I spent over £6000 with this company for three rooflights: one big lantern light and three flat rooflights. Let's start with the positive. The salesman was very responsive and open to options shipping these items to Ireland. Also, the rooflights are very attractive.
Now, the negative. The lantern rooflight required assembly, and assembly instructions were inadequate. This required extra time and expense from the builder. Not that big of a deal. In the end, the lantern rooflight ended up looking very nice.
The three flat rooflights were all installed correctly, with proper flashing as per the instructions. Upon the first heavy rains, though, it became evident that there was a defect in one of these. We brought it up to customer service at Roof Maker, and that's when we started getting the run around. At first, she said it wasn't installed correctly, then that the flashing wasn't properly in place (always quick to assign blame elsewhere). After weeks, we finally got instructions to return the rooflight and to get a new one as a replacement (which we would have needed to pay full retail price and delivery for). At that stage, our construction project had progressed significantly. The rooflight was in place, and we had no choice but to have our builder repair it (at significant cost to us).
Roof Maker refused to discuss reimbursing us for this expense. Furthermore, the customer services executive that we'd been corresponding with was just plain rude.
We saved some money by going with Roofmaker for our rooflight needs, but it's now clear why they're cheaper than the rest. I would not recommend doing business with this company.

Unbelievable customer service, but not for the right reasons. After 5 weeks, still no closer to receiving a roof lantern and no idea when it will arrive. Delivery booked twice so far, first time informed at 5pm day before it wouldn't be arriving and second time on the actual day. Both times wouldn't have known if I hadn't phoned. Nobody ever knows the answer to your questions but are always about to have a meeting about it then come out of the meeting still with no answers. Do not expect your calls to be returned. I've concluded that this roof lantern will never arrive and have asked for my money back, was told this will somehow take 3-5 days, so I expect it back sometime in December. When I mentioned that it seemed odd that there was no attempt to retain my custom and that cancelling my order seemed to be offered as a solution I was told by the staff member that it "wasn't their company and made no difference to them if I cancelled or not."
I feel this quote totally sums up my experience with Roofmaker and strongly recommend that you avoid any involvement with them at all costs.
UPDATE:
In the spirit of fairness, after leaving this comment, I was contacted by Roof Maker and have now received and installed the roof lantern. Nice product, I'm very pleased with it.

Blinds mechanism which costed £600 failed whiting 6 month of use. Maintanance came to replace it with a retro fit system and stuck a heavy mate angle on double sticker tape yesterday. this morning is fell down from 3.6m height straight onto the chair of the dining table. Luckily no-one was hurt but my child and mother was only 2 m away at the time.

This company is dreadful! Do not touch with a barge-pole. This company promised me that the roof lights I ordered would not allow my extension room to become too hot in the summer months because of the tint in the glass. On the advice of their sales advisor, I ordered two roof lights believing that the advice he gave about the product was honest and reliable. However, when the sun is out and shining, the roof lights do nothing to prevent the room from becoming unbearably hot to live in. This company told me they would investigate my complaint that the product had been missold and was not as described. After months and months of chasing, they eventually told me that they didn’t have any phone recordings and that the salesman had left the company. They refused to take my complaint forward or to offer any form of resolution. I am extremely out of pocket and left with a product that is not fit for purpose. This company is very dodgy. It has done everything to avoid responsibility and treating me fairly. Disgraceful. Avoid.

If I could give a ZERO I would. Received 2x roof lights 7 weeks ago... there was supposed to be 3. I've called them must be 15 times now, always told that they'll call me back.. NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. Never an update on when I can expect the third window, held up my build and had to tell builders to take on other work elsewhere as I doubt we'll receive the third one before Christmas, if ever.
Have been fobbed off with multiple reasons - Waiting on parts for the electric opening motor (6 weeks ago), it was damaged in construction and needs to be re-made (5 weeks ago), waiting on a motor again (3 weeks ago), now recently they cannot give a reason why its not ready nor can they give ANY date or timeframe on when to be expected
Looking at other companies now to fulfill as have zero confidence Roofmaker will provide a window within the next 6 months and they have absolutely ZERO INTEREST in helping or assisting. Whenever I speak to someone they are more interested in getting me off the phone ASAP and always say they'll check and call me back. To this day I've never received a call from them, always me calling them.
Absolutely appalling customer service. No concern or interest in helping customers. Happy to take money. Not happy to actually provide a service.
Also shows the type of company that they only ever respond to 'positive' reviews left for them and never address the negative ones

Do not use this company. We have paid a lot of money for a large roof lantern which requires a pane glass to be replaced that they damaged. The pane of glass was meant to have replaced one week later and no one ever showed up. I’ve been contacting this company for weeks. No one in customer services replies and when I ring I get told to to ring back for an update but there is never an update!! Disgraceful customer service and poor product. I’ve no choice but to engage my solicitor to get our money back. Check out companies house, their accounts make interesting reading!

I have used Roof Maker on 2 occasions where the level of service has been great, their technical support for specifying windows on a one off situation was exceptional.
Communication is always key, and timelines on both occasions were exact. Great products and customer service so yes a 5 Star Review rightly deserved.

Placed order on 15th September and whilst being assured that it would take 20-25 days for delivery I am still not sure when my two roof lights will arrive! Delivery was scheduled for 27th October and having made several calls to confirm delivery I have now been told that they will not be arriving and they aren’t able to provide a date.

4 flat rooflights were ordered and paid for on 11.09.20. Delivery of these rooflights happened on 19th October. However only 3 rooflights were delivered despite payment in full for all 4 being made. I have been advised that there are significant delays in supply but I haven't had an explanation as to why only 3 were delivered when I was originally told 4 would be delivered on the date promised. Despite numerous calls and emails to them I am no closer to having the 4th rooflight delivered. I am being told they are having supply issues but I don't understand how they managed to make 3 out of the 4 rooflights. When you call their number there is an automated message saying they cannot take your call and to leave a message. I have also received an email from someone called Vanessa to ask me not to call or email as it will delay them sorting out the delivery of my product. Absolutely awful company and judging by the recent reviews they have become very poor. I would avoid buying anything from them.

Took our money in full before delivery was organised, then cancelled the evening before only say the new date would be another 4 weeks away. After waiting 5 weeks we are out of pocket and have no skylights. It also cost us 4 men for the day and extra hire on scaffold. Avoid this company if you can.

When dealing with any company in any business you never actually know how good they are until something goes wrong and then you see how they deal with this new situation.
I purchased a roof light from this company 8 years ago when the company was Reflex Glass. A couple of weeks ago I had to contact them with a problem.....
I couldn’t have asked / expected anything more than I received, from the communications to start the quick responses to emails to the professionalism of the fitters. The service would have been classed as excellent in normal times but given the current situation in the world with Covid-19 it makes it all the better.

Pretty good product. We have fitted various roof lanterns and this one was straight forward. Watch the video on YouTube first as no instructions were sent with the item. There are some improvements that could be made to the design to make it a five star product. An internal lip to take the top edge of the plasterboard would be a good design improvement as is found on some other competitors products and also the glazing tape does not always peel off on the full length as they say. 3 out of 8 glazing tape covers snapped half way down leaving the glazing unstuck in those areas. A stronger plastic is needed on the tape so it won't snap whilst pulling it off. Note: this is not shown on their video! only a computer graphic.
Also sealing the glazing at the bottom with silicon would not be my preferred option. Why doesn't anyone make one with a good rubber seal that is compressed by the weight of the glass. Simple!
However, all round it is a well made product and the client is happy. It looks sharp and was very straight forward to install.

I had a roof-maker electric skylight in my new build property and am fairly happy with the product, however it is roof-makers customer service that has earned them a 5-star review.
The motors in my skylight needed replacing less than 2 years after installation which is somewhat concerning, but the customer service throughout the process has been great. the engineer team were prompt, efficient and very friendly! they even provided me advice on improving the skylights life. the customer service team is also very competent and helpful, even going out their way to help smooth payment with a very tricky developer, which was beyond what you could consider their normal scope of duties.
Overall i think their products are good (maybe not great) but the customer service has been very good which is what counts with things like this.

What a great experience. I purchased a roof lantern from this firm 3 years ago, they installed it and the service was superb, no issues at all. Recently we experienced an issue with one pane of glass de-laminating. I called Roofmaker and the same day they responded giving me a date that they would come and replace it. They showed up on time, fixed it and left. Both the office staff and installation team could not have been better or more professional. Definitely recommend.

We bought one fixed window and one electric roof windows from this maker recently. The fixed window is fine, but the electrical window turned out arrived with faulty; the window is not attached properly, so very wobbling when opened by the controller. We reflected on this issue with the Roof windows maker.
However, they insisted that it is our fault to break this window, and wouldn't reply to our request to exchange or fix the window!
We were trying to be reasonable and explain to them that we didn't break or fells it into the ground at all; it was already like that. Furthermore, even the window is not functioning after use; they should take responsibility to fix it because there is a warranty!
The service was very disappointing, and we're still waiting for their reply, and our whole construction was on hold just because of this window...now I just wish they can get back to us soon...

I found them an excellent company to deal with. Everyone was very helpful, My first contact was Trevor Briggs who answered all my questions and emailed the quote, Two days after I placed the order I had a telephone call from Helen advising the date of delivery. On the actual day of delivery the installers called to advise their time of arrival They introduced themselves on arrival, made very little noise or mess and were gone within two hours.
Why can't every company provide that level of contact?
Everyone who has seen the roof has been very impressed

I sent a photo of changes to my pyramid roof light to ROOF MAKER. The same day the issue was identified, a replacement ordered and a date for repair booked.
The repair was undertaken by fitters who knew what they were doing and were a pleasure to meet. All work was under warranty. This is a professional company with high standards and great customer service personnel.

We first came across this company at the Grand designs show and were really impressed with there large opening electric roof light. We purchased this over a year ago. We recently had a slight technical issue which was due to how we installed it ourselves. Roofmaker where excellent and came out straight away to look at it. They resolved the issue without out any quibble. This is the kind of customer service you need after purchase and is very reassuring. I would not hesitate in recommending there products in the knowledge that it is backed up with an excellent after care team.

There's an argument that says you don't know what good service is until something goes wrong and needs fixing.
Well, there were a series of glass issues with my job - some pieces tinted, some not. I wasn't the suppliers customer because a builder was involved between us but he couldn't care less, so I had to contact Roofmaker direct.
So now the story really starts because Emma picked up my distress message and took charge from the onset - 3 visits in total to get it sorted but now it's all done, looks brand new and I'm really glad these folk responded so positively and quickly. 6 outta 5 Emma - Love & Peace Baby

The delivery was first class with a very helpful driver & the lantern was simple & easy to install giving a wonderful result. the installation has been put to the test since installation with heavy rain & winds. it's as sound as a pound.

I do have some reservations about Roofmaker. Their product is good but I have found their customer service variable. They called me to ask how happy I was a few weeks after an installation of roof windows. When I explained I wasn't very happy with the way the order had been handled they initially reacted poorly. But we resolved our differences in the end.
So overall, a decent, good looking product and we got there in the end on service.

This is the first time that I have used the Roof Maker pyramid roof lights on one of my projects. The windows were easy to install even though they were flat pack and assembled on site. Excellent quality for a premium product at a good price. I would reccomend to other and use again on future build projects.

Roof Maker, more like Roof Breaker - A complete rip off company, whom lied, missed deadlines and were incompetent. Their product is inferior and the sales team will say whatever it takes to get you to pay. Once they have your money they will delay and deceive. There are many alternatives which I will now be trying. I am a developer and need these sort of products about 3 times a year, feel free to contact me for my recommendation once I have tried others - but no one can be as bad as these cowboys. Just look at the photos of what they did to a property we took every care over to make perfect - which is now ruined by this company. I will be pursuing them legally and through their insurance company as they broke their contract in several ways. AVOID this company at all costs.

Avoid them! They are only good at taking your money beforehand and then leaving the job incomplete! They were supposed to install the roof lantern on 19.11.18. They arrived and didn’t check if all pieces are ok. Installed the lantern and then said oh sorry one pane has been smashed, leaving us with one pane missing. Was promised they’ll come back to install it few days later 23.11.18, but no one turned up and didn’t even bother calling me to advise they won’t come! Then was promised they’ll come tomorrow 29.11.18, but again last minute received an email that unfortunately they won’t be able to install it tomorrow. Tried to call and no body wants to talk, only promises that the manager will phone us back. No phone call back received. I am so disappointed, after spending so much money I’d expect far better service. Left us with a “hole” in the roof in this rainy and cold weather!

I was unsure with sizing details and spec etc, the sales guys were very helpful. They also spoke to my builder for finishing details.
Now its all up and the extension is finished. Looks fantastic. Just in time for some spring sun.

Not quite world class rooflights. They have supplied 2 flat rooflight, of which 1 showed signs of condensation within 1 month. After some time they have sent their surveyor on site and he has established that it was a manufacturer's failure. After good two months of negotiation they have agreed to supply replacement rooflight but they didn't want to cover fitting costs. So it turned out another £1500 more expensive for the client to arrange fitters to return and install replacement window. I am very disappointed and would recommend to avoid these guy under any circumstance.

I made an online enquiry and they contacted me in less than 24 hours which was I was very impressed with. The level of service was great, the person I spoke to was very professional and friendly. Had a great deal of knowledge about there products. The bespoke products that Roof Maker offer are brilliant and made to very high standard. I have been looking at competitors websites also and Roof Makers website is so user friendly and very straight forward to use. All the glass has a 20 year warranty compared to other competitors who only offer 10 year warranty on the glass.
I would recommend Roof Maker to all family and friends.

Good product and great sales service. Delivery was prompt and as agreed. But.....what about after sales service? It's not good to say the least. I have a minor problem with one of the items I bought - it would be an easy issue to resolve, but I'm having to chase, chase, chase. Consider before buying. John Lewis-type customer service it is not.

2k walk on roof delivered covered in scratches. Took 6 weeks of me constantly trying call and get situation sorted, in the end had to accept money off (which just covered delivery) as no solution in sight. Now have to live with brand new window covered in scratches. The fact you pay completely up front doesn't help the situation. Roof maker, please don't respond to this with message about how customer service is important to you as clearly not the case.

Back in late 2015 after much contemplation about which company to use to supply and install 3 large (2m x 1m) rooflights on our home I decided to go with Roof Maker. To be certain they were going to be of the correct quailty I visited the factory in person and was really impressed with the whole facility.
I duly went ahead with the order of 3 Lantern Rooflights (one sliding). The installation went exactly to plan and I have been delighted with the impact they have on the appearance and comfort of our home.
I have had a recent (February 2019) minor maintenance issue since then and I can honestly say the after-sales service has been faultless and I continue to be very happy with my decision to go with Roof Maker. I hope you find this review useful.

Dreadful company, purely interested in getting money off you then not bothering with any issues you may have. We wanted three, 3m portrait windows with one that opened – after discussing this with their sales guy and him referring it to a technical member of staff we were assured it wouldn’t be a problem providing we paid 6k straight away! When they arrived they were landscape and unusable for our needs (landscape was never discussed!). When I rang they said that they didn’t even do portrait windows that way! We have only just received an official response from after 3 months of pestering saying they are not willing to do a thing as the Ts and Cs are clear (48hrs from ordering to complain). Do not trust this company – they will either say anything on the phone simply to get your money and then forget about it or they are technically incompetent (or both).

I purchased a 1m x 2m roof lantern. Before purchase, the sales team were able to provide the weight and construction details required by my structural engineer. Delivery and installation was done exactly as required by a professional and friendly team. The lantern looks great (fitted to a GRP covered flat roof extension). My only very minor niggle was that I didn't receive any kind of paid invoice or other confirmation of payment at the time I paid (by debit card), this only arrived at around the time they lantern was fitted which was several weeks later.
