Went to Halfords Hemel Hempstead on a Sunday as both my headlights failed on a the journey home the previous evening. They did a bulb check & found both bulbs had blown. There was a short wait but the technician was courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. Given the choice of two brands, both at a Competitive price for the bulbs.

Absolutely useless. I purchased 4no bikes and accessories online including "experts" assembly service. After that I spoke to the customer service who confirmed that when we arrive to collect bikes everything will be ready and all accessories fitted. Got tracking and email confirmations that everything has arrived and ready to collect. When we went to the shop bikes were not ready, no accessories fitted and half of them not even delivered. It took "experts" an hour to adjust 4no seats and print out the paperwork. I went back in a week to collect remaining accessories but they said that accessories no longer available which turned out to be a lies because I went on their website later and purchased it with no problems. On the first ride one pedal came off and it turned out to be different from the original. Tyres deflated, other pedals and fittings loose, bell was broken, reflectors missing etc. Disappointing to say the least...

I know it's hard to get cycling stuff at the moment so the shopping experience is not great. I couldn't get the item I when I dropped in so had to order it click and collect and make another trip. Paying in advance then removed the opportunity for me to claim a discount I was entitled to (I'm pretty sure a large portion of customers will have a discount from their work or British cycling or from cycle to work scheme). The queue for the till on Saturday afternoon was 4 customers and no one around to help the cashier who looked embarrassed and stressed.

My grandson wanted a stunt scooter for his birthday. We had looked online but had no idea whether he needed a 58 or 72 cm handlebar? We went to try out the scooters in the local branch of Halfords to get some advice. My experience today has highlighted how much I have missed shopping with real sales assistants during the pandemic. Delighted to visit Halfords in Hemel Hempstead. Clean and socially distanced with plenty of hand gel to stop transmission when trying different models. Friendly, helpful and honest advice, as well as excellent service today in-store from Matthew. Thank you, delighted with my purchase.

My trip to Halfords to purchase some windscreen wipers was as usual a quick and pleasant experience. The staff were helpful, pleasant, knowledgeable and incredibly quick. I would recommend the Hemel Hempstead branch to anybody. My friend who also needed wipers went there a few days later and came back smiling, all done efficiently and quickly.

The bike team were so very helpful and friendly! Even though the workshop was fully booked, Luke was kind enough to repair my puncture on the spot. (My luck ran out that day, so this was music to my ears). He even took the time to educate me on the differences between tubeless and clinchers, pus how to spot the difference. He carefully inspected it all and checked to see if I was happy with the tyre pressure and tension on the quick release. He did this in (what felt like) less than 5 mins! What a great service and thank you Luke, you saved my day!

I placed an order for a dashcam to use over the bank holiday weekend. My local store is Watford, but I selected Hemel Hempstead store as it was showing up as ready to collect after 1 hour. After paying online, I received a call from the store saying the item was not in stock and they had placed an order for me from the warehouse. I was told the item would arrive in store on Tue the 1st of June. Now, the only reason I selected this store was so that I could get the item on the same day as I needed it for the weekend. If I could wait I would've ordered from my local store and waited a few days. I asked if they could have it delivered to the Watford store and they said I would have to cancel my order and place a new one with a different store. I can't do that as I paid partly via giftcard, and refund is not straightforward in this case. If they didn't have the item in stock they could have called me to let me know first before placing an order on my behalf. Now, after all this wait, I'll still have to go all the way to Hemel to collect it.

I had a booked service for my Boardman Road bike which had cost me £1000 seven months previously. I was having problems with the chain coming off repeatedly. 1. I had to wait a long time to be seen. 2. When they had assessed my bike I was told both the front and rear chainset needed replacing. Total cost of the service would be £286. I was horrified to think so much could be wrong after 7 months. I politely said this but was told a premium bike had expensive parts. My view is that if you pay that much for a bike it should last a lot longer. I’m hardly Laura Trott doing thousands of miles. I went for a second opinion elsewhere as I couldn’t afford that amount of money. my bike is now serviced and working fine with no new chainset needed actually. Cost £68. I feel completely ripped off by the experience and won’t be using Halfords again.

Our headlight bulb blew just as we were setting off. I Googled Halfords and found they were still open. I called and they told us to drop in. Within 15 minutes we were back on the road. Very efficient lad who dealt with us and the car in front of us in the queue very professionally. Just like an F1 Pitstop! 10/10 ????

Excellent service. A shame I didn't get the name of the young man that fixed my bulb. The shop was Covid secure. Arrows on the floor to direct people so as to minimise contact. I needed to change one of the front lights of my car, but I didn't know which one. I told the young man that I wasn't sure which of the front lights require changing. I was expecting him to roll his ???? and say "women" but he didn't. He promptly said no problem he will deal with this in a minute! True to his words he came out under 2 minds and fixed it. If there was any criticism I would say the guy that attended to me could put a bit of a smile ???? on his face.

Went in to get a headlight bulb change - service was excellent. The guy doing the change checked all the other bulbs and wipers, and even cleared some wet leaves out of the windshield guttering! Excellent.

i wouldnt go to halfords to buy anything, despite the fact that i got the message saying my order is ready to be picked up, it wasnt. i had to wait another 3 days, which it hasnt been a problem, but when i went back the second time, whoever was at the bicycle department, he canceled my order, so basically, not only i have drover 40 miles, but i have already paid for my order, and my order has been canceled "by mistake", so money taken and no bikes. .... definetely a no no for shopping.

My two experiences at Halfords recently with Aaran and Ollie were exceptional Aaran who helped me with my car before the mot was enthusiastic, helpful and committed to what he was doing, friendly and so easy to deal with. Ollie to went above and beyond when someone had hit my car he took pictures and was a witness to the incident. I can’t recommend Halfords enough. Thank you .
