Terrible service! Not sure what’s the use of this store. We went there to buy a kid’s bicycle. Some of the bikes were there in the display. We asked if my 6 years old can try the bike in the store before we buy. But we were told, we are not allowed to try the bike. You can just have a look. Then we choose one of the bikes to buy. When I asked the person in store to take the bike out, he said we are not selling the bikes. You can only book online and then collect from the store. So, I looked at the website but the bike we chose wasn’t there online. I then asked how I can buy this bike? then I was told if its not in the stock you can not buy it. I asked, when its going to be in the stock, they said they have NO IDEA when this is going to be in the stock. I asked them to sell me the one which is on the display, but they refused. So, you have the bike in display, which doesn’t have the stock and you have no idea when it’d be available? Why you guys have the bikes on display then if you are not selling them? Or you just display them to break kid’s heart? To send out the message that we have the bike, but you can’t buy it? Why you have this store at all if we still have to buy the bikes online? NEVER going to visit this store again!

The staff who was advising us on our bike choice was very helpful. The staff who was building our bike was not very careful. They damage our bike in the store and didn't admit their mistake. We were ready and excited with our kids to go and collect our dream bikes but there was a delay in my order and we wasn't informed about it earlier. About the damage first they said it wasn't done by them after checking video once I requested to see the video than he change the story that this video was in the other side of the bike. So overall experience wasn't that much good.

I received brilliant customer service and the guy was very helpful today upon my visit to the store. He helped me find the best windscreen wiper blade for my car and even offered to put them on as well. He has served me before and I am always impressed by his willingness to help. I have to take a star off, not because I queued for nearly an hour, but because they hardly had any bikes on display! I went to the store today because online they don't seem to have anything at the moment. I've been trying to get a particular bicycle for a friend - a birthday surprise if you like - but all Halfords seem to have at moment is the bell and the basket, and I know she won't believe me if I tell her the rest of the bike's on its way ... Actually, you can't even order in store at the moment, though the staff are helpful and do their best to answer all your questions. In general though, Halfords has been my go to store for bikes throughout the years, even though I haven't ridden one for quite a while, and as such I'd recommend them always - especially if getting your first bike - the price isn't bad, and they offer lots of after service too, at a cost, of course. And for those important bits 'n' pieces for your car - batteries, lights, windscreen wipers, etc. - they take care of all that too. All in all, gotta say that Halfords do a good job, and the Beckton store has plenty of parking.

Service is terrible, complete absence of staff on the shop floor to assist/advice. One exception who was helpful, but followed up our visit from outside after a think, with a phone call to confirm a purchase... only to have a call centre ìnbetween, that denied all, even stock or services available. Sale so close, but young child denied a bicycle due to a call centre. Will shop elsewhere now. Thanks for the reply. I was told by the call centre yesterday that I'd get a call back from the store. And the social media account also offered a call back from the store today, but I heard nothing.

Shocking customer service, I waited 3 weeks for repair slot, to be told at arrival that job needed would take too long and that I have made incorrect slot booking. When I challenged, I think, store manager, I’ve been given even better explanation. “They were too busy with too little staff “ to carry out my repairs and suggest I book with another Halfords. Beckton branch, stay away from!!

So pleased with my bike service today! and the gentleman managed to fix the issues on the spot. both punctures replaced, adjustment on the breaks, light fitting, water bottle rack fitting too lol. I can’t remember this gentleman name ( with dreadlocks) but many thanks for your top of the range service!

Do not take your bike here to be serviced unless it is worth less than £50 - there is a fair amount of incompetence and a basic lack of bicycle knowledge. I took my bike for a service and had a long chat with a technician and decided that just a brake service and wheel true would be carried out. He informed me that it may be done the same day, and if not, mid week. On Thursday I called, it wasn't done - they said it would be done Friday and someone would call me. On Friday, no-one had called so I called, it wasn't done. I then waited until Monday and called, it wasn't done. On Tuesday I called at 4 and was told it was being done and would be ready in half an hour and they would call me. At half 7 I hadn't been called so I called and was told it was done but instead of what I had asked, a silver service had been done, the chain replaced and a new front "shifter" (they meant derailleur) had been fitted. I explained that a new chain on and old cassette would slip. Anyway, the next morning I picked it up, paid and cycled into the car park. Click click went the bike as the new chain slipped on the old cassette. So I took it back in the shop and got the guy to put my old chain back on. Furthermore, on my commute that day I could hear the chain rubbing against the new derailleur which had been attached improperly. I tried to adjust it when I got home but to no avail and ended up taking it off with grease from my old chain all over the floor. It was an unnecessarily stressful experience. I would say that whenever I phoned and was in the shop, the staff were polite and trying to do their best. I'm just not sure their bike knowledge is quite up to scratch. Update- have also just had to readjust the back brakes as the “technician” had put the cable in so tight the pad was constantly pressed against the disc. I thought I was peddling too hard on my commutes. Yet more incompetence.

I purchased the inner tubes with the correct rim size but 2 with the wrong valve, went to return it the next day, there was a queue and the staff member remembered me and offered to exchange them whilst I was at the shelf to save me joining the queue, excellent customer service.

The cycle department manager and colleague both helped make the right purchase and also helped me price match my purchase. Took my bike in for a government voucher check and the service was great. The guy that checked my bike took the time to show me the accessories that I may need and to keep the bike in good condition and explained the pros and cons of each. Great, efficient, friendly service and I will definitely be using this branch again in the future.

If you want professional service and do not want your time wasted then avoid this store like the plague. They didn’t have a bike I wanted in store and assured me Romford branch had it in stock. Get to Romford and they don’t have it in stock so just wasted a hour of my time!!

Not to sure why there are so many negative reviews for this place....Been coming here for the last 5years and have been great service every time I come instore. My go to place for many many projects I have completed over the years. This place has been there for my Car projects, motorbike projects, Evan Quadbike projects...Always have what I need in stock and great affordable prices...What people should understand is that with this pandemic going on there will be queues, there will be reduced stock especially the bike department but don’t take it out on the staff because they are very friendly and helpful. They are human at the end of the day working hard while you miserable people are complaining about what to do today while on furlough. P.s toolbox red spray paint was out of stock because I buy tonnes of it ????

Looking for a bluetooth/dab/cd stereo. Was served by the excellent, super knowledgable, friendly and very professional Amjad! Highly recommend this store for your car related needs. Amjad was excellent at multi tasking taking all his colleagues questions, dealing with other customers who lacked basic manners with such professionalism someone should give this man a few extra days off as a bonus but frankly give him a pay rise, he was everything you want customer service to be! Whilst he did all that I never felt ignored or my questions an imposition and service was still swift. Perfect!

Terrible service. Bought a brand new Carerra Bike from this store. Arrived for collection and the bike wasn't even built. The guy built the bike in 20 min and didnt even give me the leaflet for checks. After only two weeks, my front wheel came off resulting in me breaking my wrist and requiring major surgery. Still paying off the bike as I purchased using Klarna. There are many other bike stores so I suggest you go there instead.

Brought my bike in for a Free Bike Health check, they estimated it would cost me £200 and I would have to wait 4 weeks before they can fix my bike. I am not happy with this service at all. Brought my bike to a local guy to fix my gear cable & brakes for £15! From now on I am not going to use Halfords bikes service anymore. Shame on you Halfords.
