcoin just to lure you in and get you to deposit your money with them.

I asked to be excluded from Spread Betting and leveraged products due to my suspicion that they trade against you, and instead of excluding from what I asked, they decided to suspended my account all together including my ISA. Which I specifically asked to have access to. I asked to exclude me from Spread Betting, because they literally steel money. Prices doesn't match the actual prices as they leave margin to close your position!!!!!! Stop losses doesn't work... Sometimes I have to manually close the position, why above the pre-set level. Trades doesn't get fulfilled, says price already expired, that leads into direct losses... All in all, their platform is build to take money form you. Clearly they are betting against you to make money as they have leverage to manipulate your positions. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

Terrible company, reporting them to the FSA. These guys are making a fortune hence why they have floated and done very well on the stock exchange. Do you wonder why they do so well? I found out unfortunatley, they charged me £20 for every transaction from Paypal, they told me its charges they have to pass on, I phoned Paypal and this is not true and why no others charge to deposit using Paypal. They advertised heavily for people to trade the Election, I thought I would short the market and as soon as some news come out they widened the spread from 1 to 15 points and spiked the price up rapidly taking out lots of stops before the price falling through the floor ( blaming low liquidity,yes thats right they said that on Election night when every trader round the world is trading it), there was no other such movement on any other chart and they remain secretive about where pricing feeds are from. I placed another trade on their platform and come back to find it stopped out, I checked the chart and the price had never hit my price so I phoned them and they told me I had made a mistake and put a different price in ( Lie ). This company is a classic example that makes its money from hedging profitable traders to take the spread commision and betting against new clients that statistically lose money, the incentive is for the guys on the trading desk to spike prices and widen spreads to take out potentially profital trades from new and losing clients and hedge or even back long term profitable traders. DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR BRANDING TRAP KEEP YOUR MONEY WHERE ITS SAFE IN YOUR ACCOUNT. I spoke to a guy called Simon Cater and another guy called Gio Pilides, their emails were vague and quite frankly said we dont give a t*ss. Simon didnt even respond to my queries and then when prompted about me not getting a response said ''Oh yeah I went home as soon as I got your email''. Thanks IG your real professionals.
