My family was visiting London and then relatives in Ireland, but they said the best thing about being in London was the electricity of this world class venue. I would love to perform there, but probably have a better chance of being a Brad Pitt body double. London calling yeah.

The location of this well known London club is great. I really like how many events are rolled out at the Ministry of Sound (MoS), with discounted student prices especially at the beginning of term. The atmosphere, lightings and dance floor within is amazing. While the DJs/selection of music differs from time to time, they are generally not too bad, sufficient to get you high even on a Monday night.
The only issue, and what led to me rating this place with 2-stars, is the bouncers. Be it due to a method to limit people from entering, or potentially racial discrimination (I hope not), I am unsatisfied with some of the bouncers who behave harshly. Instead of politely dealing with the entrants, I have seen them shoving or wrestling people to the ground, barring them entry by accusing them for being drunk or rude (when often that isn't the case). I am not sure if that is a thing at MoS since I am not a frequent visitor, but my last visit was really unpleasant as I have seen many including myself being denied entry, had to stand in the cold for a pretty long while, and worst of all MoS had the audacity to refuse to refund, which is a really cheapskate thing to do. By the way, I have been to 10 other clubs around the U.K and nothing like this have ever happened (I barely even drank that night hello). Although I ended up being able to enter after a well toned, convincing chat with the head of the management team that I was not guilty of anything, I still felt that a lot could have been done to improve clubbers' experience and impression of MoS. Cheers, no hard feelings.

Bouncers have a disgusting attitude, willing to openly refuse entry to men and allow women in to suit their own agendas. Quoted me a "45 minute wait time" and let the girls straight in behind us with no question. Avoid this place at all costs. Security is a joke and will seek to actively ruin your night. Have filed a complaint with the police for assault also

Unlike the other reviews on here, the security were nice and made me feel safe.
£3 per item for the cloakroom was too much for me. The crowd is generic and touristy.
I love electronic music and culture, they are lacking that. They use their reputation to grab clubbers in. Spacious venue and convenient location. Unfortunately all about the label.
They need variety of DJ's as it's a dying culture.

The sound system in this club is insane, never have I heard anything so clear and loud! The atmosphere is something different, you get lost in the sound! Definitely a must visit club.

We went yesterday night and the club it's cool, but pricey. 7.50£ for a 0.33l beer it's too much guys. Anyway I enjoyed it. 4 different rooms with 4 djs.

Was there on Friday night. Really enjoyed it. Music was good in all the rooms. Danced in the Baby Box and the first DJ was brilliant, there was a great atmosphere and fab music. Danced in the Loft, the Gallery and the Box. Place was full of people having a good time.

Decent layout, and I love the fact that each of the four rooms have very different music playing. On the downside, the queue at the bar was 5 people deep at one point, and the volume in The Box was above "painful". If you go, make sure you take some good clubbing earplugs. Earlier in the night the volume was great, and if you're in the middle of The Box then the sound system is crisp, with fantastic fidelity. Later on the volume and Bass seemed to overtake any sense of subtlety, and just tried to pound your skill into submission.
We went on the J00F / Vini Vici night, which may have been a mistake. Incredibly overcrowded and for most of the night it was impossible to get into the main dancefloor (see photos) let alone actually dance. Luckily we did the VIP, and had access to a balcony that was busy but not totally rammed.
The bouncers were polite, but the search queue could be done a little better. Fabric really has this sorted out, so copy their "bowl" system and it would make life easier for everyone.
Good, but lower than I expected from such a household name such as MoS.

I found my love of House Music in this club & spent most weekends in here from early 92-96. Was always the place to be. The best DJ's from around the world, my faves, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Master P some amazing live PA's and the atmosphere was always electric. My Boyfriend worked on the door so we got to skip the massive queue's that used to snake round the side of the building and get in free. It didnt even have a drinks licence in those days but we didnt care, we just came to dance. Glad it's still going strong but i reckon our days were the best as the music was better :)

Staff here are amazing! My boyfriend lost his passport, without realising a month ago. The lost property team answered my emails straight away, and gave us all the info we needed to be able to collect it. Can't thank them enough!!

I honestly can't even put into words how amazing this club is.
I first went to see showtek 5 months ago and have never looked back.
I wasn't too into house music and I can literally walk into this club on my own and have an amazing night. Bouncers are safe and respectable, nice little food area court and smoking outside the rooms are insane!
My friends didn't really want to go, forced them there and we literally hit this place every weekend

I’m giving it no stars because I hate house music, and they happened to close all the to all the rooms to play house music. Literally such a waste of time, money and effort. At least open a room with good music. There are clubs you can go to for cheaper and better music. The one star goes to the sound system.

After reading the reviews I visited this club last Saturday. It was okay, I was expecting a bit more actually. I didn't like the music that was played, may be because I may not be in to that type of music. They just played the music which was like acoustic sound with no songs at all. But I really do liked the lighting and atmosphere.

First time at the club and found the bouncers outside to be intimidating and borderline passive-rude, the one with the kind of short straight line mohawk haircut if remember correctly. Plenty of other reviews mentioning the same problem too, the managers just do not care about the experience of their customers maybe. Expensive entry too for not so much a pleasant first impression however am giving 3 stars because the interior was alright and music was okay, lots of techno which some people might not be the biggest fan of however can query music genre online and before paying upon entry. Unfortunately might not be returning due to the entry not being pleasant. Lazy managers should take more responsibility for good customer experience especially when many reviews of a single particular problem and especially when charging so much

Good for mid week student nights but would avoid on a Saturday as it tends to be full of an older clientele who tend to be mainly leering men. But student nights are awesome and live music is brilliant. Drinks are expensive though at about £7 for a vodka mixer

What a night I had I heard that the Ministry of Sound is the top nightclub in the UK so I booked a ticket to the club in January and when I got there I was blown away with the music and the quality of the sound you can feel the beat and I love it and the Security Staff were really friendly and helpful I don't drink but I still loved the experience at the Ministry and would reccomend it to any huge MoS fans like me and I want to come for the club's 30th anniversary I LOVE YOU MINISTRY OF SOUND 1991-2021 the best 30 years of my life.

Denied entry just coz one of the bouncers had a mood.
Ministry of sound is no cheap venue, expected better service but couldn't even get in. Please screen people you are hiring. Received no response to any emails reporting my experience as well.

Great sound system. Security are hit and miss, some are great others down right rude. This should be addressed as can ruin an otherwise great night. Lighting is amazing, one of, if not, the best in London. I suppose it's council regulations rather than the club but I can't stand airport style security on entrance. Kills the vibe for me a bit. Crowd are mixed, full of rich tourist types who spend too much time in the mirror but you also get your local party heads which makes up for it.

‘RIP IT UP AND START AGAIN’
With a stinking cold I was in two minds, should I go or should I stay? Yes I adore DJ Harvey ‘yeah but no but’, then when Jarvis Cocker with Steve Mackey popped up, that was it even if I was a death’s door I was going!
I have loved Jarvis through the years seeing him in concert some years back in Hyde Park ( MIND BLOWING ) and never miss Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service on BBC Radio 6 Music – the BEST station on Mother Earth. A few years back Jarvis mentioned on the show that he had spun the decks for Duckie at the RVT, and I thought wow how cool.
So how could I miss this rare opportunity and I was not disappointed, the two hour set flew by in the blink of an eye, I loved his mc and sharing of chocolates and tangerines, with the lovely quirky lights so Jarvis spinning some vinyl, it was pure joy to experience Jarvis and Steve.
When Jarvis Cocker & Steve Mackey played Orange Juice - Rip it Up ( and start again ) I went CRAZY with joy, never in all my intense years of clubbing has a track been so apt so on point. Only the day previous has I decided to finally put the fiasco behind me – since December 15th 2016 I had often been at a very low ebb experiencing black despair it was eating away at me like a mental cancer. There is a legal case to answer but the chances of even recouping anything from the person that took advantage of me are remote.
‘RIP IT UP AND START AGAIN’ – made me cry with joy and just minutes ago I RIPPED UP all the papers and feel like a huge burden has been lifted.
The icing on the cake of yet ANOTHER fantabulous MOS experience was having some precious moments to have my photo taken with Jarvis and to share how much I respect this beautiful lovely gentle man.
Was fab that so many people remembered me from Love International in Croatia.
Over the years I have worn some quite ‘OUT’landish ‘OUT’fits however last night to be finally reduced to a pink open crotch body stocking with a tiny pink slip speaks VOLUMES about how comfortable the clubbers AND staff make me feel. Yet a very well known ‘gay’ venue ( not the RVT ) in SE London would have instructed me to ‘COVER UP.’ and has barred me at least three times.
Huge respect to this brilliant venue for never forgetting and to still celebrate Paradise Garage AND Larry Lavan which in part inspired the creation of this ‘SUPER’ Club.
Thank-you Ministry of Sound ( I have so fallen in ‘love’ with the venue! ) for inviting Jarvis who played the most perfect sound-track of my life, you gave me the AFFIRMATION that I have done the right thing ‘RIP IT UP AND START AGAIN.’

I wouldn’t recommend Ministry of Sound, steer well clear of this place. The security and door staff are very rude, they put a dampener on the night before it’s even begun! The whole point of going out is to have a good time, but this was far from the case here!! Note to General Manager, you need to review this!!!

Last night was an absolute shambles. firstly we’re told to get there for 10pm and then made to stand outside till 11:15 the drinks are way too expensive and there was only the main stage open so only had 1 choice of music to listen too. Not to mention the Dj yelling “who here is white” and everyone proceeds to boo us...

Literally the worst experience and service I’ve ever met. The security and staff were so rude and treated us like rubbish. They don’t even have the most basic respect! There was something wrong with the tickets I booked and they did nothing for us, we ended up spending £40 each just for the entry. The only reason we stayed and went in was only because our friends were already in there. I would never go again and would not recommend anyone to go

Amazing club with a good psytrance scene which is rare, I dont understand the complaints against the music it's very clear on what's playing and it's amazing, great djs. 4stars because one night I went I got choked by a bouncer for a wrong reason but he was very apologetic. The worst clubbing experience. I’ve read the comments here and decided to go.
Few words about this place:
1. 3 rooms with different music, 2 of which are too small. There wasnt any space to dance or even move. Feels like you re in metro at peak-hour.
2. Music is completely sh$t. If you come to club for DANCING forget about this place. I was very disappointed and left club too early.

Bouncers fail to have a shred of empathy and evidently take great joy in ruining people’s nights by refusing entry on matters that could be resolved more sensibly (some may say they are just protecting the club, others would say they have a serious power complex.) If you can get into the club it’s a great night out, (although drinks are seriously overpriced) would recommend electric brixton or the 02 academy brixton before visiting this establishment.

Its nice to be welcomed by friendly security! The drinks are a little pricey but to be expected with the events they host. Bar staff serve quickly. Nice venue you certainly feel safe here.
