Just walked through after watching a film at The Curzon. It's a surprising little villagey corner. Used to be the place to pick up tarts, but seems to have been cleaned up.

Vibrant yet classy. With lots of restaurants. We dined at Sofra which is a mix of Turkish and Arabic cuisine. I enjoyed the wholemeal bread with hummus.

Popped in after visiting Apsely House. One of those pleasant surprises when you walk down one of London's many alleys. A number of Pubs and cafes to choose from. Had a light lunch in the cafe in the left hand corner with big windows that open fully.

Security/police patrol in the area is lax.
2 friends of mine (on different days) encountered problems. One had her handbag stolen. My other friend was started on. No security came to intervene, but fortunately there was a police car passing by.

The Shepherds Market is a great strip of pubs with something for everyone. There are four pubs, the Market Tavern, Grapes, Kings Head and the Shepherds Tavern. On a sunny Thursday or Friday afternoon the pubs are normally full of Mayfair workers who've kicked out for the afternoon. Can get quite festive on a sunny evening in the summer.
