I have been coming here for a couple of years, starting with a Groupon. Every visit has been fantastic. Beth has taken me from a redhead to a blonde beautifully. The service is second to none. Cannot recommend them highly enough!! Will be returning again and again.

Didn't like the arrogant manner of the man (I think owner) who cut my hair. Left me waiting for about 30 mins after my appointment time. "Jokingly" wouldn't tell me what he was going to do with my hair because it was a "surprise" which I didn't really like. Left cutting my hair three times to answer the phone... Generally just poor service. Hair isn't cut very well at all, but I guess you get what you pay for (£19) - ends are uneven and my layers are not long how I asked them to be. Don't like the end result at all!
Wouldn't recommend and definitely won't be going back again. Sorry YST.

Lovely salon, excellent staff and got a super good deal on the cut and blow dry with a steam pod hair straigtening chucked in! The owner was so friendly and lovely, the coffee was great and I will definitely be returning ????????☕

Service was unbelievably bad - Didn't accept the GROUPON voucher and then asked for CASH payment in full - I said I had card - but they wouldn't accept. I had to go to cashpoint and leave my daughter in salon as a guarantee that I would return!!!??? Would not recommend if you are looking for professionalism and good customer service.

The best hairdresser in town. Always cut me hair beautifully and how I want it. I can usually work in to get appointment on the same day (weekdays). The staff are always kind, helpful, polite and very professional. I highly recommend this salon as I've coming here for last two years.

I have been going to Jamie for several years and he always gives me personal and caring service, and a great haircut that remains very manageable. I feel I can freely discuss concerns regarding my hair and receive good feedback and suggestions. The salon has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere with friendly interaction from other staff and low tempo music. Good value and always a great experience.

Really liked my hair cut at my first appointment, but cancelled my second appointment due to the rude manner of the man (owner I guess) on the phone. Too busy to speak to me both times. This is understandable but the way he spoke to me, like I was an inconvenience - both times, was not. There are too many salons in Brighton and Hove for me to have to put up with bad customer service.

I wouldn’t recommend. Had Groupon voucher but told they wouldn’t accept anymore Groupon customers for 2 months (!). Just wanted a wash and blow dry for special occasion, I was very specific when I said blow dry. Ignored me and my preference for blow drys - not straighteners. He ignored me and used straighteners. Must have gone over each bit of hair 15-20 times. My anxiety was through the roof. I have very fine hair so this many strokes was totally unnecessary. My hair looked awful after, he shaped my hair terribly and my hair was frazzled. I had to go to another hairdresser for a cut and seek Olaplex treatments for several weeks as my hair so heat damaged.
For info the hairdresser I had was approx 50 + years of age and male. I can’t comment on any other staff who work there who could be very competent.

Do not buy a groupon for here - very rude on the phone - was happy to give a cut at same price as groupon if you cancel and book direct - why participate in an offer site if you are unwilling to honour the deal?

Went here a few weeks ago for a haircut and highlights and I'm really happy with the result. The manager was friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted, and even stayed open late to finish my hair! I will definitely be back.

Visited YST in Hove recently, as I was in need of a 'good hair day'. Great experience. The staff made me feel very welcome, and Jamie did a great job with my hair. Very reasonably priced and excellent service. Wouldn't hesitate to revisit.

I had a cut and finish at YST last week. As it was curled I didn't notice how awful the cut was until I got home and straightened it. One side is longer than the other, it is not layered like I asked and the fringe is awful. It looks like it has been hacked at by a child! I went back to complain and was told to make another appointment with the same stylist- as if I was going to let her loose on my hair again! I was refused a refund or even partial refund. The girl who cut my hair also stank (breath and hands) of stale cigarettes. Not conducive to a relaxing salon treatment and certainly not something I wanted to put myself through again! Seriously avoid this place, it's cheap and nasty! Disappointed.

I went to get my hair dome in YST last night and I must say I was very happy with the service received. When I walked in I was meet by a lovely lady called Beth who took me to my seat and asked what exactly I wanted done today.
I explain what I was after and she happy to help.
Beth took me to get my hair washed and it was lovely, I enjoyed an amazing massage where I could of fell asleep it was son nice.
She then took me back to my chair where she cut my hair and keep the conversation so there was no awkward silence.
I am very happy with my hair cut/style and glad that Beth listened to what I wanted and done this for me.
I will defiantly be returning to YST in the new year to get another amazing hair cut and receive excellent customer service.

I bought my wife a groupon restyle here. The stylist stated she couldn't cut my wife's hair the way she wanted it as it was too short (my wife's hair was below her shoulders). It was rushed and my wife left feeling totally deflated. Can not reccomend at all.
