Excellent service, Ellie who I chatted to via email was very helpful, sent the coat I needed repairing off by post and got it back well within the timeline promised, the quality of work was excellent and you'd never guess the repair was ever needed as the work she had done has made the coat look new again, thankyou very much Clothes Doctor!

Ridiculously bad. The back stitches are neither straight, neither in the middle, neither parallel... Shame on them. The alteration done is not the one discussed (I can still see on mark of what was agreed). It took in total more than 3 months because the initial measurement were not correctly taken and because of internal delays. They ruined my trouser and they think that it is fine.... I would like to believe that it is a bad joke. In addition they lie pretending that it was the job agreed... Shame on them.

For a surprise I had my Husbands ( not expensive or designer) Summer jacket shortened , it had spent most of its life in the wardrobe he always loved it but never felt totally comfortable in it. He has now worn it more the last few days than since it was purchased 13 yrs ago. The cost per wear that was @ £50 has already reduced to @£25 in the first week & that includes the cost of Clothes Doctors alteration costs. Superb !

Really great experience. Dropped off a knit top and a jacket for repairs (moth hole and broken long zipper, respectively). Just received them back, and they look as good as new! Absolutely seamless work. I am really impressed. Easy to order/pay online; choice between dropping off or posting the items; items ready when they estimated that they would be; and great repairs. Will definitely use in the future (in fact, I'm looking through my wardrobe now for any items that need to be altered). Thanks!

Sent off 2 leather jackets for repair - one for zip replacement, the other for a patch of suede to be replaced. Communication was good with the Clothes Doctor staff and the repairs were excellent. The suede patch replacement was fantastic - the colour and texture match is superb. I am happy to recommend this company and will definitely use them again for clothes repairs. The cost of repairs is extremely good value for money and the quality of the work is outstanding. Overall a very good experience with this company and I'm really pleased with the results.

I sent a pair of silk trousers which had badly ripped. The staff came back to me quickly confirming they would take on the job and I received the trousers back today. The repair is flawless and cost was very, very reasonable.

Prompt response to enquiries (email sent by them at 7.15 am in response to my query of the previous evening). Very simple to use, with lots of communication (parcel arrived, parcel in our workshop, parcel returned). Very good darn on a long-lived and much-worn men's cashmere jumper. Very reasonable prices. Heartily recommend.

Clothes butcher more like. After taking 4 weeks over what was said to be a 10 day job they returned my clothes looking as though they had been altered by someone with no sewing experience. Shortening resulted in sleeves that do not hang straight with enormous, lumpy, machined hems, and trousers with hems several inches deep. I could have done much better myself and I wish I had never taken my clothes anywhere near them.

Highly recommended service! Most friendly and helpful team, skilled and willing to take the time needed to provide an A+ job. Reasonably priced to mend or alter clothes of monetary or sentimental value. Personally, my items included cashmere sweaters and dresses with holes. They did a wonderful job and the holes have been filled in and you can't tell they ever existed in the first place. They also performed an anti-moth treatment, and cleaned and brushed the cashmere so it feels, smells and looks brand new! Thank you to the team! Also, they are most responsive and very good with customer service/emails/phone calls.

The workmanship and quality was very good - you would never know any change had been made; however I thought £30 was very expensive just to take some small dress straps in. I was initially quoted £17 which I thought was okay but was told that a final quote could not be confirmed until the order was already placed. So I only learnt it was £30 the next day via email. As the company already had my dress it was far too late to retract the request. In saying that the turnaround was very quick and customer service was good.

I learnt of this wonderful service from Dragon's Den (who really, really missed a trick for turning them down). A repair to a very very fine merino cardigan was outstanding. I now have another four projects lined up for these expert craftsmen/women to restore my clothes to newness! If there was a branch in Bristol, I think I'd live there.....

4 months!!! That's how much I had to wait to repair a jacket. And it was after being constantly calling and complaining without answers through all possible ways (I even contacted them through Google maps!)
They almost never answered the phone nor the mails, so I went there physically after 2 months just to see my jacket untouched (they had not even started!!!). Once there, I choose the leather that I wanted to repair the jacket and I gave them instructions, just to receive a call a week or so later asking if I could tell them which leather I wanted (I was astonished!) so I told them that I had already done that.
Anyway, after 4 months, I was tired, so I called to complain and ask when I would get it, and then I was told that the work was finished. Either I was lucky and I called precisely the day they finished - doubt - or they are so unorganized that they forgot to tell me that.
On top of that (yes, there is more), when I went, I was supposed to get a liquid to apply on the jacket every few months. Guess what: I was told I had to wait 2 more months for it. Buuuut, it gets better because once those 2 months passed, they told me that apparently this was a mistake, and I was not supposed to get anything, that they don't offer that service and that the employee who told me that I was going to receive the liquid was mistaken in having said anything.
I wonder how much would have taken hadn't it been for me constantly calling, mailing and going physically there (which was a big annoyance).
Anyway, as you have seen in other comments, they are ridiculously slow. This is NOT a cheap service, and I expect people to be professional, not making up excuses ("oh, yes, person X was I'll", "oh, we lost your contact").
Also, if you buy here, do not expect any compensation for the wait.

Thoroughly recommended. I had a reversible faux fur jacket the zip of which had broken. Most places I took this jacket to refused to touch it saying the repair was too difficult because (1) the way in which the original zip had been inserted, and (2) the difficulty in obtaining a replacement zip of similar length. Contacted the Clothes Doctor on line with photos. A few weeks later my jacket has been returned with repair beautifully completed. Very grateful as jacket was quiet expensive and am now able to wear for the first time in years.

great experience with the clothes doctor! certainly the fastest and most affordable clothes repair service in central london - zip replacement on jeans for only £13 and completed in one week. Other prices from other businesses offered me up to £25 and a turn around time of 3-4 weeks! Very happy with my repair - would recommend clothes doctor highly and would definitely use again!

I had a great experience with the Clothes Doctor. They are based around the corner from my office so I was able to pop in for a quick fitting with the dress I wanted taken up, they measured up and took the garment away without issue. The service was super efficient, with a 1 week turnaround, regular communication on timings and the cost of the service. I was really pleased with the work, they took up a dress for a wedding, that was made out of a very delicate material - the job was completed perfectly.

I had a few things done here. Simple shorten alterations were good but I had quite a delicate dress getting the hem fixed but I feel like the stitching was much too tight and is pulling on fabric quite a bit. I had my jacket waxed here too. It came back with wax clumpy everywhere. The order also arrived back a month later. They are very responsive and gave me updates when I sent through enquiries but I would appreciate some updates or options to send a few pieces that are done back first, rather than me having to chase up.

A great experience from start to finish. My questions were answered in full before I posted my item and when I received it back, in a few days, the repair was just what I hoped for. My beloved Nicole Farhi jumper is over 29 years old and purchased when I was pregnant with my daughter hence i'm very attached to it. When a moth hole appeared and the seam split I thought I would not be able to wear it again. The repairs are perfect and I can wear my jumper again with no worries. Really disappointed by this company. I saw on the website that it takes usually 7-10 days to get back an order but that’s been 5 weeks that I’m waiting mine and each time I'm asking, I’m told than it’ll be ready in 2-3 days. I can understand if some repair take more time than others, but still 5 weeks is TOO long and plus it would been nice to let the customer know about a delay. But I've never received any emails or call to update me about this and I still don't know when I'll receive my clothes back. So really upset and even though the customer service is polite and nice, I won't use their service again.

AMAZING! I bought a second hand denim jacket, to my surprise at home I realised it had a few cigaret burns on the sleeve (only photographed one). In the fear of it making me look a bit scruffy, I never wore it. After Clothes Doctor had a go at it - my jacket is good as new and I now wear it daily! Thanks so much to the fantastic team! I discovered Clothes Doctor through Google when i was looking for a site/service that would do a repair on my leather shirt. I've used leather specialists in Brick Lane/East London for other items but the service and quality was never good enough. My beautiful leather shirt had a tear under the collar and i had no idea how to fix it. You can chat to someone on Clothes Doctors about the repair that needs doing, saving you the hassle of finding a specialist that can do it. I chose the drop off pick up service from their office in Farringdon as its close to my work. The repair was ready in 7 days, although i didn't receive an email to say it was ready and i had to chase (hence the 4 star rating), BUT i am so happy with the repair as it was an item i loved and worried i would have to throw away. They've made the tear look seamless as its part of the design. I would highly recommend the site to anyone that has clothing that needs some TLC. Am now searching for items in my wardrobe that have holes, need mending!

My first visit to The Clothes Doctor was a very happy experience, I arranged for an expensive pair of ski pants to be repaired and chose the local drop off option. Clothes Doctor sent me a zip-up bag into which I placed my item and then took this to my drop off location. I was kept informed of progress throughout the repair process and was offered various options, the item was returned to me very well packaged and as good as new. Costs are very reasonable and I will definitely be entrusting any future repair or alteration work to them.
