Had a dry rot issue in the property and Garratt's came in and resolved everything. They assisted with queries on building insurance claims, dealing with the cause of the leak and quickly remedying the issue with a guarantee. Their price was fair (less than half of another, less reputable contractor) and the advice was professional.
In summary, they are a safe pair of hands - I would have no issues recommending their services in future.

Garratts did a great job and were really helpful and friendly. They provided a top class service and were very professional. Lee and Wayne in particular were very informative and ensured all of our questions were answered. I had to attend to a virtual funeral at the time of their works and they made sure all noise and works were stopped during that time. Lee in particular was very sensitive towards this and even sat outside whilst this took place for which I am grateful. Would def use them again.

This company is the absolute best. A leak from upstairs was causing a problem in our entryway. The Garratt's team quickly assessed the problem, came up with a sustainable solution, and fixed it all up. I think our Edwardian-era flat is now in the healthiest and best condition it has ever been in. They might not be the least expensive service but they did not oversell us. And they kept to their quoted price for replacing air bricks around our home, even though the job was tougher than initially anticipated. Thank you so much, Garratt's!

An exceptionally positive experience from start to finish! From the moment I made the call; the lady I spoke with was most helpful, friendly and efficient. I needed a damp survey done at the property I was purchasing so Garratt's arranged this directly with the estate agents, on my behalf. Ian carried out the survey and was also a pleasure to communicate with; he called me en route to the property and asked whether I had any specific things I'd like him to investigate and also assured me of the work he would carry out. The survey was completed on the Friday, and I received the report on the Monday morning which I was very impressed with.
All of this wonderful service was provided at zero cost to me, which I find absolutely remarkable! I highly recommend this company and most certainly will be using them again, without hesitation.

Very professional. They came (on time) to inspect a damping issue, and when they found out that the cause was condensation and isolation problems, they explained that the best course of action for us was simply to keep the room heated, or we could also do isolation works around our windows.
I'm happy they didn't try to push for expensive unnecessary work. They did all this for free and refused compensation for what was supposed to be a quote but ended up being a consultation.
I would thus highly recommend them.

Had a time slot between 1 and 4, it got to 4:15 I called them to find out if they were still coming or not. When they finally arrived at 4:35. Tried to drill a hole in my wall for the second time as this was there second visit because they failed to do the job a few days before hand because they didn’t have the right drill which is fine, we arranged another day. Still got absolutely no where.. it was getting to 7:30pm still no success, wall looks a mess still waiting for the job to be complete which I have no idea when this will be. No dust sheets were used during the process of the drilling because he said he didn’t have any.. my kitchen and all my belongings were covered in dust everywhere. Just a complete waste of time.

Great job guys. Super responsive and helpful with all of the process. Honest quote with some handy tips to help us preventing damp in the future. We had a small issue with the door upon completion but this was tidied up in their follow up phone call on the day and came around straight away to fix it. Left the house spotless. A leak next door caused damp in my wall. Jack showed up to inspect, and the report and quote came back that day.
Once I'd asked for the work to be carried out, they did everything they could to fit it in as early as possible. The guys showed up bang on time, really nice and professional, called to let me know when they were done etc.
Jack also sorted the plumber and joiner too, and was really helpful and attentive in following up afterwards.
Highly recommend.

Garratt’s damp proofed our basement with tanking and a membrane. They were a pleasure to work with and very professional. Even three years on they honoured our warranty and performed some minor touch up work that they believed was in the best interest of our flat. They did this promptly and with an eye for detail. I asked Garratt's to come out and look at damp patches that had appeared in my mothers downstairs toilet on an extension built in the 1970's. Ian arrived on time, was very thorough with his inspection of the damp and was able to rule out that the damp was not caused by rising damp and that the damp was being caused by leak caused by a plumbing issue and Ian advised that a plumber drain specialist was what I needed.

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of work conducted by Garratts and their management of the project throughout. The team acted professionally and their communication was fantastic, at all times I felt up-to-date on progression and if any challenges arose these were immediately shared. Special thanks needs to go to Matt for his exemplary workmanship and management of the whole project. I would not hesitate to instruct Garratts again for any damp related work. The team are an absolute pleasure to work with and my only regret is that I didn't use them earlier and saved myself the pain of working with Dampcure Woodcure.

I got such a fright when I saw our door was crumbling and I thought it was woodworm. I called Garratt's Damp & Timber, and they came within a few days, inspected the door and asked us not to worry. It was just some small insects that won't destroy our door. Unbelievably professional and hopefully all businesses are just like them.

Garratt's were recommended to me by a friend to do a damp survey report as I am selling my property and the buyer's surveyor requested one. Gill arrived early, was happy to wait for me to arrive and quickly told me that there was no work required as all of the readings were satisfactory.
The survey arrived a couple of hours later by email with no charge.

Garratt's damp proofed a major room for us very successfully a couple of years ago. Very quick and took great care to protect the rest of the property from mess and cleared up beautifully. Recently we called them out to quote of another piece of work. Instead of doing that, they recommended ways to remediate the problem that would not require work from them - commendable honesty in this day and age.

Excellent service from Garratt's Damp Proofing & Timber carried out in my London flat in February 2017. Had severe damp proof problems in my basement bedroom and bathroom, provided a very reasonable quote very quickly, with a date to do the work soon after. Workers were very neat and tidy whilst carrying out the work, also making an effort to lay down covers to protect the floors. Work was done to a high standard, also carrying out extra damp proofing works to other areas, all within the quote. Jack, Chrissy and Wayne were always on hand to provide helpful advice on further building works in my flat to ensure their guarantees and also to prevent damage to the tanking system. Highly recommend Garratt's Damp Proofing and Timber, and I can't thank them enough for the work they have done.

Having had some damp problems in one of our rooms one of Garratt's surveyors attended. She arrived on time and confirmed the dampness in the walls, however unlike other surveyors who attended, she suggested a simple solution of using a domestic humidifier for 3-4 weeks and then offered to come back and re-take measurements.
After 5 weeks of running the dehumidifier, and with significant water expelled, the surveyor returned. She confirmed that the dampness had substantially reduced to the point where any remedial work in her opinion would not be necessary.
The other 3 surveyors who attended all issued quotes for remedial work, ranging from £2000 up to £3500 + VAT, which would have been unnecessary.
Two visits and great advice, all of which was done at no cost. I can only commend such service.
