Went in for a waterproof coat. They gave a good selection at different price points but unfortunately they didn't have my size. Staff where nice and helpful

As there are few outdoor shops around its ok.
This is part of JD sports group. Effectively aimed at outdoor clothing as everyday wear, or for those once a year trips to the countryside.
The selection is really just own brand (Peter storm, euro hike etc) or cheaper stuff with a few bits from the bigger reliable brands. Prices on these are high but that’s to encourage buying their own brands.
Outdoor equipment (not clothing or footwear)can be a reasonable price but limited.
Staff are friendly and have little knowledge about the products.
Perfectly ok as a showroom to look at stuff but much cheaper elsewhere online.

The staff were very friendly and helpful in both finding what I wanted and demonstrating its use. There were maks and antibacterial spray available for customers to use and the store was not over populated.

January sales, good selection and most items 50% off. Staff polite and welcoming. Just be prepared to hunt for that bargain. Good selection of rucksacks and camp gear but can be a little pricey.

Placed my first order which was cancelled due to no stock.1 Week later it is back on the website as available so i reorder it....and they cancel it again. I put in a complaint and they apologise saying they have now taken it off the website as they have no stock. I check and it has been removed . I day later it is back on their website as available so i reorder for the third time. Surprise surpise they cancel it again!! This is absolutely shocking customer service.i am appalled by their service !!

They have a large selection of products but not at the best prices. There offer items were good but limited.
I can find better elsewhere but the shop is still OK.
The store front was damaged and had wood around it which was a bit unattractive so something must have happend to the door but the shop overall was OK, there was someone who invited us as we arrived which was nice.

Not the premium products offered by blacks, the shop seems cheaper, staff not as helpful. Was a bit disappointed. Will still use, but I miss Black's.

I love this shop. Brought my son a 3 in 1 coat from here and he loves it, worked well in the dales. Got my wife some wellies aswell, turned out we got 2 right feet just need to return them

Awful customer service. Ordered a coat in October, still not received by December. Then told there was an online fault and stock not available, so told money would be refunded within 5 days. 2 weeks later still no refund.

I've spent loads in here over the years but won't be going back again.
Service was beyond poor.
The staff all stood around the till chatting, even looking up at us waiting to be seen at the shoe area and going back to their chat.
When we did get help after going to interrupt their important talk about weekend plans, we waited a further 30 mins for the assistant to come back with an armful of items to explain they didn't have my size.
Would have been nice to be told this before she carried on picking items for the shop floor.
Sorry to say, it looks like the helpful and knowledgeable staff have all left.

It’s summer and had one pair not in my size
Asked staff and I can’t believe how unhelpful they was and so so missable.
I spend a lot of time outdoors but will not ever go to this sad place again.

Visited midweek and were followed around by a member of staff even when we said that we were okay. Felt more like surveillance than customer service and we kept being steered towards the expensive goods. Returned on Saturday and had a totally different experience. The guy from L.A (with the Canadian accent) was so professional and not at all over bearing. Many thanks for your help.

Has a good selection of stuff, from footwear, to jackets to camping stuff, not the cheapest of shops for your outdoor stuff, but we got got a really good price on a camera to use on bike,£74 instead of £220, unfortunately the reason we got the discount was because they are closing down, not sure when didn't ask, this was at the Riverside store.

A bit of a weird shopping experience. Nice range of products, but for some reason, I found items really difficult to find. Also, some staff seemed to be quite knowledgeable, whereas others didn't seem to have a clue. Prices are competitive though, so if you know what you're after and they have it in stock, it's worth a visit. With a bit of staff training, this store could be much better.

Good customer service and a good range of kit. It's probably the only place to buy good quality outdoor gear in Northampton and is always worth a look before heading elsewhere. They usually have a good selection of offers on the sales rack by the door.
