A truly magical place which hides lots of wonders. A unique, hidden spot within the heart of Chesham, with amazing food/drinks and special, welcoming, warm atmosphere. The caretaker and all the staff are very nice, friendly and open people. Definitely a very rare place, which i greatly recommend!

Quirky and at times a little tiny but not cramped. It is an old house converted into a pub after all. Richard, the proprietor, comes across as a laid back character, a nod to the 60's hippy-like culture aplenty about him and the property. This is all about live music with a distinctly personal touch. Attendance upstairs is reasonably guarded. Richard clearly wants it to be a memorable experience for all, not one tainted by the rude and rowdy. He vets all who wish entry upstairs for the ultimate personal experience. I can't find the words to describe the deeply immersive experience, at least not any commensurate with the actual night's sensual awakening. The meal deal buys you entrance upstairs, the mains are generally vegetarian in nature and are acceptable. But, this isn't about the food. The desserts, however, are pretty incredible! The live music experience is broadcast, via live feed, downstairs to those less fortunates unable to secure seating up above. An incredible, immersive, personal experience. VERY highly recommended ????

Quaint little place in its own little niche. I think they have done really well making it comfortable and welcoming. The colours and decor, along with the homely feel make for the beginnings of a lovely evening. The food is also pretty good, even given that it feels like going round your mates house and getting fed. I went with a large group and they catered very well. When there's entertainment in one room, you can see it from the other room via camera and mounted TV screen - nice touch. Only dropped a star because it's hard to park nearby, and could have a wider menu. That said, they'd be hard pressed to manage with a broad range I think.

Absolutely brilliant place to have breakfast, a coffee, lunch or watch live music. This cafe has a really nice atmosphere and the standard of coffee and milkshakes is excellent. I've met some brilliant new artists at the gigs here and would thoroughly recommend the drawing room to both residents of the local area and tourists alike.

The 2nd worst * meal ever. Yesterday. visited couple months ago. "Vine leaves" - my mistake if I was expecting something with a bit of chlorophyll but this soggy embryonic mess looked like they hadn't seen the light of day for 100 years. "Fish and chips" may be the idea of a joke in line with the old (sic) - age love-in atmosphere but I lost my sense of humor when we got coldish , damp and simultaneously burnt-on -the-edges sweet potatoes along with some sort of over- pickled sardine. Like being slapped in the face with a wet oily fish. Sorry I didn't get the name of the (Turkish?) dish but anyway imagine that someone has boiled up some potatoes put them in the fridge overnight , sliced them a bit and thrown over some sort of mint sauce - looking garnish and mixed them up a bit. In fairness Ive been a couple of times before and its been OK. I was most impressed then when the very congenial owner (he was not on site yesterday by the way) - being run off his feet - remembered our extensive order in his head. I was less impressed when he returned about 1/2 hr later and asked what it was. I put this down to my maybe missing the point of this quaint quirky quasi-Nepalese hideaway that time forgot - he did and and I certainly will in the future. At least it was only 18 quid. Why didn't I complain at the time? - I just wanted out O-U-T . BTW: The gigantic hot pot of tea was excellent. * My first worst meal ever was a bowl of caked purple Brazilian beans.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon after reading good reviews but unfortunately had a very poor experience. We went inside but just found a small room with nowhere to sit, several staff passed us but ignored us standing around looking confused. We went and sat outside and were ignored for over 10 minutes. When someone eventually spoke to us, our greeting was “are you ready to order?”. Despite it being just after 12pm on a Saturday afternoon they found they had already run out of jacket potatoes after we ordered. The food that we did order took nearly 30 minutes. We were never given a chance to ask for any sauces, drinks, desserts or anything else as the staff ran off after putting down the plates and never checked back once.

An oasis in a town that is otherwise bereft of much charm. Relaxing, inviting interior with great food and beverages and a resident cat that adds to the homely atmosphere. A lovely courtyard area outside with blankets provided. Well worth going out of your way to visit.

Great place to sit outside. Young waiters are pretty but clueless. I'm sure they'd be fine if they were properly trained.

What an amazing place. Really friendly staff who were very welcoming and couldn't have done more to give us an amazing evening. The tapas was very tasty and I will definitely be back when I'm next in the area.

Most of the seating is outside with just two tables inside. the food is good, but is very much "light lunch". when the weather is good service is slow as the staff have too much to do.
