Really nice bakery and the staff were very polite and helpful. It’s easy to see why there was a long cue out the shop to get in. There’s a mix of both sweet and savoury treats to eat, plus all items are reasonably priced. Would definitely go again the next time I’m in Brighton.

It’s a fairly big place offering a wide range of products from hot meals, celebratory cakes, chocolates, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks... Their wrapped chocolates (photo attached) are really addictive and some tasted much better than nutella. There is at times a long queue outside but I would say it is well worth the wait. You just need to find a place to eat it all outside as the benches in front of the shop are always taken by some local people.

This is an awesome place. I've visited almost every day on my cycling loop. The coffee is the best in town by a mile, and the service from everyone incredible. Thank you all for doing such a great job! Loving the Almond Leafs!

Very good selection of fresh hot savoury pasties, cakes and other sweets delights. Also there is a selection of other non perishable Greek goods for sale. The coffee served was also fairly good.

Oh dear! Not very good produce in my opinion. The sandwiches' look fresh but the rest looks like very cheap ingredients.
The seating outside is crammed and cramped. Can it be something else please....?

I love the cakes here. It’s not really the kind of place to sit and have coffee as there are only a few seats outside and the same few locals occupy them all the time. The service here is *appalling* - I’ve always assumed you have to be related to the staff to get service, and you won’t get served at all if you don’t push in or assert yourself - BUT... the cakes are kind of worth it. They look beautiful and taste almost as good too.

Authentic Greek bakery food. The pizza boat(penerli) needs improving and needs to be more fluffy and not crispy and dry, but that's it ???????? staff are friendly. We had baklava and cheese pies / tyropita and some other bits and they were delicious ???? recommended

Im sorry to say but to me It looks better than it tastes.
I must say this place puzzles me, everything looks so amazing and beautiful, the reviews are great and I so want it to be my favourite place but yesterday was my third attempt on buying something from here and again, I was disappointed. The reasons vary but the first time I was buying bread that was labelled sourdough, that just didn’t taste or looked like sourdough and it was stale the next day. And yesterday I was sold one jam donut that turned out to be apple filled, and one chocolate one that was something I can’t even tell what, maybe you can help me (picture below) Mistake aside, they weren’t particularly nice anyway, I did throw them away at the end .. Maybe I’m just very unlucky with my choices but I gave it three goes, I must admit though, there won’t be a 4th..

Excellent! The staff were all very polite and helpful, there is a vast variety of products and it was all extremely tasty! Prices were very reasonable and the social distancing and hygiene rules were observed correctly. I'll be going again!

I am so disappointed as I had heard such good reports of this bakery. I purchased a rye bread with sunflower seeds but it was as hard as rocks and tasted awful. The loaf I get from Tesco put this to shame. I have had to throw it out after it costing me £3. 50

Great place for some authentic Greek pastries and to get a frappe fix. The staff are really nice and the presentation of all the food is great.
I got a "Koullouri" and a frappe and it really felt like I was back at a bakery in Cyprus.

Unlike others, I wasn't impressed.
I went in to get a cup of tea to sit outside for a bit. The cup was very small but the man who served it was looking very grumpy kind of flung the bag in and put not quite enough hot water in. Then when I asked about milk and sugar, without speaking he kind of flung his head up using it to point to the other side of the room. I didn't see what he was on about. There were no seats outside so I was sitting on a nearby public bench drinking a tiny cold cup of black unsweetened tea.
The outside of this place is crowded but messy looking and people seem huddled up against the building.
Since Covid, no one wears masks or observes social distancing. Generally speaking, walking past this joint should be avoided.
The food seems to consist mainly of different shaped versions of the same pastey looking pastries. All seemingly made with cheap looking white flour and various ways of using sugar. I personally like pastries with fresh ingredients like cream and fruit. Oh well...

This place was recommended to us by a friend who stumbled on it by chance... They have a lot of sweet things... Cookies, baclava, cake's... Everything for everyone... We tasted the baclava, some of the assortments are very good...but really sweet... We also tried there bread sticks... Loved the one with corn ????, sesame seeds and spinach... We recommend it for anyone with sweet tooth. We will go back for sure!

The pastry here is delicious and priced very affordably, not like other bakeries and cafe's in Brighton. I'm lucky that i live so close as i find myself going here almost daily. It's just a bonus that all the staff here are very friendly and helpful!

Lovely bakery. Always a nice experience going inside. The little biscuits they have are so good! The staff are friendly and happy, my child always leaves with a little something extra!
Also try the hotdog in wrapped in a bun, not sure what its called but its amazing!
I havent tried the coffee but the orange juice is perfect ????

Good selection of tasty cakes and bread, although some of the smaller cakes and biscuits seem to be a few days old at times and too dry.
It’s a busy, popular little bakery and a nice addition to the area. Because of this, I think they should consider better precautions due to COVID-19, such as staff wearing face masks.

I needed 5 small cardboard cake boxes to give out Christmas cake to our neighbours. Not their usual request but they took their opportunity to fleece and charged me 80p a box (these things cost about 10-15p). They’ve stayed open throughout all the lockdowns, they’ll be doing alright. Total lack of community spirit.

Delicious little cakes! I went in for takeaway as I wanted something sweet and was not dissappointed (I think I had a portokalopita) . Great flavour, good price and served with a smile by the staff. It was also really nice to taste something a little different - the whole shop was stuffed with classic Greek sweets which made a change from the usual English/American/French treats.

This is one of the best places I've ever been!!! Hellenic Bakeries combine the highest level of customer service with very friendly and kind people who will wish you good morning with a smile daily with no exceptions, to the very friendly prices and the incredible level of quality to their products.
Everything in there is fresh and tasty, very looked after to the highest level of hygiene and there's always a queue to get in, although they move very fast so you never wait more than 5 minutes to get in.
Their coffee as well is incredible, I recommend the very unique Freddo Cappuccino or the hot traditional greek coffee called "ellinikos" .
Lovely large pastries for any time of the day, made daily in front of you, birthday cakes in great prices and the taste!!!
This bakery is part of my daily routine anymore and there's 2 more around UK! 10000% recommend!
