This is a very nice looking hospital. It looks like a fancy hotel in the lobby more than a hospital.

The staff and faculty are wonderful. The place over the maybe could have spent less fancy stone and wood and reduced high charges some. It is very expensive but the nurses, administration, and most of the staff are really very very good. I was diagnosed with stage four cancer and given short time to live. My doctor was very knowledgeable but far concernedifetent doctird about his research than his patient. Bedside manner left a huge amount of be desired. When I could see him he would leave my wife in tears and new depressed with rude, abrupt, and unkind behavior. I could never get questions answered even when he would show up. He finally sent me home to die totally unconcerned. I fought back and got a different doctor because I wasn't ready. That was a couple years ago. That changed my perspective completely. Take charge of your treatment, you know how you feel. Ask all the questions you want and expect answers. Don't let them gloss over the side effects and collateral consequences and explain alternatives. Many of doctors have a very vested interest in their studies. Don't think they mean harm, some just aren't as objective about you as they could be. I think by far most of it is great and by far most of the people as great, but be careful if your primary doctor is too interested in their research. Don't be panicked in a decision a decision. What I go there again, probably but I would be far careful up front. Being uncaringly sent home to die prematurely is not fun.

Care and staff is unparalleled. Great people. Only knock would be that we've had some hiccups with communication. What's happening when and what will be taking place. But this is the place to go if there's an option for care.

Dr. Agarwal is narcissistic. He threatened a friend of mine when she asked 'too many question' about nipple restoration. He fired me and cancelled my breast reconstruction because he claimed 'I didn't understand the surgery'. Meanwhile, as a result of the cancelled surgery, my breast expander stayed in too long and became severely infected. I ended up having to be re-hospitalize with massive amounts of antibiotics just to fight the infection. Dr. Agarwal was the attending (and it was awkward), and never did apologize for his role in the whole mess. My question was in regards to the DIEP Flap procedure. I have a Master's degree in psychology and I was simply too informed for his taste. So avoid Dr. Agarwal and you'll probably have a good experience. The breast surgeons and their staffs are wonderful to work with. I'd return to them in a moment.

Dr Dechet not only saved my dad's life, but saved his quality of life by offering treatment options another doctor at IHC said he was not a candidate for. Thanks Dr Dechet!

This isn't a horrible center but it's certainly not the best. I would like to share my story. The ball was dropped with my husband's treatment plan on several occisions. My husband had a major surgery here to remove stage 3 cancer and was minimally monitored afterwards. They did not impress upon us the importance of live tissue growth at the follow up. They told us his chest X-ray was clear and he needed one more matience round of Chemotherapy. Then our oncologist in Logan retired and the Huntsman took two weeks to get him in to their oncology team. Meanwhile his cancer was growing back like wild fire. I caught it by taking him to our local ER. By time I got him assessed ar the Hunstman he had a slim chance of survival. They gave him 2-10 months. He made it two weeks. They told me the cancer in his liver was not critical. He died of liver failure. This combination of poor decisions contributed to loosing his life at 30 years of age. If you deal with cancer get OUT of Utah and go to Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Even though he was very ill will a small chance of making it I took him out of state. At CTCA they treat you like a person. They work as a team to treat your loved one. There is no facility comparable. My husband's cancer was untreatable by time I got him there but, they kept him comfortable through an agonizing death. The child psychologist there went out of her way to get a book for my husband to record his voice. All of the staff was caring and compassionate. My husband received treatment at many facilities and there is nothing comparable to this place. You must ADVOCATE for your loved ones and know there are other options out there. Do your research be sure the best choices are being made. Dont blindly follow what doctors want to do. Ask questions and keep a journal. Don't be afraid to travel far to get the best treatment. Cancer is an ugly and unpredictable disease. Be informed when you make a choice. Make sure you have a team of specialists working together that communicate and listen to you. You are their biggest resource on the patient. I hope that this someone who reads this will make better decisions for their loved one and it saves a life. God bless all.

My boss went into the huntsman today after being diagnosed with skin cancer a month ago. She has been patiently waiting for this appointment to finally begin a treatment plan and get a CT scan. AND THE DOCTOR DENIED HER HAVING CANCER. She had her biopsy sent over from her original doctor and the huntsman said they agreed she had cancer. The doctor sent her home telling her she was "too young" to have cancer.

By far the best cancer research hospital on earth I go to Huntsman to recieve an ECP treatment where they take my blood out of me and thdn clean it of the GVH graph vs. Host disease with a liquid type chemical and UV lights then they return it to my body and I do this once every two weeks to get rid of the graph vs host disease of the liver that I have it in, but im fortunate to live within miles of this hospital for this treatment because there are others that come all the way from places like Tahiti and around the world because other than here the next closest place offering this treatment is on the east coast so people have to literally fly from around the world to get this treatment. I was one of the very first people to be put on this treatment last year when it was very first let out.
