Mr White was absolutely fantastic with my nervous rescue dog. He explained everything that he was going to do, he answered all my questions and put my mind at rest. After her operation, he rang me as promised and talked me through the healing process and what to expect. She is now fully recovered and leading the pain free life that she deserves to. The receptionist and nurse that I spoke to were really helpful and friendly. Thank you all so much. I'm 100% happy with the service and advice I received.

My cat got hit by a car. I took her to My local vets but needed to take her here for special care. When we arrived my local vets had already sent xrays across and didn't wait to long before we saw the vet. He was a lovely man who explained to us everything that was going to happen. After the operation, we saw the same vet who talked us through what he did. He did a fantastic job. Our cat is on the road to recovery. The reception ladies spoke to us kindly as I was very upset. All in all a nice place. Very clean

Kimberly and the team have been amazing. We had been referred to Dovecote as our dog Lottie was having issue but we couldn’t get to the bottom of, on having an MRI we had the heartbreaking news that it was a tumour in her spine and they would not be able to operate. The after service has been amazing, when we have needed urgent advice they have been there for us whether that be 8pm or 8am. Thank you so much for all you have done for us.

£2800 . To be told they cant find anything wrong with your dog .Would NOT recommend this place to anyone ,£343.... for a 5 minute consultation aswell. Just have a read of that bill . Absolutely disgusted.......For the love of dogs ..... And been made to wait for half an hour ,First and LAST impression 0 out of 10 .

I have nothing but praise for Dovecote Veterinary Hospital. We were referred to them so our young puppy could be examined by the neurologist for a suspected brain malformation. Sadly she had to be euthanised a few days later. The reception staff and the neurologist (Thomas) treated us with the utmost care and compassion at all stages, whether on the phone, in person or by email. Thank you to all at Dovecote for making an awful time more bearable for us, we would highly recommend the practice to anyone.

They made an appointment for our girl at very, very short notice. It took us 2hrs to get there and 4 hour wait for the worse news ever. That said everyone was brilliant. Caring, compassionate. It iscostly but you have a beloved pet who needs help urgently, cost isnt the priority. Thank you.

Only 2 visits so far but the staff have been great over the phone and in person. They felt genuine and caring which is most important when I'm taking my poorly old dog in for care.
They also dealt with my pet insurance claim promptly on both occasions.
Definitely recommend them.

The best vet practice in the wider area. Has convenient links to Beeston and Ilkeston for out of hours service. Always someone available to help with your pet. Paula and team really care about your pet throughout their development stages. Strange times right now not being able to go into treatment rooms but vets happy to speak to you face to face, with a competent reception team arranging medication, so you dont run out of flea treatments etc.

Have been going here with my fogs for 37 years & have always been very happy with the care my animals have received. They are reputed to be on the expensive side I believe, but my dogs come first & it is convenient from where I live.

Can't say enough good about this place. Our dachshund pup broke her leg and we got referred here. Bruce did an amazing job, performing a tricky op to pin our little ones leg and another flawless op to remove the pins a few weeks later. She's now making a full recovery and has no complications. Everyone here was friendly, understanding and most of all very very good at what they do. If you get referred here just know you're pet is in the best hands.

I've been taking my pets to Dovecote Veterinary Hospital for many years and have always received great service. The staff and vets are friendly and helpful and, with it being a hospital, you know you'll get the best knowledge, advice and experienced vets, as well as quick diagnoses. The facilities are good, clean and tidy, and there's adequate free parking.

Our 2 year dog, who was full of life and energy before coming to the hospital, died after 4 weeks of a “treatment” prescribed by the neurological department. They follow formal schemes without thinking or knowing that individual characteristics of each dog might be not compatible with their prescription. A computer would do a better job. There is also essentially no timely, regular monitoring from them of how the “treatment” goes. They are not interested to learn from the case when a “treatment” ended up in death. Further, they don’t care if a dog is showing strong signs of separation anxiety and cries for a long time. Apparently, they view it as normal, according to their internal rules, just to ignore a distressed dog. I strongly recommend not to use them (they do not deserve even one star) or at least seek an alternative opinion before following their advices.

I am struggling to put into words how I feel tonight.
Last night following our cats accident you agreed to accept her as a patient. You kept her overnight, this morning you agreed to treat her and even charged tonights nursing etc to my credit card. Then out of the blue you insisted that she was referred by another practice, when you knew that no other practice had seen her.
I still cannot understand why after accepting her and charging me you could only see her if she was referred. It was explained that if I collected her, drove her to another practice and they referred her you would agree to see her.
We were then forced to collect our cat who was both in distress and pain and drive for 40min in peak traffic to be operated on by another vet.
I was obviously mistaken when I thought that vets were compassionate people.
I only gave a one star rating because Google will not allow a zero.
