I needed to get my daughters German Shepard Luca into see a specialist for a skin problem. The place I had been taking him couldn’t see him for almost 3 weeks. Animal Hospital was great, they would of taken him the same day I called but it was late afternoon so I got him in first thing next morning. All the staff was very pleasant with good humor to keep ya smiling. They treated him and now Luca is much more comfortable and at peace with himself which makes me very happy. If you love your pet, you will love them.

Dr. Gill and his staff are very friendly and professional. I've been taking my dog to American Animal Hospital for the past 14 years, and he has received exceptional care in their hands. Dr. Gill takes the time to explain my dog's test results and diagnosis and provide informed care advice. Dr. Gill and the staff are very compassionate and caring. I highly recommend this clinic.

I took my little 13 year old dog, Lily, with a skin infection here for treatment. Received prompt and thorough care. Very reasonably priced too. Kind vet and assistants!
AND! They didn't try to guilt sell me into a bunch of extra stuff.

I drive 30 minutes to get to father and son Drs. Gil. They are truly superior in the care they provide. I am always able to get an appointment in a timely manner with the front desk who are all helpful and kind. I also appreciate that I am able to call with basic questions without booking an exam and they are a one stop shop with every vaccine my dog needs and the ability to perform surgery. Their plans of care are reasonable and thorough but not excessive. I always leave feeling well taken care of! Highly recommend.

In my search for a Yoranian puppy I came across a young woman that had acquired a 9 week old female from a breeder in Texas, then decided she didn't want her. When I saw the puppy she was underweight and dehydrated. I was able to "rescue" her but within 24 hours she showed signs of decline. I called AAH and explained the situation, they did not hesitate to give me an appointment same day. The ridiculous Covid requirements meant I had to drop her off and wasn't allowed to see the Dr but they had the process down. They took all the info over the phone, I dropped the puppy off with one of the delightful office staff and waited.
30 minutes later I got a call from the Dr who gave me a very complete report of his exam along with instructions and even some food samples.
Turns out she was OK and just needed to recover from the neglect she had experienced. 24 hours later, she's active and eating like a horse (albeit a very tiny one).
I'm a long time customer and thankfully have had healthy pets that had long lives so I've not needed a vet very often but after hearing all the horror stories from friends and coworker about their veterinary experiences - thought I'd let people know about a really good one.
Oh ya, the cost was very appropriate - didn't mind paying the bill at all.

I am so picky when it comes to who takes care of my fur baby, Diesel, and this place deserves ALL the stars!! They are all so kind, knowledgeable, and thorough! Dawn has our heart- so professional and sweet. I always feel peace leaving Diesel with her, because he gets so excited!!

best of times. Always calm in crises. His son Dr Paul is following in his fathers footstep. Anthony always calms my dachshund and he stops barking. The rest of the staff also very good and caring. They really love animals!

Extremely happy with the care received at AAH. Have been going there for over 6 years. Recently had a rat bite on my cat, over the weekend; bite area swolen/bulging. AAH took me right away on Mon. morn. It later dawned on me how they have always seemed to be able to see Pumpkin "right away" when there is an emergency. As always, the VET explained details of his treatment, sent me home with meds and directions. The follow up visit the next week was quick but with good news, as the wound was healing as desired. More good news was that they didn't even charge me for this follow-up.

The staff here is always very friendly & professional. The Vet, the techs, the staff at reception area. It’s also very clean! My furbaby passed in May during Covid ????. And although I was not allowed inside, they accommodated me in bringing him out for me to say my final good bye ????. They were very professional & comforting during a hard time for me. Such a kind and detail oriented staff. They answered all my questions and did not push any extra meds, procedures or advice. I am so impressed with this veterinarian and his team. I will always bring my fur babies here.
This is the first time we have used prescription strength flea drops and it is a night and day difference. I can’t believe I waited this long. We are looking to our reminder call in a few months for the next treatment. No more forgetting to apply!
For one of our kitties we needed an emergency visit and they were able to get us in quickly. Thank you!!!

It was difficult decision to take my 16 yr old cat to a new Vet especially since I wouldn't be allowed in with her to meet them due to the Pandemic. They were referred to me by my son, so I went for it. I was able to get her in right away and they were great over the phone listening to my concerns. They were able to do all the necessary testing and the Dr called me with the results and his recommendations as to medications and diet changes, he spent quite of bit time on the phone with me each time. They are a very caring Vet office and I couldn't be happier. My old girl is feeling much better.

Both my baby yorkies are in good hands with Dr. Gil. The staff are friendly and you can tell they really care about your fur babies. Doing whatever they can to get a dollar more out of you strait rip off no compassion for the pets what so ever they are all about how much money they can burn u for how many unneeded procedures they can convince u to do that cost twice as much here as they do at er for pets ...emergency room for pets on. Carmel mountain rd is the way to go on the spot any time of day and they work with u on the costs dont waste your time going to americN animak hospital. This place is a strait rip off...

My sick cat needed to be seen this day, not 3 days later. This facility was able to get her in. Very caring & helpful staff. Labs were done, she got med for an infection & turned out she is diabetic so we will have to address this next. She is feeling so much better already because the infection was taken care of. I have been going to this vet for 4 years or more and have always been very satisfied with Dr Gil and the staff. I don't know where else I would ever go. I love the way Dr Gil cares for the animals and shows so much compassion. It's not easy finding that. I was not very fortunate with the vet I went to before meeting Dr Gil and had lost a few pets. I would truly recommend this place.

I was visiting San Diego with my lady and dog, for the weekend and had plans to go to the Zoo. Of course I could not bring my dog to the zoo so I brought her to a daycare, only to find out that a couple of her shots had expired and I couldn't take her to daycare without them being updated, which they said I could get done that day and then come back. We looked up and contacted 3 or 4 vet places to see their availability and all of them couldn't see her until much later in the day. We decided to go to breakfast first, and while we were pulling in, I saw American Animal Hospital across the parking lot. They didn't show up on the original list, so we called, and Deena (or Dina?) answered and she was so accommodating, she said they could take her in and administer the shots within an hour! Not only that, but their prices were very modest as well. Being a first-time dog owner, I was very nervous and had a ton of questions and concerns, and Dina and the staff were so pleasant with me and took the time to make sure my questions were answered and I was 100% good to go. The doctor that administered the shots has been a vet for over 30 years, and Dina still stayed with me to field my further questions on what to expect going forward.
I was able to take my dog to daycare afterwards and then enjoy the zoo with my lady. My dog didn't have any side effects except maybe runny poop the day after but that's it.
I highly recommend this place. The staff, prices, and the staff again make this place 5 stars for me. Thank you!

Great Animal Hospital! It's very easy to make an appointment, either on the phone or through their website. They respond quickly and call you with a reminder a day or two prior to your appointment. The staff at American Animal Hospital are friendly and welcoming. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes after arriving for my appointment. Dr. Gill is not only a skilled veterinarian but he is very patient as he listens to your concerns about your pet. You may feel that you are asking a stupid question, but you'll never feel that Dr. Gill is judging you at all. I trust Dr. Gill's expertise wholeheartedly. Taking our pets to the vet is emotional for both us and our pets, so working with an empathetic staff is very comforting.
Another factor is the cost of pet healthcare. Veterinarian medicine has become very expensive over the years, but the prices at American Animal Hospital are very reasonable. I highly recommend AAH for anyone looking for a wonderful veterinarian.

We weren't a current patient but our family was relieved to have the office take us in so quickly. This has been a recurring problem for our dog but Dr. Gill gave us a diagnosis. He took the time to go over the x-rays and explained in a way that was easily understood. We left with a game plan and medication to get our girl feeling better. The staff was great and doctor was very attentive! I called three times the day of the surgery to check on our sweet golden retriever and they were so sweet to me each time! They had the lowest prices (we literally called everywhere) and they checked on her after she was spayed and had her front dew claws removed! The doctor even offered to check on her another time after that if we were worried about her for free but they did such a great job we didn't have to go back! There are mostly women working there so when we picked up Ellie her bandages on her front paws matched her harness :] They were very upfront with pricing and let us know everything in detail that we were charged for. She got an antibiotics shot, a cone of shame, pain medicine, and a detail care plan for a very affordable price! We recommended these guys to all of our pet loving friends! Thank you for taking such great care of our golden retriever...she's fully healed and her normal self without those pesky dew claws! We appreciate your care and attention to detail and amazing bed side manner to our dog and to us :]
