Royal Drawing School Shoreditch

Love this place! I have done two ten-week drawing courses here so far, with no experience at first. Great, tutored sessions, and excellent value for money!

My plans were ruined today after my friend and I were turned away from a drop-in session. Although early, the class had been booked in advance (which we didn't realise was an option). I know of many other places which offer life drawing who are much more accommodating and better at communicating who I will be sure to visit instead in future.

What a waste of money... Wanted to give my 10 years old son professional start in art... I'm an artist myself and what I have seen coming home every Saturday is a big joke... Practically every work done in chalk, there no classic knowledge of setting up painting, nobody corrected his painting and letting know how to work with shadowing, structure, horizon, perspective, colours, etc, etc...Just nothing good about this school - only locations! Don't go there, find a private tutor!

Great classes, cosy studio, I've learn so much there!

I was really looking forward to their drop in drink and draw class on Friday night and decided to go along with a friend. The website said to just show up but I was keen to get there early just in case... as I approached I saw people being turned away after awkwardly speaking into a speaker in the doorway. When it was my turn at the buzzer I was told that the class had been filled up with reservations (which the website didn’t suggest was even an option for this particular class). It was humiliating to be turned away through a speaker in a doorway. Myself, my friend and many others were completely shocked at our treatment and the complete failure to manage their bookings properly. My previous experience with the Royal Drawing School should have prepared me for their incompetence; last year I emailed them repeatedly and never got a reply or acknowledgement. This company doesn’t have a clue how to treat it’s students. Really disappointed and won’t waste my time with the ever again.
