Dilek Taptik School of Dance

My daughter has been learning ballet with Dilek since she was 4 years old. You will see from all the other rave reviews that Dilek runs a caring, passionate, enthusiastic and simply excellent school. Dilek and the team are able to deliver lessons that are enjoyable and fun while imparting aspects of the discipline of ballet which are so important and so rare to find in other areas of life and school. These skills are so useful and can help with things like organisation, presentation and physical posture that will help enrich the rest of one’s life. My daughter loves the whole team. She has successfully completed ballet exams under their guidance. Dilek is always careful to make sure the dancers are completely ready for the exam so they don’t feel anxious about performing in this situation. I feel lucky to have found such a good teacher and recommend the school to anyone looking to explore the world of ballet.

My daughter has been dancing with Dilek for nearly nine years and has three distinctions in her RAD exams. My daughter loves the shows that are put on every other year or so, with lovely costumes and a real theater. All the staff are really nice, and have been great through the lockdowns.

Both my girls have learnt ballet with Dilek and both have loved it. All the teachers are great and the ballet shows are amazing with the whole school taking part. Definitely recommend.

Dilek has taught my daughter since she was an enthusiastic/shy three year old, and me since I was an awkward/keen 47 year old with zero dance experience. We both get a great deal from her and her teachers, who show boundless patience, professionalism and give focused tuition. The team is dedicated and build a lovely sense of community. Their approach encourages a love of dance and movement. I really enjoy my Wednesday evening classes - wouldn’t be without it!

My eldest daughter who's now 11 started lessons with Dilek when she was four and three years later, her younger sister Ella joined too. They both love their classes with Dilek and her team so much that my eldest travels all the way from her new school in Brockley just to attend her class on a Wednesday eve in Waterloo. Last year's show the school produced was truly wonderful with amazing choreography and costumes. The girls are now working towards their next grade exam this summer. Dilek and her team are great teachers whom the girls really like and respect. I highly recommend this ballet school.

Miss Dilek is a wonderful teacher - firm but fun. My girls have learnt so much over the last few years and I'm endlessly impressed with their posture, they carry into daily life. The school put on a performance every two years, each one more wonderful and professional than the last. Dilek and the other teachers prepare the children well for the RAD exams and ensure the whole experience is enjoyable.

Knowledge. Passion. Caring. Three of the many things I could say about Dilek. Her skill set in her field of dance is somthing I have never seen before and her ability to teach these skills in a way that is understanding and effective is great. Dilek is a great dance teacher. Anyone who has the pleasure to work with her will not be disappointed!

My daughter started out as a tiny dancer at 2 years old with Dilek and her team. She is now 11 and a beautiful dancer due to the hard work, skill and expertise of everyone at DT Dance. Dilek and her team have a real passion for ballet which they bring to every class they teach. They strive for everyone to dance to the best of their ability with firm, but fun classes. My daughter enjoys her weekly classes, but also loves the additional Masterclasses Dilek organises with very skilled and well-respected dancers. This has helped her dance skills develop immensely. Not only has my daughter found a life-long love of dancing with DT Dance, but she has also made life-long friends in the classes. I recommend her classes to all who ask.

My daughter has been going to this school for about 2 years now and it has been a wonderful atmosphere for her to develop a new skill. The teachers are all friendly and my daughter enjoys every second of the lessons.

I originally found Dilek and her dance school when looking for a class for my 5 year old daughter as we had just moved to the area. When researching the classes available I discovered that she not only offered classes for children, but for adults of any age and ability. Having done ballet for 15 years prior, (with a large break in between) I decided that this was as good a time as any to get stuck back in. What started as ‘just doing the classes for exercise’ has blossomed into a fully renewed love for ballet. I have now been attending Dilek’s classes for 5 years and have never looked back. Dilek and her team are amazing and know exactly how to get the best out of you, whether you are an adult or child. I try never to miss class as it is the highlight of my week. I have now successfully completed a vocational exam and have participated in 3 ballet shows. I can’t recommend DT Dance enough!

I have trained with Dilek at DT Dance for 3 years, during which time I have benefitted enormously from her exceptional teaching skills. She is able to analyse and identify the root cause of challenges each individual student is experiencing, and provides tailored correction and guidance to help each dancer develop their individual skills to achieve their potential. Dilek has an incredibly deep knowledge and understanding of dance, boundless energy, and an infectious passion for ballet, and her classes provide both technical development and training in performance skills. She is as dedicated to the development of her amateur students who just have a desire to dance for pleasure as she is to those students who intend to become professional dancers. Classes are available for all ages and levels, and she brings all of these groups together when she creates a stage show. Dilek is an exceptional teacher and an inspiration, and I cannot commend her highly enough.
