Rented a student house with friends, my room wasn't finished when I first moved in with decorating stuff everywhere (no compensation received). When chasing deposit during COVID, I was overpaid and had to send the money back. My fellow tenants have had delay after delay in getting their deposits back, despite repeated phone calls from myself with assurances that the deposits had been sent back and would be with us shortly still no end. Strikes me as really unprofessional and in-efficient.
Based on my experience really wouldn't recommend.

awful awful experience - these guys have no compassion and tried to scam us out of more than half our deposit (Over £500!!)
when we complained they backed down with their tails in-between their legs and refunded most of the deposit fairly.
IF YOU RENT STUDENT PROPERTY FROM THESE GUYS TAKE BEFORE PHOTOS OF EVERY WALL WHEN YOU MOVE IN!!! THEY WILL TRY AND SCAM DEPOSIT MONEY !!

The worst ever experience from a student estate agent. DO NOT USE. The following reasons:
Tried to scam us out of our deposit - if you're a tough cookie you can bully them back to get some.
Viewing times are given as such - this afternoon 9-5. Not 24 hours before, not specific time.
Asked us to break lockdown which is illegal to return keys during covid era.
No flexibility on Covid.
Tried to charge extra rent when unable to return keys due to covid - absolute scum.

The worst estate agent, completely unprofessional and unresponsive, they come into the house completely unannounced without the legal 24 hour notice required. Never willing to help, never answer their emails or phones, never renting a house from Nicholas Humphreys again. Not to mention, they gave the house to us in a dirty state, with unsafe electrical equipment and broken cupboards.

We looked at a house with Nicholas Humphreys, we arranged a viewing and looked at the house last week.
Charlotte and the team were great and talked us through the process and explained things thoroughly which really put our minds at rest!
Really nice people and lovely new office.
would use these guys again.

Absolute terrible estate agents and houses. Tried ripping us off out of EXTRA rent money of £1309 which we didnt need to pay.
Broken washing machine, lights, broken shower tiles which are sharp
Would NOT RECOMMEND to any students thinking to rent a house out in DMU or Leicester area
Landlord is terrible as well

Dreadful year in my property and can't wait to move out! Problem after problem not being fixed; mould, damp, holes in roof, leaks, broken carpets/windows/lights, hygiene of the property is vile. Not happy at all! Not worth the rent!
Staff were helpful however nothing really ever got fixed, I'm a month away from moving out and still an A4 sheet full of problems

Worst experience, they were misleading, they kept changing the person who was in charge of the house I rented ad wen they changed that person the information about the house and payments would change as well. upon arriving at the house at the beginning the place wasn't cleaned, there was poor communication and even after proof of evidence of the way the house was when I met it, they still took my deposit. Due to the fact that it was a new person handing everything. The communication is only good when you ae viewing the places but once I signed the contract things went downhill.

Nicholas Humphreys have recently moved from Braunstongate and have relocated to Queens Road, which is a fantastic office with their sister company ‘Barkers’. I have just reserved my student house for next year, along with my mates.
We have received nothing less than great service from lovely people, who couldn’t do enough for us.

After dealing with them from July 2018 to June 2019, I have realised that they are the worst letting agency in Derby. They were supposed to send a reference to Leaders for my new place with my husband weeks ago, but unfortunately due to their lack of communication (if you do rent with them, you will 100% see what I mean, my friends who rent(ed) with them complain still about the lack of communication they receive) my new landlord could not receive a simple reference and I was forced to move back to Leicester, as Leaders tried for 3weeks. Helen and Darron need to be replaced ASAP, as they are not doing well for student and normal lettings. they are ignorant, rude and care more for money than actual customer service.
