Visited as a guest of New Look for their Beyoncé dance class and it was an amazing experience! Never sweat so much in my life and enjoyed every minute of that full hour session. The energy in the room was electric; the dance instructor was super patient and encouraging; and the space was just like in the movies with the floor to ceiling mirrors and dance pole to stretch. Phenomenal experience and one is highly recommend

Easily the best dance studios in London and probably the World. Have been sending dancers to classes here for over 20 years. Great friendly and edgy atmosphere. All studios with mirrirs, barre, sound systems and pianos. Varying sizes across 4 floors. Literally every type of dance class from beginners ballet and jazz to West end companies and reggaeton. Studios can be hired for very reasonable prices but they are busy. Classes range in price and you can join as a member. Highly recommended.

I hate this place. The people (other dancers) are really snobby and completely unsociable. It has that middle class staleness so common with spaces predominantly used by young Caucasians. The teachers lack the ability to really teach and often just go through routines completely wrapped up in themselves, there are a few exceptions of course. The staff are pleasant at times, I only ever had one inconvenient experience with a staff member where I was made to feel like a burden for asking for the location of the class. I wish there was more choice in London. This place benefits from being in a central location patronised by people who have more money than personality.

Great commercial space to participate in a varied range of dance classes. There's something suitable for all ages/levels to enjoy! Plus it's in the heart of Covent Garden, what's not to love!

I've tried Sensual Salsa on Wednesdays. It's brilliant! I've visited many salsa places before and I wasn't satisfied, actually those places made me said and thought I won't find a good place in London. Than my colleague mentioned Pineapple. I've never heard about it and thought okay let's try but I don't think it will be good. And 'my jaw fell off'! It was amazing! Very well skilled teachers, well structured sessions, fun-, friendly atmosphere and they can teach! If you want to learn dancing, Elena and Jorge (the teachers) are your people. Elena moves as I would like too and Jorge makes me feel that I can dance. High quality service and teaching , highly recommended for beginners and advanced too because they adjust the sessions to our level. Thank you Pineapple!

My partner and friends regularly hire a Studio for an hour, bearing in mind you are next to covent garden, you would be suprised how cheap it is, less than £35, worth hiring just to get somewhere to sit in quiet for a bit and have your lunch. There are Vouchers you buy for people as a suprise and Kids activities.

Went to an open day, it was awesome!! :D :D Was expecting the place to be a bit more modern, but it's OK, had a blast and was super pleased with Fleur—very sweet and feminine, competent, estimable dance teacher. Enjoyed the other classes as well. Only thing is that it would be good if you'd have lockers in the changing rooms. Will be going back! :D

Loved the vogue class I took yesterday! Lovely teacher, great introduction into new wave. Facilities are great, good spacious and light studio's and nice dressing rooms/showers. Clear information on website, I could find everything I needed to know.

Variety of classes, prices fairly reasonable for London rate. Very good location. The building itself could be a bit renovated but it works just fine. Studios are in very good condition. The teachers are lovely and motivating. Most of the classes are for intermediate to professionals, but there are few classes for beginners. Not sure if it’s suitable for complete beginners though. Would recommend it!

Love this place so much!! It's like my second home and all the teachers are absolutely lovely and supportive and always love a good laugh to make the atmosphere warm, welcoming and extremely fun! Thank you so much Pineapple for giving me so much confidence as a dancer and overall making me such a stronger dancer in general. Definitely recommend, even for beginners as everyone is welcome here and there is so many classes for all different kinds of levels!! :)

Very commercial and trendy but it can be fun I came this place 3 times, first time is for me and husband try out salsa dance class, second time is for my daughter's saturday class, 3rd time is today for Next Step workshop. I found the steep and old stairs quite off putting ( it is very narrow building with lots of studio rooms in many floors), but there is a lift, I think. I suppose mostly dancers are here so probably ok??? Parents are tend to be those stage mums with fashionable clothes, I feel quite out of the place (I am there for my daughter , not me anyway...). Very commercial as you know, there are Pineapple branded clothes everywhere. Demographic wise , I did not see many Asian or Black kids today in the workshop. I was a bit surprised since Next Step 's dance style is very mixed , hip hop included.

Great place but the building is to Claustrophobic and small. It’s very difficult to move around the corridors to exit. Staff very lovely

This studio has a very creative and welcoming feel to it. Although I am an absolute beginner, I tried many classes and all the teachers made me feel welcomed and supported even though I couldn’t keep up sometimes. It’s great that even someone without any formal dance training can attend a class with some experienced dancers, I find that very inspiring.

Brilliant place! Pineapple has become my second home, taking a gap year in between professional training is a nightmare when trying to keep up your skill but the classes at Pineapple are brilliant. I can drop in anytime which is brilliant when you're working full time, there are a variety of classes available in all styles and levels. The teachers are friendly and welcoming and you can tell they all have a passion for dance! Although sometimes the classes can get quite full, the teachers will always split the classes down into groups so that people have enough room, and the amount of people in the classes just show how amazing they are! Since dancing at Pineapple, not only have I kept up my skill but developed it further and I have grown so much as a dancer! So grateful to everyone at Pineapple!

I like this studio because of the diversity of dance classes. I get bored pretty easily and that’s why I tend to attend different classes every time. I enjoy all of them – the instructors are good, keep you cheerful and they have a really great music. I recommend Pineapple to anyone who likes to dance.

I used to go to their dance classes all the time when I was young and really enjoyed it, but things seem to have changed a lot. The classes are very crowded and there is poor air circulation. It is extremely sweaty and damp. The other students tend to be quite young and there is an environment of competitiveness/seriousness that isn't welcoming for more casual, older, dancers, wanting to have fun and get some excercise. Be careful about the descriptions of the levels. I had signed up intentionally to go to one class and it ended up being much more advanced than advertised. I would go to a few classes before getting a membership and be warned they are not flexible about memberships at all. It is a profit making institution! The location is great and the range is impressive but I think there are better places to go for dance classes in London these days.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, but at times can get crowded and too challenging - some beginner classes are very fast paced, but Tiger's hip hop class on fridays is particularly awesome and very beginner friendly, so there are teachers who really know how to deal with all levels! Over all a nice place to visit and learn

Did the Michael Jackson dance class. Felt like a professional thanks to the simple yet excellent teachings by the dance instructor. Not the class you would go to every week, but a lot of fun and laughs. Can't wait to try other classes at the famous studios.

I have enjoyed going to dance classes periodically at Pineapple Dance Studios now for many years and I love it. There is always something new happening and its great to be in that atmosphere with passionate dance teachers and students that are great at what they do. The classes are priced between £6 and £12 (of which you give to the tutor in class) depending on the level of the class. There is also a membership payment at Pineapple which you pay at the desk and is between £1 and £4 depending on your age, group and time of day you are dancing. This price is reasonable for London as I have paid similar away from London and you get what you pay for. Pineapple have a great range of dance classes and regularly put on dance/fitness courses from different companies around the world. Don't be afraid to go to a class here. Everyone is in the same boat. There are great dancers at Pineapple but there are great dancers everywhere. It is unlikely you will have professional dancers in your group unless you go to classes of that calibre, although you will see them around, you can cheekily spy them dancing by watching from the class windows. There is always time for a bit of star spotting here too, it is Pineapple Studios after all. My last tip is that dancers here don't normally wear Pineapple gear in my experience, but thats not to say you can't. They do have a shop down the road after all. It gets hot in Pineapple, so for classes take thin layers, that you can take off. It goes without saying that your clothes and footwear depend on the class you are taking to, and you can call Pineapple to find out what you need to wear if you are a first timer. Have fun dancing!

This review is for the "Modern Sensual Salsa" classes held at the Pineapple Dance Studios on Wednesdays. As it will be logged under the location anyway, I might as well say that the studios are good - conveniently located, well lit and fit-for-purpose. As far as the class is concerned, it gets a 5 star because of the brilliant team of teachers, awesome moves and the very effective regime of the classes. Jorge, Lilian, Elena and Haris are super people and genuinely fun to hang out with. The other students are a good lot to learn salsa with - the ladies are beautiful and good followers. The combination of partner-work and styling makes you just a bit more confident about showing off.

Awful experience. Studio rooms are super small, super hot and quite smelly, and classes are overcrowded. We had to split in three smaller groups to have enough space to dance, which means each of us got to dance for 1/3 of the class time. No lockers available, which means you need to carry your stuff with you and take even more space in those tiny rooms. Corridors are ridiculously narrow - I felt like I was standing on an overcrowded tube carriage full of sweaty people while waiting for my class to start (after the previous one overran..). Would not recommend.

Unfortunately I had an awful experience during my two taster sessions I had here. I took Commercial Street with Lil J, I have a limited experience in this genre and chose the beginners course. I had several dance teachers over the years and honestly this experience sets a negative record, quite unexpected as I was very much looking forward to joining this place! I was struggling quite a lot for the whole duration of the class due to the pace being fast for me, at times I had to stop and just watched my colleagues. I wasn't the only one struggling though... yet the teacher didn't acknowledge us at all for the whole time. I obviously don't expect a lesson to be slowed down or stopped for me but it would be nice if the teacher actually checked on most students throughout the class or at least gave directions on how to improve/what to do better. I felt signing up for the course would be a total waste of time and that watching a tutorial on youtube would have been more useful to improve my technique. Even after the class, no interaction at all. No questions, no suggestions, no brief introduction on the course, a very cold and unwelcoming environment - waste of money. :( oh and don't dare give them negative constructive feedback: they just don't know how to deal with clients, their social media must be in the hands of a 7 year old.. ❤ EDIT: your team at the reception was awful in answering any questions on courses both over the phone and in person straight before class. No one cared to explain one bit of how the whole drop in system and subscription work. The teacher was equally unbothered, even though I have PAID to receive a service that you should offer SPONTANEOUSLY not waiting for a newcomer to ask for help. but judging by the ignorant way you answer to customer feedback I am not surprised - you might want to step up your game and improve your TERRIBLE customer service, as bad as the smelly toilets and decades old facilities. More reviews to come, keep counting.

Great place where you can find classes for any dance styles you can think of. It feels too casual sometimes with some teachers but most of them know what they're doing.

I love this dance studio! It has a great variety of classes to choose from and all the instructors I have met till now are very nice and professionals in their area. Also, the prices are good and there are showers and a changing room which come in handy if you want to go out after class.

Never was a big fan of Latin dances, to be honest but now I realise it was just because I hadn't been properly introduced to them. I started coming here just to keep my sister company and get some kind of exercise as I'm too lazy for any other kind of activities. I thought I'd feel out of place and embarrassed but the teachers have been very encouraging and helpful and with every class, I felt more confident and excited. I'm having a lot of fun, I've met lovely new people and I'm positive now that signing up for these classes was one of my most constructive decisions I've ever made.

It is so crowded. The size of kids classes are far too big. Firstly I have been told there are 20 children in the class, on the second lesson 25 and finally there 27 children within one group. The kids are dancing in three rows. The last row of 5 years old are bored and half asleep as they cannot see at all what is going on at the front. The assistant teacher is helpful but to sixe of the class , spends considerable amount of time taking them to the toilet only. 27 children is a huge group it is very difficult to engage. The management is not helpful if you address those concerns after the payment was made. It was suggested I look for another school, apparently it is not for everybody...The toilet had no soap in during 3 hours I was there. There are some positives! The singing teacher was great!
