Dr Jose Sebastian is outstanding and caring. I highly recommend visiting him. I suffer from dentophobia, but with Dr Sebastian and I feel very calm.
Cannot recommend this practice enough, the team is absolutely excellent and really do put the patient at the heart of their work.

I have visited the Portslade dental surgery twice in the last couple of months, once for a check up and once to see the hygienist. On both occasions the treatment received and the the precautions taken against Covid transmission were exemplary. As I have stated on previous positive feed back submissions for this practice,...... they make a visit to the dentist an almost enjoyable occasion.

I haven't been as a patient, but I wanted to write a review based on the incredibly positive experience my husband had speaking to their receptionist, Maria. He has been struggling to find an NHS dentist for some emergency work he needs and Maria was so incredibly helpful and patient with him, explaining the process and giving him advice on what he should do next. We've had some awful experiences calling into other practices and I wanted to call out Maria for being absolutely wonderful and human during this horribly difficult time for all of us!

I have just joined this practice and had my first appt with Mark the dentist and Anna the hygienist on 11th Jan 2021. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful and made it a really positive experience. I am so glad I made the change and it's a 5 minute walk instead of a 30 min bus ride inro Brighton. Amazing team

Since COVID he had experienced some bad news and combined with this seems to have a bad infection.
You Guys and Girls made a real difference today and helped my Son in many ways to get better.

Very friendly reception on arrival. Very tight guidance around Health and Safety in this COVID-19 period. The treating doctor, Mr Rubinas is Excellent and makes you feel comfortable. Loads of explanations during the process and loads of after care. I could not have made a better decision when choosing this site for my interventions and would recommend it to anyone.

The dentist's attention to detail was exceptional. I required two sessions firstly to have the old crown copied and decay beneath removed and secondly for the new crown to be made and then fixed in place. Much drilling and constantly checking to get everything 'spot-on' correct and then tidying up so that I was totally happy. The dentist is a real professional who clearly took great pride in his work and was willing to spend the time necessary to ensure everything was right, and explained what needed to be done. I was well impressed with Portslade Old Village dental surgery and the skill he exhibited. I can't recall his name but he is Lithuanian and I rate him 100%+. Trevor H..

Receptionists are always smiley and welcoming.
I receive free treatment and am always stunned at the great quality of service. Many people whom I speak to that do not pay for their dental treatment often complain they don’t get great service but I disagree and always recommend my dentist. 10/10. Also the dentist who has been seeing my children for years is very patient and kind. I will never change my dental practice. Thank you

I have been receiving treatment from this excellent dental practice for several years and am currently having some dentures made for me. I am astounded at the professionalism and care shown in the processes involved. I feel like a private patient but as an NHS patient and a pensioner I am still treated as one. I cannot highly recommend this practice enough. Thank you Portslade branch.
As an update, I have just been fitted with my new dentures by Dr Venetia Ververis (Vanessa) and what a brilliant and caring process it was! Nothing was too much trouble and the fit not only looks natural (even the colour of the teeth) but I can now eat properly for the first time in years, so once again thank you but especially a big thank you to Vanessa.

I have been coming to this practice for many years i have always found everyone really helpful, from the phone call to arrange appointment all the way through to leaving is always a pleasurable experience ,i dont like dental treatment.. who does!! but i have lost my nerves ,the place has a friendly close knit feeling about it and always bump into people in the waiting room that i know from the village and around . Well done Old Village for consistent good service xx

Having gone to this same dental practice for many years I can honestly say that the treatment I have received has consistently been of the highest possible standard. This week I went with great trepidation to see a new dentist there, and found her to be exceptionally gentle, considerate and professional.
The receptionists are always kind, and are real people (not an ogre in sight!) and have always gone out of their way to be helpful.
I would highly recommend this practice without hesitation!

I’ve been with this practise for 30 odd years. I love the fact that the receptionists have been there as long as me i’m a little scared of the dentist so it’s nice to see some friendly familiar faces when I walk through the door. Nothing but, praise for my dentist Mark who is always considerate of my slight fear. My only issue is how long it takes to get an appointment but, I guess that goes to show how popular you are.

Have recently had a big course of treatment ,first time for years I’m so glad I went I have my smile back! Dentist and nurse where fab throughout with my nerves and gag reflex ,reception staff can’t do enough to help with appointments,I work abroad and was fitted in with my visits home ! The dentists and nurses are all very nice and well mannered but the two receptionists are having a contest to see who can be the most ill mannered. They don't look at you, don't even acknowledge that you are there and anything you say or do it appears that you are only a nuisance to them.
UPDATE: every time I have to go to the dentist is a bad day for me and not because of the money I have to spend or because I am scared, but because of these two receptionists.
Today I had an appointment, when I entered the reception area there was only one receptionist who was chatting with a customer. Chatting about this and that and not chatting about work or appointments. Of course the receptionist didn’t aknowledge my presence at all or say anything to me. After chatting for 5 minutes (while I was waiting), another member of the staff entered with shopping bags. The receptionist and the other member of staff then started chatting about what the latter had gone to buy (while I was still waiting) and they then proceeded to go and check their purchases in another room leaving me there alone in the reception area.
So I stood up and went away, I am not going to give my hard earned money to these people who have no idea what customer service is.
I can honestly say they give one of the worst customer services I’ve ever experienced in my life and mind you… this was the “less rude” one of the two receptionists, imagine the other.

You wait ages for an appointment and are reminded that cancelling without proper notice leaves you liable to pay for the treatment. I get a voicemail at 2:15pm to cancel a 6:30pm appointment - even though the member of staff called in sick in the morning. Next appointment available was over 6 weeks away. Absolute shambles!
