MD Anderson is a well advanced cancer research facility but they might not be aware of more going on other research institutes. Do you want to know alternative methods that would surprise you and save you thousands of dollars? There are two American cancer centers that are actively researching on mycology and applications - City of Hope and Memorial Sloan Kettering. But there are some quite advanced researches done already and their products already continue to save even Stage IV cancer patients - most rejected by hospitals and expert doctors. You wanted to hear more? My brother suffered from throat cancer without eating and drinking for 3 days, and he is well now..

Really dislike the non english speaking/ thick accents. I could not understand anything that is being said especially when it came to medical terms. The phone call took way too long and I feel that neither of us understood each other enough to get anything accomplished. I understand this is a great hospital but when the representative on the line get frustrated with the customer calling in because i can't hear past his thick accent, that's a problem for me.

My family doctor is currently testing me for Cushions Syndrome. I am researching Doctor's who treat Cushions. A doctor at this facility is on the list. After reading some very negative reviews especially the one from the the Doctor who was referring his patients to this hospital, I will continue my research and hope this world famous hospitial turns its care around for the sake of these patients who deserve excellant care.

My local cancer doctor said I had one year to live, that was in 2009. Said I may not live thru surgery. I'm still here. Went to MD Anderson and within half a day, they diagnosed my tumor and said to live a happy, healthy long life. No cutting on this ol boy. Great staff, great doctor and the service was the quickest I could have ever hoped for. Nothing but great things to say about this hospital and staff. Thank you to all whom cared for me, from the Blessed family from South Carolina.

It's been a long time since Mother came to MD Anderson from Alabama for treatment. Unfortunately at the young age of 44, she lost her battle with Breast Cancer about one year after leaving MDA, but I just wanted to brag on this facility a little bit because Mother received TOP NOTCH care and service while there. They were so caring and compassionate in my Mom's care, and they treated her AND US like family. People come from all over the world for treatment at MDA, what they do is truly impressive. THANK YOU to all who helped with my Mother's care.

I always was very happy and impressed by the whole organization. I keep getting disappointed time and time again since they have changed the whole website. Every thing is so chaotic and disorganized. I am thinking about switching to another hospital. As a cancer survivor peace of mind is the first thing I need what I don't get from MD Anderson nowadays.

Run by State of Texas....pretty much says it all. Rated highly due to research NOT patient care. Treatment is just a paint by number approach - throw one medicine after another till something sticks. If nothing sticks you go to the poorly run research treatments - where they will just throw one after another research project at you. Jaded doctors who stay to put up sad research projects of medicine combos that have been around for 30-40 years. Not sure how they get funding. As soon as you check in, they annoy you with sad extra research treatments that are NOT needed, but will ONLY do if your covered by insurance. Nothing is free here. They make you believe you are doing them a favor by participating but they will only do if they can charge you. Sad. Stay home folks, do yourself a favor and go to a local hospital. Memorial has just as good cancer program as any other hospital anywhere. Must not like my reviews, keeps getting deleted.

Any cancer center that promotes the ignorance of a so called doctor that believes dog meat helps cure cancer is not worth the dirt on their front door carpet. Dr. Euishin Edmund Kim is supposedly highly respected here! IT is truly laughable but sad because it is such and ignorant backward lie. It has NOW been scientifically proven dog meat has less protein and more fat than chicken, so sad it had to even be proven. Such human arrogance, such human ignorance. Pitiful

Wife died during treatment at MD Anderson. Death certifcate was signed and dated by the staff at MD Anderson. I had no relationship with her insurance at all (i've always had my own). Continue to receive threatening letters from MD Anderson to her (she's been dead for more than a year) that if she doesn't pay, it's going to collections and then further, which is hilarious, because again she's dead. Screw this place, and the horse it road in on.

It was a great place until my Father stopped responding to their treatment. Then they refused to return phone calls, shuffled him from one Doctor to another with no communication between the staff. They would not listen to anything the family told them about his condition. He did not make it, which is the cancer's fault. But it was an awful and quick ending and I blame that on MD Anderson staff because he stopped fitting their research subject criteria. After the fact I wish we had gone to somewhere more focused on treatment and recovery than on research. He might have had an extra year that way.

I see a recent reviewer that says MD Anderson no longer takes United Health Care. I just checked my plan, and MD Anderson in Houston is still in my United health care plan. I am a current CLL Leukemia patient, and MD Anderson has saved my life. I was referred to MD Anderson by another nationally recognized cancer center. MD Anderson seems to do a majority of Cancer trials, and are years ahead of others. Probably the biggest mistake is people wait until stage 4 before going to MD Anderson which is rated #1 in the nation. I have yet to run across anyone at MD Anderson is anything less than professional, and care about every patient.

MISDIAGNOSED mammogram on my annual physical. Had to retake and the second mammogram technician said that the first result came out wrong because they didn't pressed the breast in the right way. What's matter having cutting edge technology if staffs are not skilled? The stress and fear for the WRONG diagnostic is unforgettable. Secondly insurance only covers once a year mammogram. The result is a $500.00 bill that I have to pay for their mistake. Very unfair!!!! Phone contact is a nightmare! I hope never ever be at this place again.

We are so fortunate to have a world class cancer treatment center here in Houston. I was diagnosed with late stage breast cancer in 2012. MD Anderson and it's wonderful team of professionals saved my life. I am so grateful for all the care and love they extended to me and my family during those dark days. Dr. Su was absolutely wonderful. She told me, "No worries mate, you would be back on the saddle in no time". She kept her promise and I am cancer free for almost 3 years. Thank you MD Anderson and Dr. Su for making my cancer HISTORY :)

The doctor treated my mother like a case study instead of a patient and refused to give any real advice or treatment options unless we committed 100% to going the full round of treatment in Houston (when we came from Dallas). She ended up dying and they STILL ask us for donations. The nerve! Worst facility I've ever been to. Complete waste of time and money. They don't care about your life, they only want your money and the ability to research in you so they can increase their fame. Do not support this awful institution.

I had the luxury of a nurse Practitioner Helen Monroe that was very rude and did not listen to the patient. Came in for a colonoscopy screening and talked more about the risks of the procedure than understanding my symptoms!. I have gone to various international hospitals and never been treated so insignificantly. There is no human touch to her approach. Unfortunately as part of the Shell program I have to use this service.

Well so far the doctors at MD Anderson are friendly and good at their job however, my complain goes towards some of the staff and the nurses. I came across some rude nurses and when you are going through a hard time you really don’t want some one to add more to that and just hope everyone is nice to and I find it really hard with MD Anderson nurses.

I went to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Tx and was denied medical treatment. I went to patient advocate and they were no help, ended up talking to several doctors none of which seemed to care. I tried to get a resolution of medical treatment because of cancer and was put off by the patient advocate office and had nowhere else to go for any assistance and I just want it known that M. D,. Anderson is not all that it's put up to be. After many efforts of trying to get for cancer I was denied any treatment and was told to leave and go somewhere else. For M. D. Anderson to be considered one of the best cancer clinics in the U.S., I found it to be unconscionable to be turned away and refused treatment of any kind.

January 2016 we were told that we had a good chance for a cure. On April 14, 2016 my husband of 38 years died. I tried for 3 weeks to get ANYBODY to LISTEN to me that something wasn't right...by the time I succeeded. ..he'd had multiple strokes. He had to stop treatment because of his altered mental status. I'm so disappointed in the care...or rather the lack of care by the hospital.

I am so thankful for this place! Here I can see one of the leading doctors in the world for Myeloproliferative Neoplasm disorders. Dr Verstovsek is awesome! It was here that I got the correct diagnosis and very likely saved my life. I've always received prompt and respectful treatment here. This is a huge facility and I will always be grateful for the work and research done here.

I'm still here from joining their clinical trials... at least 5-7 of them thru the years... well that AND MY LORD HAS CHOSEN TO KEEP ME HERE....but I totally respect and believe in The University of Texas MDAnderson Cancer Center!!!! I do believe that everyone who works here from the receptionists, nurses, phlebotomist, scan and testing technicians, and Dr's...EVERYONE who works here must be an "ANGEL"... it MUST be a requirement.... so sweet, caring and loving....THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

In 1982 while being treated by Dr Sudereth, my fathers left lung was punctured by an intern from Dr Sudereth's office causing the lung to deflate, fill with fluid and fill up the good lung causing death. The Hospital's autopsy covered it up with another cause of death. Negligent Manslaughter was the true cause. In 2015, an MDA's MRI technician neglect caused my wife to go into a panic attack damaging her fragile lung tissue causing blood to be coughed up and her death 10 days later. AGAIN NEGLIGENT MANSLAUGHTER. I Lost my father and wife to IDIOTS working for MD Anderson. AND because of the TEXAS Tort law limiting medical malpractice amounts, attorneys won't take the cases. MDA gets away with Murder. I recommend that the district attorney look into MDA and the cover up deaths immediately.

I took my wife there for 3 years. Every 6 weeks for 3 years. Put her on a plane from Indiana. She had glioblastoma. I knew it wasn't going to work but I wanted to take her to the best place. Every time Id get her down there, Id feel secure. id look up at night at the building way up high and read "The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.......and Id think, she's so small and this place is so big, they'll do something. I really knew, but that big bright sign and all the people with the lights still on in the all the windows everywhere...They were working on it.... She died after 4 years and 5 months of fighting it...and that was in January of 2014 and from time to time I still google MD Anderson and just look... Im glad I made her go down there. Id do it again.. They were great to her and were quick to see her and the bedside manner was EXCELLENT...from the Rotary House to Mays Clinic to the Brain and Spine Center on the 7th floor. Excellent. Every time I took my wife down there, I was thinking the same thing..maybe this time..this big place and this small nice lady.....

I had very long waits when I was there for an appt. I also could never get the DR. or her nurse to return calls. The female radiologist didn't tell me that there was a shingles vaccine out now and that I should get one. So I got the shingles and they are very painful. The Dr's were all very nice but I did feel like I was an on going experiment for many years. Finally, after 5 years their last coctail worked. I had stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.

I rushed in to Houston today from out of state under the pretense that I was having surgery soon. Got there half an hour early from my appointment with all my questionnaires filled out and ready then waited, waited waited. After an hour we check at the desk and the lady who had told us we were checked in, had not actually checked us in. So I get shuffled back to an office and wait for the surgeon to come talk to me. Once all 3 doctors are in there they ask me what brought me there and if I was having any immediate pains. I tell them my 3 week story of getting bounced around and all my tests so far, blah blah, typical stuff. Then I get told that surgery would be a month out at the earliest and that I could get back home for the time being. I call up my primary to let her know since she has half my paperwork and she says great then you can go back to work. And I'm like what?? No, I'm still dying right now. Then she says I need a doctors note. By this time I was back at the hotel and napping since sleep comes quick these days. So my husband takes my phone to message the hospital through the app (which is very helpful) asking my surgeons staff people to call him and they respond with a thanks for contacting us, your surgeon will contact you in a month to go over your concerns. Awesome, so we have no way to get the hospital to help us, nobody is filling out my FMLA paperwork so I may lose my job for no days, and I'm still dying. I wake up from my 5 hour afternoon "nap" that is more reminiscent of a coma and realize that I'm screwed all because we didn't go over my day to day issues since we thought I was just going to be prepped for surgery. I don't know if my symptoms are related or not to my tumor, I have a very rare tumor. But I was only asked about the immediate symptoms that lead to the appointments, not what was going on with ME. I'm VERY ready for surgery. But just because I don't have any sharp pains doesn't mean that I don't have concerning symptoms. When I wake from sleeping and I feel like I was laying on my brain cutting off the blood circulation and I have to stumble around to wake it back up, no I don't feel the pins and needles, but it's still pretty dang concering. It's not what brought me to the hospital and it's not "pain" but maybe it's related and we didn't even get to go over it. Hope I make it to surgery because nobody but me seems to care. It seemed they just wanted to push people through quickly, I was already under the impression that my surgery would be this week, even tomorrow possibly, but then they said it'd be a month from now then pushed me out the door.

My mother just began her cancer treatment at MD Anderson and what a total nightmare. David Ramirez should simply not be treating patients. He's extremely unprofessional and does NOT know what the definition of communication is. Also, the individuals that are employed as his 'staff' shame on you for not knowing the difference between right and wrong. Talk about a circus that needs to get it's monkey's in line.
