Got a brilliant deal on a used Mesa amp, an extra 20% off. The guys at the Oxford store were more than happy to check a couple of things and got the amp out the next day. Superb service, faultless.

I've had a mixed experience both here at the new site and at the old set-up. The staff are friendly so that's something. They seem to be knowledgeable enough and helpful - when approached. The new store is very well put together and displays content professionally.
Unfortunately I have had a few negative experiences.
I bought a guitar, pedal and amp at the cost of £1k. A few years later they only had the amp on file as proof of purchase, which concerned me somewhat as to the state of their store records.
I took a guitar to have new tuners put in and the wrong holes were drilled initially leaving my headstock looking tatty. There was no real explanation or apology for the damage caused.
A few years later I took a guitar I was selling in to get cleaned up and have a restring. The strings went on ok, but the cleaning was woeful and sloppy, to the point where it looked worse than when I brought it in. It was then suggested I buy a microfibre cloth and do it myself - adding to the already high price of the clean and restring.
If you're looking for a quick look round and an easy purchase and go, then the store is adequate. My experiences have not been great, so I'd be hesitant about a return visit.

So impressed by PMT in Oxford. We visited this (very Covid secure) store today, for the first time to Click and Collect some monitors. Jonjo (apologies if the spelling is wrong!) gave us some excellent and expert advice, and his super helpful colleague Rob also assisted us subsequently. We can't wait to return and browse the store, once it has properly re-opened. This is without doubt our new go-to Music Tech shop.

Not only did PMT Oxford price match an online stores prices, they have been absolutely stellar in getting everything ordered and sorted out.
Absolutely outstanding customer service from the whole team too. Friendly, knowledgeable and not looking to pressure you into a purchase you may regret later. They'd rather you take your time to make the right choice - even if that choice is, "I'll think about it and come back another time".

Went in for advice on synthesisers for my son's Xmas present. Told them my budget. Was told it was "very generous" and, whilst there was kit in there to fit the budget, was advised not to. Great advice and demonstration. I could now go online and buy one but won't. You don't get personal demonstrations and such good unbiased and unconditional advice online. Great service deserves the trade. I'll be back to get the prezzie.

Great service and huge knowledge of all things musical. Some music shops can be intimidating and snobbish but these guys are patient and helpful whatever your level of experience. Yes it's easy to buy things from amazon etc but PMTs kind of expertise and advice is priceless and is what keeps the UK music scene running. Use it or lose it!

Can't thank the guys enough. Great team, even more so now they are having to deal with ramifications of covid. Fantastic, safe and careful shopping experience.
For those that could be concerned, let me put your mind at ease. The shop now has a well marked out and safe one way system throughout plus screens on the tills, social distancing measures in place with a hand sanitizer station at the door. (I work for the nhs and was happy and felt safe to be there)
On top, this is not just a sales based music shop. The team KNOW what they are talking about, you will be happy to talk to any one of them. I went in for some recording bits (mic and box....erm and guitar ????) it was shiny and red and i got distracted. Great price ranges from beginners level kit to the very high end equipment used by professional musis groups world wide.
You will be looked after and bathed in musical knowledge, i will definitely be returning again very soon ☺

Overall a very good experience. Have been meaning to make the trip for a while now, but it's a 40 minute walk for me so had been putting it off until today. Very accommodating staff who didn't mind that I wasn't buying, gave me ample time to play around with the new Ultra series, and made the effort of plugging me in to my amp of preference, even though it meant dragging it over.
Many stores (including branches of PMT) are irritated buy customers who come in just to noodle around, but not this one. Thanks very much Dan!

When a store has more employees on the shop floor than customers you would expect at least some acknowledgement that you were in the store. Fifteen minutes of hovering around an SG that I was 90% decided on buying and not even a "hello" or "are you looking for anything?". I guess chatting behind the counter trumps taking a £1500 sale.

Great for all musicians but specifically for drummers, guitarists and pianists. Great array of popular cymbals and drum shells. Huge collection of guitars and amps including testing sound proof labs for trialling your prospective equipment before purchase. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Quite pricey but worth it for the quality of product!

Used many music shops in the past (online and local stores). This one easily sits at the top of them all! The main difference that sets it apart is the customer service. I was served by a young gentleman called Rob, who went way and beyond every effort just to ensure I got the studio gear I was happy with. I will only be using PMT from now on, given how happy I am with my purchases and how seamless the whole transaction was from start to finish.
Credit to the Cowley store and specifically Rob.Service like this, I feel, shouldn't go unnoticed.
