Had found some less favourable reviews of Spice Mountain online but I decided to give them a try. Their online store was easy to use and had a vast selection of ingredients that I could not find elsewhere. Delivery was pretty quick and the products are really fantastic, very impressed with what I ordered, seems like good quality and I'm looking forward to trying them out in my cooking. All in all very impressed and will definitely use again.

Find all the traditional and exotic herbs and spices to feed your culinary fantasies right inside borough market. Saffron at nice prices! Spicy and smokey chili. Spices for cooking and baking. Easy to carry sachets or bottles. Priced reasonably.

I recently placed a mail order. They had everything I needed and it arrived the next day very well packaged. I had a couple of questions and their comms were excellent. I will definitely be using Spice Mountain in the future and I can’t recommend them highly enough

Lots of great spices. However, shop attendant was extremely rude. He also overcharged me. He did the math in his head... I asked him why he doesn’t use a calculator and he replied “you can do it yourself if you don’t believe me”. Super awkward and uncomfortable. I got home later and realised he charged me about £10 more than he should’ve. Worst part was that I asked him if all the spices were vegetarian. He rolled his eyes and replied “of course all spices are vegetarian”. Well, I shouldn’t have trusted him. Upon returning home I realised one of the spices had shrimp powder. Liar or negligent, who knows? So rude.

The shop is definitely cool, the variety is impressive. The quality is so so and the prices are gouging, a bit disappointing tbh.

Worst retailer ever. Refused to refund when they order did not arrive. It is not their problem that I spent £40 and they can't even bother get a tracking number. If you are not delivering right better not post international!!!! Worst worst service ever. Would not recommend at all.

I love spice mountain, and as a local to the area, I regularly buy my herbs and spices from there. However, I do feel I have to comment on the lack of service. In the last 6 weeks I've been three times, yet am always left feeling underserved. Previously I asked to learn more about the Middle Eastern spices, as they had interestingly named mixtures beyond Ras El Hanout etc. The lady said, "well, they're pretty similar", and turned the jar upside down to read out what was listed. I know.. I was trying to learn more about how you could apply the spices, and whether they had any experience or particular dishes in which they recommend them, but no luck. I was told to google it. Then today I requested a simple favour, given that my entire spice cupboard is made up of their pots, if the herbs I was going to buy could be in the little plastic pots (for some reason their green herbs are in glass jars - beautiful but unfortunately difficult for me to stack with what I've got). The guy reluctantly dug up one lone pot out the back of the store cupboard (I was hoping to buy three), so I settled for picking up just oregano (in addition to 9 other pots and vanilla). When checking out, apparently I was charged for the full spice (the empty pot was labelled and as such he charged the full pot), and then when realising, deducted it, but said "it's ok if I charge you 50p for the pot right? that's fair?". I was stunned. I'm so happy to help a local business of course, but this just seemed bizarre. I might as well have bought another spice and transferred the content. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say, mumbled yes, and left. I don't know why every time I'm visiting, spending £20 each time, the staff make me feel like I'm being inconvenient. The spices are wonderful but time and again the staff and service is disappointing. I was hoping to avoid going back to supermarkets for spices, but at this stage I will be looking for another speciality shop.

Ordered some lovely Australian spices and despite a payment gliche they went above and beyond to ensure I received the products before our Supper Club event. Spices are so fresh and vibrant in colour and taste. Definitely will ONLY buy from Spice Mountain from now on.

Do you like herbs & spices? No wait, do you LOVE herbs & spices? If there a shop that just had the most amazingly broad and diverse selection of herbs, spices, salts, peppers & powders, would it be like a candy shop for you? Then visit this place. 25 different types of salt? Yes 50 or so different curry blends? Probably Help to find the thing you want but do not know how to name? Sure! But please do not take the last bag of Mediterranean Bruschetta Mix. I need this! :-)

The variety and range of spices available here is astonishing. The advice and service are both excellent. We come here about four or five times a year and then shop at the other stalls across Borough Market. The whole trip is just a great experience.

***Note that at time of writing, the Google maps location is wrong. The shop is located within Borough Market. The not-open-to-public warehouse is on Spa Road. £2 30 for 40g of Sri Lankan powder is very good value. Will definitely be returning to this place to stock up on all things spice!

An amazing selection of spices from all over the world with very reasonable pricing. They have items that you can't find at many other places, including gourmet shops in the US that I frequent. I'm especially impressed with the different varieties of hot peppers (including Naga and Carolina Reaper).

Best spice shop in London, massive selection carefully selected from around the world. My go to place everytime I'm in the city, reasonable prices too. They also do gift boxes too full of curry spices or dried chillis perfect to ask for as a gift ????. Staff are also really friendly and engaging.

A great place for a range of herbs and spices, from the everyday to unusual rarities. Despite it's tiny size, the stall packs in a fantastic range including curry ingredients, chillies and an impressive selection of salts and peppercorns from around the world. They also stock spice accessories and will put together gift sets from your selection. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and happy to give advice on using anything in their range.

A shop that is extremely busy should not be skimping on accepting card payments? £10 minimum to pay with card at Borough market!? That’s a joke.

Since we were visiting from India we just HAD to have a look at this lovely stall selling exotic spices and masalas. A great selection, everything you would expect to find in a local market in Bombay....except the price of course!

Visited the Westfield Stratford outlet which is quite small. Nice little shop. Not a wide range of spice and herbs but stock standard and basic Masala mix you can get in any Asian grocery. Would have liked to see some more hard to find herbs and spices which I normally have to get online . Though the chili range was better than I've seen in a while though a bit pricier than my normal online shop. I should have bought a box to compare quality. The quality of packaging was very good and the ambience of outlet was really good. I'd visit the main shop if I'm down there.
