NEVER recommend this vet to anyone that i know. Our cat has been here for the past 5 years and not one time he needed care they they were ready and professional. Last time, we met 4 different vets in 4 days, paying for all 4 days of course. They didn't have any idea what the cat had as it likely was only a vaccine effect! So, using our concern, they 'robbed' us with super expensive exams that hadn't detected anything indeed. There vets are really more sales than vet, they don't care about pets. We are finally get rid of them and moved to a very professional and caring one, so they exist! And our cat is happy too.

The care our little terrier received after being bitten by a big dog last week has been exceptional. Our vet, Samantha Nightingale, could not have been more compassionate, explaining the process and rationale behind all of her decisions, putting our worried minds at ease. We really felt he was in the best hands possible. Our little guy is well and truly on the mend now with a (very neat) bruiser scar...soon to be covered by scruffy fur again! Thank you ???? A wholehearted recommendation for this veterinary practice.

I am really impressed with the quality of care from all the staff I have met at Canonbury vets. They have cared for my kitten from a young age and have been really helpful. When my cat had to be neutered they were very warm, friendly and always on hand for advice. I would definitely recommend!

This was my first visit to Medivet Canonbury and our first trip to the vet at all since Covid. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They put my dog at ease and helped me get him back on a healthy track after I'd admittedly fallen behind on his vaccinations and deworming. Very grateful to have their expert care!

I can not sing enough praise for how much I love this vet. Having moved down from Manchester we were without a vet for our two fur babies, then we stumbled upon this place and they look after not only them but us as well. Anytime there has been cause for concern they are straight there on the phone for us.

We’ve been going to this vet for about 4 months, purely because they are within walking distance and so it’s most convenient with a small puppy. Have never been hugely impressed with the service, which is generally chaotic, but the staff are nice and it’s close so continued going. However our latest experience was the final straw. Took puppy in to be spayed and was first chastised for being late (they never confirmed a time with us, telling us just to “drop her off in the morning,” so I arrived at 9.30). The vet then showed me the price estimate which indicated the procedure would be £550! Was quite shocked at this given the going rate for a spay is between £150-£350. When I questioned the vet he then admitted there was a charge of a blood test on there which she probably wouldn’t need as it’s only required for older dogs (so why charge her for it knowing she’s a 9 month old puppy). With the blood test charge retracted it went down to £420 which is still far higher than the national average and there was no additional service or quality for this price. Perplexed at how they got to this figure. Before we were at another Medivet in Clerkenwell which we had to leave due to a series of inexcusable blunders including: constantly mixing up our cat and dogs records as they’re both registered there, botching our cats spaying a leaving half the ovary in there, and just general chaos and confusion with scheduling and appointments which at the time we put down to the COVID situation. After these experiences we’ll be steering clear of any Medivet in future.

Staff always provide a high level of professionalism and the vets show genuine care for all the pets they see. My dog Rocco Bethencourt is not an easy patient and has quite a reputation for being difficult but the staff always welcome him with great warmth, patience and understanding. I would like to also add the Italian lady and Portuguese vet nurses are always super hands on and professional. (Apologies don't know their names). They are huge asset to the practice in my opinion.

I have always been very satisfied by the service of this clinic but since the pandemic it has gone downhill. I understand that it is tough but you are certainly not the only ones suffering from it and it is not a reason to take this on your customers and patients. Staff was rude and pretended to be busy when they were 3 sitting behind their desks. I had an appointment in the morning for a very specific procedure. The vet came out without reading the file (had to re-explain the situation), took the cat in and told me the procedure would be done by 1-2pm. At 1pm after calling i was told to pick up the cat by 6pm as they had not done anything yet. Instead of gently calling the customer to let them know there was other emergencies being dealt with and to reschedule, they preferred keeping the cat in his cage waiting since 9am. I clearly disagreed and asked to collect the cat and bring him on another day. They started getting very disrespectful and told me to pay for the “time the vet had spent on the cat”. This made me understand that clearly the well being of the animal was coming after the money. Don’t blame the pandemic, a lot of people are in the same boat and we should be all supporting each others. I will not be going back there until it becomes welcoming once again. Edit 1: I have sent an email as per the answer, i never got a response.. Edit 2: I took my cat to a different vet after transferring his file. They found he missed his last booster/vaccine. They also found he was suffering from bad gingivitis. Again this was not flagged by the vets (I had about 4 appointments this year, the last one in November) when they said my cat was all fine many times.

We have been with Canonbury Vets for years and happy with the service until they missed a prescription label on pain medication which led to us giving the wrong dose to our puppy by 10 times. Canonbury vets admitted our puppy for treatment (which required her eventually to be hospitalized for 4 days). Although the lead vet admitted on the phone that 3-4 mistakes had been made by the practice that led to the wrong dose, they still charged us for the full treatment. I filed a complaint with Medivet resulting in no admission of mistakes made. We will be changing vets as we consider this to be negligent practice and no acknowledgment of responsibility.

I've been at this vets for the past two years and every time my pet needs attention the level of care and there attitude towards owners is very unprofessional, i feel that they are money grabbers and barely tell you step for step they are more worried about you payin, i think that they have extortionate prices and i found that the vets were just generally very rude and unhelpful, each time I say to myself this is the last time i will come back here. I have now finally left this vets and would NEVER recommend this vet to anyone that i know.

Our 7-month old puppy had an accident at the park and started limping intermittently causing much distress! After a couple of fruitless and disappointing phone calls with other practices we found Medivet and, although it was a bit further than our locals, we decided to give them a call. We were hugely impressed with the staff, who were extremely helpful and empathetic, and were given an appointment within the hour. Once there, the exchange was quick and our pup was whisked in for an examination. We were kept updated on his progress and he came out a much happier and more comfortable boy! The customer service was 10/10 and the vet professional and knowledgeable. We will for sure be making this our go-to veterinary practice!

Just called them now even do they are not my vets. The lady on the phone was super helpful advised me about my car as she has runny stools for 4 days now. Recommend digestive food and was really professional.Will go to pick up my cat’s food from them to help with digestion. Thank you

I love this practice. Wonderful vets and no long waiting times for an appointment. The vet I saw with Isaac (my cat) was amazing; so friendly and reassuring, and gave me lots of detailed information. Isaac hates going to the vet but even he liked the lady this time! There’s also a lovely little shop - perfect for picking up some treats to say well done to Isaac for being so good. The shop has a nice variety of items too; quality foods, treats, bowls and toys. It’s so very worrying when something is wrong with a pet, but I know at this practice he’ll get everything that he needs. I love that they have the facility to perform minor operations and I feel reassured that, via the practice, I’ll always be able to access the best and most cutting edge treatments available

I'm happy with the treatments and caring attitudes of all staff. My dog has been registered with the practice since I bought her 9 years ago and have not had a negative experience in that time. My African Pygmy Hedgehog is also registered, I was happy that I was able to take her to get her nails clipped! I would definitely recommend the practice to others.

Modern, well-staffed vet’s surgery. Privately owned for a number of years but recently acquired by a chain of vets. Services include a couple of consulting rooms and the full range of services from dietary advice to surgery, via routine vaccinations. They have a real focus on nutrition and whole-life care for the pets. Friendly. Open on Saturdays.

Alwas have such a great experience bringing my pets here. I have 2 cats and a dog, and the team are always so knowledgable, helpful, and most importantly- caring. no matter what the appointment is for, I find everything very thorough. The vets and nurses do a great job especially with their many facilities on site. I especially appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness of the team as soon as I walk in the door, whether its just a friendly hello or real greeting of my pets with lots of treats! No wonder my animals love coming here! The reception team are always so helpful, whilst being so busy most of the time! Sasha is a receptionist I see a lot on the front desk and is always very smiley and helpful, along with everyone else on the team- I just never catch their names! Thank you Canonbury keep up the good work., from me, Bella, Harry and Fred.

The Vet was amazing with the cats and had new techniques for making them feel at ease when we arrived. She was thorough yet efficient, and very pragmatic in treatment. I also thought it was a nice touch that she called one of my girls “lady” ???? (they are 8y.o now, and they’ve been cared for by CanVet since kittens). Takes me 30mins to get to there, but I always leave knowing it was worth the drive. Thank you for making my little “Lady” happy & well again.

This is a lovely vet, they are always very kind to my cats and they have seperate dog and cat facilities to help keep everyone calm. Really highly recommended for their compassionate, gentle service and lovely staff. They also have grooming facilities on site, hold a weight clinic where you can bring your cat in for a free weighing, and crucially: are open on weekends! I switched over after an emergency visit last year and have never looked back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had to take a dead stray cat to be chipped in case it had owners. Unfortunately it wasn't chipped but the kind vet agreed to dispose of the body, which is not a usual thing for vets to do as it costs money. A generally very pleasant experience despite the circumstances. It also feels like a lovely practice and I heared clients being very thankful as they were leaving.

The team at Canonbury vet looked after our beloved dog for the last 9 years during her various complex medical issues. Lovely reception staff- ( esp Sasha and Luisa) who really care and gave Loop lots of treats and care. Efficient and helpful arranging appointments and completing insurance claim forms. I have been using this vet centre for my cat Olivia for a year ever since we've got her and had no problems whatsoever so far. However today we saw a new vet whom never attended us before when my cat needed her annual shots. From the minute he walked in, he said that he was busy since it is a Saturday and needed to be in and out really quickly. It was very rushed and we barely had 5 minutes of an appointment where he kept saying that he had to get out ASAP. It was a very rude and discouraging attitude we felt and my cat was very scared of the whole time she spent in his hands. I believe that an invasive procedure can be handled much better. Overall, it is only a lovely vet clinic if you are lucky to have your appointment with a good vet who actually loves their job and animals, but otherwise beware that you and your pet might be made feel very anxious about the experience there.

I needed to get the certificate to bring my dog back to my country, so there are just a number of vets authorized to fill the forms , this is the reason why I could not go to the vet who has been seeing my dog. I made an appointment with Alberto, however my appointment was changed 3 times which was really troublesome for me as I had arranged everything on my work to get the permission to leave early. Finally, I had to ask another person to bring my dog to the clinic. I made a mistake when I filled the forms, reason why Alberto had to call DEFRA spending around 30 mins in the call. After that, he called me by phone, a bit bothered as he could not manage to make my dog swallow the pill, threatening me to get the vet as soon as possible, otherwise he would charge me more money is I do not get the vet in 20 mins. I had to leave my work and explained my manager the reason why. Finally, I was charged around £160 in total as the the appointment lasted 1 hour , and he did not overcharge me. Moreover, while he was seeing my dog, saw another pets and the way he talked to me and my friend was not pleasant. I can understand people who work under pressure as I am a doctor, but this is not the right way.My complain is about the way he manage the situation rather than the money itself. I really hope this comment help the clinic to improve the service

The staff at Canonbury Vets could not be better. I took my puppy Cocker Spaniel Rory there at 10 weeks for his first puppy check and have been back many times since. All the staff and vets are so friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I’ve been in with a few different health issues with Rory and no matter which vet I’ve seen they have all been excellent with him, giving great advice and treatment.
