wonderful active venue in a buzzing vicinity. . Very easy to get to.. cool inside, high ceiling exposed brickwork constructing with archways and the bar doesnt get too crazy. a pleasing length for small/medium gigs, worth following for up-and-coming artists. much less than 10 mins walk from Liverpool St and old St Station. loose Parking after 7 nearby, oh and The sound gadget bangs..!!

Interesting venue, perfect gig type venue. Was there for a corporate event so was presented well. Imagine the toilet situation can be difficult, long queues. Easy to get to, near stations.

Went here to see Guided By Voices. Great little sweatbox of a venue with a brilliant atmosphere for live music but didn't seem geared up for a sell-out event resulting in very long queues around the block - we arrived a good half-hour before the band were due onstage but only only just made it in before the gig started. Drinks were extortionate but that's just Shoreditch.

Like stepping back in time to the 1940 top class would recommend to anyone who's in to this ...I'm from the northeast of England n I would definitely make the effort to come again

Great intimate concert venue/art space. The staff were all polite and friendly. The acoustics were quite good as well. The washroom was also well maintained.

This is a wonderful venue. Fantastic crowd of knowledgeable music fans. The sound is amazing here, a perfect sized venue. They always host fantastic acts. One of my favourite gig venues in London. Love it ????

I saw Guided By Voices - the greatest band of all time - here, so of course my memories of this place are nothing but extremely positive. Expensive beer though.

Saw Oscar Jerome, awesome lights and great sound in the venue! The warm up acts were great and the night was really well organised. Drinks on the expensive side though, and there was a short queue to go outside and smoke, but other than that, really good.

Big and spacious venue where quite a lot of gigs are held. Drinks are bit pricey though, beer cans for the price of a pint. Sound as well is not the best, probably because of the arch structure it has.

I didn't realise how much I value a high ceiling in a club until I went to Village Underground. Great sound system. Even greater ceiling height. Would recommend.

Great intimate concert venue in Shoreditch. Not to big or too small, but perfect for seeing your favourite up-and-coming band. Not so great if you're short stuff and the tall people are in front because then you will see nothing but the backs of the tall people and maybe a tiny sliver of light of what might be your beloved band. Good acoustics. Bar accessible but off to the side, as is fitting and right.

Nice venue with good concerts and amazing lights! - the only thing is the sound wasn’t adjusted well a couple of times and drinks are very expensive.

Great soundsystem and location, never too full either. Only downside there is nowhere to sit down and have a break from dancing. Given its open until 0600 you need somewhere to sit and re-group between sets!

fun venue if you like a good rave, big enough to find your own space. small enough to not get lost. I found the tickets a bit pricey at £20

It's a really fun place to watch a gig, small and atmospheric. It's a bit easy to walk past if you don't know where it is though!

Excellent venue with quality music every time and craft beer and cider. Can get a bit hot at times but otherwise brilliant with space to dance and a decent chill out area.

Lovely venue. Great the use of space to create good atmosphere for music. A little humid when packed but that's the price of a popular gig. Bar was big enough for the size.

Stock up at the bar because you'll be waiting a long time to be served. Sound system is very good, toilets are far too small for the number of people they cram in at the events. People mainly here to take selfies and videos of the light show not really here to dance. Not like it used to be.

Its a good venue, there isn't enough toilets for the women especially. The security was cool on the door but busying themselves inside.

I visited last Sunday for the first time for Channel One Sound System event. I found Security to be friendly and professional including the compulsory search. Entering inside venue, the strong smell of damp. Ugh! It's an arch, I get it but a turnoff but after awhile I'd (grudgingly) gotten use to it... Seems a lack of toilets, only saw 3 for women. Feel sorry for the staff attendee couped up in that tiny space! At Bar if you don't want ice you are served less than 200ml of lukewarm and insipid tasting supposed-juice drink, which to me equates to the cheapest of the cheap box drink charged at a high mark-up price to the customer! So I guess with ice, whilst the drink would obviously be cold, it would be tasteless! Bottled water same lukewarm temperature. Catering on the night included authentic-tasting rice n peas with chicken and salad and a really nice hot sauce. Definitely enjoyed! A hit with the music, food and door staff and security but so-so venue with an expensive bar.

I've been here a few times. Shoreditch already has a culture so the crowds here are interesting and the bouncers are nice and friendly. Decent but small venue in an exciting place. Long queue for ladies toilets which are small. Wish it was larger with better graphic branding/decor and more diverse variety of DJ's.

Nice venue, but cocktails were too expensive, and the staff is unprofessional, very rude and mannerless.. especially the security, they killed the whole vibe. I was disappointed, if they'll ever organize another live concert there I'll definitely not go.

Very good venue to watch gigs, it jas good sound and it's big enough to feel like you are in a crowd but still holds an intimate feel to it. The bar could be better, there is no taps but their selection of drinks is decent. Security could be friendlier but I've seen worse, make sure you bring an ID with you!

Good sized venue of maybe 300/ 400? Great acoustics. Bar a bit pricey especially as they have a no re- admission policy. Door staff good and professional, they require everyone to have ID and I'm Methuselah!

Saw Poliça last night, they were great and the sound was fantastic, such an unusual and amazing venue. Only thing was, the place had a really strong smell of some kind of cleaning product. Like domestos but a really sweet variety. I was nauseous by the end. Really weird, I have no idea if that’s common.

we celebrated NYE here and it was a blast from the past! The thema was Blitz (for the ppl that don't know....its 1940 and the Germans bomb London). Swing dancing, ration cards, everyone in 1940 gear.... we loved it. Best NYE party since I was 20.... ;)

I was so excited to go here. When I arrived everyone was welcoming and friendly. The first (of many) security asked if I had an invitation which I didn’t so he said I could pay £10 cash. When I get inside I realize you can pay for nothing without cash except for drinks at the bar but the purchase must exceed £10. I proceeded to leave only to realize that there is a ‘no return’ policy. At this point I’m thinking “they are really making it difficult to have a good time”, I had to explain that I was leaving to go get cash and come back. Thankfully(!?) I was allowed to leave. On my return I was search again but this time it was by a female security (by the way she wasn’t there the first time). She begins to rub me down like its the palace I’m going in to and begins to search every corner of my belongings. Please don’t promote your venue as “A SPACE FOR CREATIVITY & CULTURE” because the territory that comes with this you aren’t prepared to accept and this is evident through your security protocol. People just coming to hold a vibe and this Babylon woman searching looking for reasons to mash up the vibe. No guns no knives move on. Its 2020! It’s a reggae dance what else you expect to find?! Fire and more fire ???? Things get real sour. Promoters, Channel One, know who ya dealing with and come better than that nah man! Who have eyes to see will see and it’s only matter of time before things come to pass. How customers are dealt with on the ground says so much about those on top. This is not a place for reggae. Reggae is freedom from Babylon! You have people walking into lion’s den.

What a lovely venue that creates a cozy crazy space for attendees. There's a spot for anyone and everyone, elevated, up front, far back with dancing room. I recommend buying a ticket and going to check out Village Underground

this venue is so small, intimate and incredible! i came here to see 'Lane 8' and he put on such a good show! it was sold out and the line moved quickly to the point where it felt like it wasn't even that busy but inside it was shoulder to shoulder. the sound system and acoustics were great and that also includes the lighting and production
