Do not use this cab company. Booked a cab to go into town to see a show. Cab turned up 30 mins late!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Rang the controller 3 times and every time was told it was 5 minutes away. Use another cab firm.

Nice on the whole but the worst set of taxi drivers for judging if you want to talk or not. One of the drivers will pick me up after night shift I will be falling asleep and they keep waking me up because they want to talk. It makes me wait for a bus because I just want a relaxing journey home.

Not even worth one star, but you have to put a star. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS FIRM. THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND RUDE. THEY LET OTHERS GET IN YOUR TAXI AND ARE PATHETIC WITH THEIR EXCUSES. DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING THEY SAY. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, EVEN IF YOURE DESPERATE. HAPPY TO BAD MOUTH THEM ON ANY FORM OF SOCIAL MEDIA.

Rudest and most incompetent people I ever got to deal with. Booked a taxi for the station the day before for a early morning train. 10 min past the time when the taxi was supposed to arrive, I called to enquire about the whereabout out of my driver only to find out that "they didn't have enough drivers to come pick me up" (even though I had booked in advance and they had confirmed they could give me a ride to the station). The absolute best part was that they didn't even bother giving me a call as soon as they realised they didn't have enough drivers so that I could have at least booked another taxi or make different arrangements. Not even an apology. They then said that they would send somebody to pick me up right away however about out 5 minutes later they send me a text to cancel my my reservation without any reason or an apology. Needless to say, I missed my train thanks to them and almost missed my flight. Avoid at all cost!!

Half the time you get decent drivers who are doing their jobs and being very patient. The other half you get useless drivers who will try and lengthen the route and hover the apps with booked rides, cancelling when a higher paid ride comes along. Will also get funny about any luggage they actually have to carry in their boot.

Last night my sister and her friend got robbed on their way home. Several drivers quoted them £40 to drive them from the seafront to bear road (less than 10 minutes drive) so they decided to walk home by themselves.... fortunately residents nearby heard the attack and called the police immediately. They are in shock but unhurt and got a lift home from the police. I just wanted to remind taxi drivers that they are essential for people’s safety. I’m not sure if there is rules when to use a fixed price or a meter, but please please please note that you as drivers have some sort of responsibility especially on weekend night shifts, rather than trying to rip of tourists.

Was a bit of a panicking mother early hours this morning I do apologise to the man and lady that was working on control board i was a total wreck trying to get my son home from Brighton bk to Medway. This company was brilliant so understanding anyway to cut along story short they were there in seconds picking my son up and getting him home safe so I'd like to say a big Thank you to all involved you must of thought I was a fruitloop ,I highly recommend city cabs and I give them 5 star rating

Not normally one to write a review but they were really bad. We called to book a taxi to take us to the station in Brighton, which would take a max 20 minutes even with heavy traffic. I called and booked for 7:50pm collection and they said that a car would be with us for as close to that time as possible, which was fine as long as a car was booked and on its way. Great, we should make our train no problem... Called at 8pm to ask where the taxi was and if they were on their way and they said that no driver had picked up the job and that it was still in the system but one would be with us as soon as possible, which isn't really that useful when you're booking a car for a train journey. This was a bit of a shock to say the least. Even if a car was nearby or completing another job it would have been fine, but the fact that one hadn't been assigned meant that we couldn't risk just waiting and missing our train. We immediately cancelled and tried to rush to the station by bus, then ran all the way up the hill with lots of bags to the station however we missed our train, doors closing as we went through the barriers. Very dramatic and also expensive for new train tickets. They didn't call to let us know there would be a delay, they didn't let us know that a driver hadn't picked up the job, they didn't apologise on the phone and they didn't let us know up-front that this is how their system operates. Basically, even if you book a time, that doesn't actually confirm that a driver has been sent to you. We all understand that traffic happens and people are a few minutes late but to let people think that a driver is on their way when they aren't is really terrible. We should have been at the station with lots of time to spare and we made sure to call well in advance as know that late notice can be problematic for taxi companies. We don't like using UBER but when the alternative is this then it's not exactly a surprise that people are turning away from traditional car companies. Eh, rant over.

Booked a cab to go train station, so clearly to catch a train. Called hour an a half before to book it, was told all fine, but it didnt show up. Called again and was told 'they are still looking for a cab to collect us, and will be another 15mins'. Recommend NOT using their service. Not the first time this happened with them either.

My daughter got stuck in Brighton over the Pride weekend and had to get a cab home to Eastbourne because this country is pathetic when it comes to weekend transport, especially when there's an event on! Spoke to a really lovely lady on the phone who made sure that a cab was sent to my daughter A.S.A.P. £60 later my daughter has learnt her lesson.. To plan her weekends more wisely! I'd love to give 5 stars and I would have if it wasn't for the cab driver who tried to charge my daughter £83 when I was quoted £55! There's always one greedy **** ruining it for everyone else!

I said I want to book it in advance because I am on my way and want to make sure I will find a taxi when it is raining outside but no luck. They probably do not like short distance journeys! Avoid...

The car was new and clean, and arrived more or less on time. However the driver was incredibly aggressive and rude when I asked him to take a quick detour. I had to do last minute storage and I tried to be as quick as possible. And he said "I better not miss my next client because of you." I have never ever had a cab driver speak to me like that, I wasn't deliberately going out of my way to delay him. He then had a personality transplant and became chatty and friendly afterwards. I think they ought to screen their drivers.

Terrible service and extremely poor organisation. My Taxi was sent to the wrong address. Unknowing I was left waiting outside for over half an hour until I chased them and they notified me of their error- I was then told they didn’t have any other cabs to send so after arranging an alternative Taxi service one of their drivers arrived very confused- out of politeness I then explained to there driver the situation and had to apologise to him for the misunderstanding.

Just waited 40 minutes for a taxi that I was told would be 10 minutes. When I called to find out where it had got to, the operator said they were having a busy period, would have been nice for them to mention this on booking or at least give me a call after 20 minutes

Appalling. Pre ordered a taxi from Brighton Station. Arrived at the station, walked all the way round to the back car park. No taxi. Called office to be told "sorry we don't have any taxis available". When I asked why they didn't call me out of courtesy to tell me this, I was told "well we could have done but the phones have been busy". Ha what laughable customer service.

I had booked a taxi to collect us from the crematorium to take us to the train station in Brighton. City Cars told us if the traffic was bad they would come 5 minutes early. The taxi didn't arrive when ordered. Having called and been told the car was 3 minutes away, it still didn't arrive. I called a second time and was told they would divert another car, we were eventually collected 15 minutes late. Terrible service, would never use agin. Look out Brighton when Uber comes!

Over 45 minutes late and never came - called up and said they cancelled it because the driver couldn't find me (standing out like a sore thumb with bags from a festival at a petrol station). Didn't bother to call me and no other car was offered

Absolutely appalling. Booked a taxi for 7:10 am and it arrived over twenty minutes late. When I called beforehand to confirm the booking they assured me it would arrive on time. Do not use this company if you've got a train to catch!

Booked a car in the morning for much later that day. Called 5 minutes before it was due to check it was on it's way. Car wellover 10 minutes late-ended up missing my train, cancelling the car and getting the bus. No apologies or anything from the company, terrible experience. Will not use again.
