DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IF ZERO STARS WAS AN OPTION WE WOULD HAVE CHOSEN THIS. We bought 4 roof lights from Roof Maker several months back - 2 fixed flat and 2 opening for a pitched roof -spending thousands of pounds. Our builders fitted all 4 with no problem, however when the electrics were connected up only one of the mechanisms for the opening roof lights worked. The other made a terrible clunking sound, even when the weight was supported by the builders, the chain curled and the window juddered. Upon closing it made a high-pitched beeping sound. We immediately contacted Roof Maker about this. Their customer service is shocking. As with many others who have left reviews, we have found them to not answer phone calls or return our emails. When they do, it is at least a week later and usually after us having to chase. It took weeks to get an engineer out and the first one who came did nothing. The visit report was then fabricated and the issue apparently resolved. When we pointed this out it was blamed on a 'dodgy engineer who has subsequently been sacked.' After several more emails and phone calls we managed to get a second engineer out. At this point, the parts were still intact but, against the advice of our builders, the engineer opened the window, unsupported, causing the chain to sheer off. Roof Maker are trying to claim that the damage has resulted due to the way the window was handled / installed, as we now note they have done with many others who have left reviews, but this was categorically not the case as the evidence shows - it was at least intact albeit not operating as it should until their engineer messed with it. The window doesn't even close now!! Both windows were installed in the same manner yet one is faulty - therefore how can this be a handling / installation mishap? We will be reporting Roof Maker to trading standards. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND PROVIDE YOU WITH SHODDY PRODUCTS AND EVEN SHODDIER CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Smooth ordering process, price was keen for what we required. Delivery was on time with an exceedingly helpful driver (apologies didn't get his name) who helped carry the rooflights in to where we needed them.

While the skylights purchased from Roof Maker are excellent (so far at least...), the same cannot be said of the remote control blinds they were supplied with. The blinds are fault-prone and Roof Maker's after sales service is appalling. I should note the site-technician (Kerum) was excellent and very helpful and that it was Roof Maker Head Office team who were hopeless. From reporting a fault on a blind that was still under warranty to getting it fixed took 112 days and countless emails and phone calls. I pray the blinds do not go wrong again as I don't think I will be able to cope with dealing with customer service again...

I am sorry to report that I would not recommend this company at present. They forgot to process the order, they then supplied the wrong Bifold Doors, when finally admitting their mistake they supplied and fitted the correct ones, but the glass on 3 of the sections was faulty, they then had to replace them. I can rarely lock the main door first time, the rubber seals keep coming adrift, the seal in the runners keeps coming out, the main traffic door catches and has chipped the paint on the other door. The handle on the traffic door is coming loose through constantly trying to lock the door unsuccessfully. Several nights I have given up and had to leave it unlocked. The roof light was fitted with a faulty pane of glass which was replaced but this should have been picked up in the factory. They rarely come when they say they are coming out, any phone numbers given seem to get lost in communication between different departments. I have no idea what to do next as they are clearly not fit for purpose. A very expensive mistake. I ordered the roof light and Bifold Doors in February and I am still waiting for them to complete the fitting (it is now August) as they put the wrong sealant on one section and have yet to put in two other sealants. I am struggling to give them one star. I note they have had a new CEO, maybe if he could come round to inspect the doors and see first hand what the problems have been and are surrounding: - Design, Order processing, Inter Departmental Communication, Delivery, Quality Control, Workmanship, Customer Care, Customer Communication. Roof Maker are an expanding business and for them to succeed, they need to address these issues urgently. I have never written an online review before, but I have now!

Would suggest the pyramid units be avoided at all costs as 10 year warranty worthless if units have to be returned to factory for inspection. 2 of the 4 sealed units on rooflight now misted after 5-6 years and cannot easily be replaced in situ . Costs associated with hiring crane again, transport costs and temporary weathering make these units best avoided. Would recommend looking for more traditionally glazed options in frames that can be easily replaced. Disappointing that roof maker can't undertake survey

I purchased two roof lights early 2016. On 30th June 2018 we heard a loud bang coming from the ceiling. My daughters were sitting directly under one of the roof lights where the internal pane had exploded. I ran over immediately and told them to run as far away as they could. Fortunately they escaped just before the glass came showering down into the room covering me in glass. I am extremely lucky to have small superficial cuts but my daughters are understandably traumatised. The glass fell with such a force that it has caused considerable dents and scratches in our floor, our window seat and the step to our patio doors as well as damaging the decorating around the roof light. The outside pane appears to still be intact proving that this was not caused by an object hitting from above. On three occasions this week their customer service (who almost never answer their phones) said they will call and failed to do so. Finally spoke to them yesterday and was shocked there was no apology, no asking if everyone was ok. They simply stated that no company will cover the glass in their warranty. They are trying to suggest that this just happens sometimes, offered me a free replacement window as a special favour (saying this does not amount to liability which they seem terrified of), but the major cost of these is the installation plus repairing the floor/window sill which was damaged by this horrible event. So use this company with great caution. The product is fine if all goes to plan but don't expect any kind of customer service if it doesn't.

If I could give no stars I would. Purchased two rooflights from Roofmaker and they then sent the invoice via post TO THE CLIENTS ADDRESS! This has since cost us further work at the property which we were to receive. Terrible experience!

I'm having a poor experience with Roofmaker. Since mid June we've had a roof window without it's £600 blind because Roofmaker haven't yet managed to successfully fit it. Customer Service never answer their phones or answer emails so I call via Sales to try to get answers. I've wasted 3 unpaid days off work to wait for engineers to arrive - if they arrive at all - then not at the agreed time - to find the blind is again too big to fit the window. The service is dreadful. Keep well away from Roofmaker.

I ordered a skylight with a rain sensor over the phone with a sales rep. I received the wrong order. After calling the office over 10 times for 2 weeks straight to discuss the situation i got the same reply of the managment team are in a meeting and well get back to you when theyre out. Really disappointed as ive paid money for something i didnt order and they wont do anything about it. Useless company. Avoid

My builder fitted a roofmaker flat rooflight about 18 months ago. Two months ago, the bottom pane of the rooflight exploded and showered my living area with small shards of glass. Despite the rooflight being under warranty, customer services advised me that they had no responsibility for replacing the rooflight as it was not an issue with their rooflight. I was astounded as the company make it clear that the glass is manufactured by themselves and is structurally integral to the unit. The company eventually agreed to provide a replacement rooflight without charge. If the company has no liability, why do this? They also contributed a small, minimal, amount to cover labour. Again, if there is no liability, why do this? I would avoid this company at all costs as they seem to fail to appreciate that their rooflights are fundamentally flawed. They cannot assure me that the rooflight will not explode again.

Very disappointed with Roof Maker. After fitting 4 flat roof lights to our extension the seals on two have blown which means water has leaked into the unit. I reported this issue to Roof Maker 8 months ago and it has still not been resolved. They have sent someone round who said they are faulty and they will be replaced but this was 3 months ago and still nothing. They then sent a very dodgy looking roofer round last week who spent at least an hour just standing on my roof and left without any explanation or even saying good bye. Haven't heard anything since. But I'm assuming they are going to try and fob us off by saying they have been installed incorrectly, which I know would be a lie. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They supply inferior products at a premium price and offer no service what so ever!!!

We have ordered the flat rooflights. When it arrived we have noticed that the sealant was fallen off and corners were poorly mitered ( they claim that they give 20 years warranty for this). We contacted the company but they were not responding to us. So we really got stuck with the faulty product and no chance to get a resolution for the issue. We are disappointed with the service. I hope somebody will contact us regarding this.

Since my initial review it seems a number of "Happy Customer" reviews have appeared over the top. Claims from Roofmaker about "High levels of customer service and caring about customer satisfaction" in my experience could not be further from the truth. I was basically made to feel like a liar and left with water coming through a faulty roof light. Not good at all... I would also certainly question the authenticity and source of some of the latest "customer" reviews. If you are considering purchasing products or services from Roof Maker Ltd I would seriously consider looking at alternative options. My experience of the company to date has been a very frustrating and time consuming one. Following the installation of a fixed flat roof-light, 2 years on the integrity of the unit itself become compromised with seals around the glass cracking and perishing due to weathering leading to water leaching under the glass. When initially trying to report these concerns to Roof Maker I struggled to speak to anyone with any technical knowledge or understanding of the products. Constantly being fobbed off with promises of calls back and solutions that never materialised. In total it took 30 phone calls, 15 e-mails and two site visits over a 5 month period to get any sense from them. Eventually after contacting senior management within the organisation they claimed “At Roof Maker we pride ourselves in providing our customers with the very best in technologically advanced product and customer service” which made me laugh out loud! In my experience this was far from the reality. After the second visit to my property it was advised by the Roofmaker representative the issue was in fact a “known and common fault” which he had seen on “numerous” previous occasions. Following this revelation I then receive an e-mail from the Roofmaker CEO advising no liability would be accepted as the faulty seals were being attributed to incorrect customer installation. How exactly that is possible I am still waiting for an explanation! I’m sure Roof Maker will claim this is an isolated case and that they have loads of satisfied customers which may be the case. However based on my experience it maybe should have come as no surprise they eventually chose to ignore the issue blaming the customer rather than take any responsibility for a product with a “known and common fault” which is clearly inferior and not fit for purpose. As you can imagine all of this means I would certainly not recommend Roof Maker to any future customers. In fact there are plenty of other alternative roofing solutions out there which may prove a higher quality and less stressful option. 18/01/17 Just had a look at the reviews left since I posted the above following my own experience. Safe to say it just confirms the incompetence and suspect products supplied by Roof Maker. AVOID these Jokers...

Rooflight was faulty, made a huge mess of my newly plastered walls and ceiling, called their customer services for 4 months and left messages but got no response. I've now been told they have been busy, in this time the leak has got worse, and they are now saying I have to wait another month before they can get an engineer to me. I would not recommend Roof Maker or use them again.

Well I have to agree with last few reviewees, these guys have proven to be absolutely useless. They began with we will look into it and get back to you to now totally ignoring my request for help. My Roof Lantern condensates on the aluminium framework as soon as temperatures outside drop to low double figures and less then drips constantly over my wooden floor even when heating had'nt yet been turned on. Installed last year it's been nothing but a burden. I have even tried including the new CEO on emails to no avail. Customer service...Huh!! Does not even deserve one star but Google insists. In fact, I wonder if this would interest watchdog!

Not recommended, their customer service is terrible, their staff seem to only work a few hours a day. They make mistakes and deliver the wrong sized window then don't try and resolve the issue but just give long lead times for replacements. Avoid if you can.
