Very unprofessional ,went to get some tyres on my car and it drove with vibrations immediately afterwards. Took it back and Found they had not balance the wheels in the first place which would cause excessive wear.Would not waste my money on unprofessional service.

Shocking had new tyre fitted got home it was flat turned out it had a punture on the inside when I phoned them up they said I was lying and haven't been there had to pay again to get it sorted as they wouldn't do it wont be using them again

Took my car in for two new front tyres. I asked for premium brands as that's what I trust and already had Yokohama tyres, but instead I was recommended Maxxiss tyres which they said were a mid range brand with premium performance, fair enough, I 'Googled' and saw evidence to support that so had them fitted and took a chance. No issues with that; I guess time will tell if my gamble will pay off.
HOWEVER, I must seem easy pickings for them, being a woman on my own in a garage, because as they drove the car around to me I heard an almighty clunk and then the mechanic said that it was my left ball joint and it needed replacing (a bold diagnosis having not even looked, but hindsight is a wonderful thing). Alarmed by the noise, I booked in to have it fixed for the next available time. So, I took my car back in at 8.30am on the arranged day and was told it would be ready in a couple of hours. Went back at 11am, no work had been carried out because they were waiting for a part and it wouldn't be ready until 1pm; needing my car, I drove off, frustrated. It is worth, at this point, stating that the clunking never happened again after the first and only time when I initially picked the car up.
Anyway, Christmas came and went, and on my mind was the possible issue with the ball joint even though it hadn't happened since. So, I took my car to my regular garage whom I trust implicitly; they had the car all day to not only check and repair the ball joint, but to investigate the clunking sound further. Their verdict: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. So, thank goodness that Speedys messed up their timings because I would have been royally ripped off, (£160 no less) and none the wiser. My trusted mechanics opinion was that they must have set up the clunk somehow by loosening a part to fall back into place in order to convince me of the non existent problem. Looking back, the fact that he never even checked the car to see the cause and then sent a nod to the man at the desk when I had agreed to book it in perhaps should have been my queue to run there and then, but hey, you learn. Absolute cowboys.
By all means, let them change your tyres (at this point, I can't fault them about that), BUT DO NOT LET THEM CON YOU BY POINTING OUT ANY OTHER DEFECTS, if in doubt, say "thank you for letting me know" and then go and take your car to a trusted garage for a check over. Do not book in for anything on their say so.

Best service by far! . Honest and reliable, no attempts to sell me anything I didn't need. I had my car serviced and tyres replaced and was so pleased with the job. Tosh is very professional, he also pointed out a few things that need attention that was picked up during the service and provided me a quote for those jobs straightaway......very proactive and informative. I would strongly recommend.

Not a good service. Had brakes done 6 months ago. Never got a reciept. He lied and said he had to disable the handbrake when they do not link to the front and charged me over 300 for pads and disks on the front. Also I am told by amother garage that the disks look much much older than 6 months old as there is a large lip. Very disappointed but no reciept. No proof so heres for you all to see.

And everytime they would beat or match any quote I get.
This place is so convenient you can leave your car and go to town and do your shopping.
I will recommend this place to everyone don't even think of going anywhere else in Derby.

They value their time a little too highly for their complete lack of expertise and will up charge whenever they like with mechanical issues. However for second hand wheels in a pinch they're pretty good and charge fairly. I do not recommend getting alignment and tracking done here however. Any other issues involving tyres they've been great!

I just got by tyre on my Maserati changed by Mani at 62 Babington Lane, Derby. He was fantastic and really honest. In fact the reason I returned to him was because the first time we popped in, despite what the maserati approved garage suggested that we 'could' change three of the tyres, Mani said only one needed changing.
Thoroughly recommend Mani at the Derby branch as honesty and trust is very hard to find these days. Great work and very happy thanks,

Honestly, have only good things to say about this place. The guys here are so incredibly helpful. I have lost my key for my tyre locks (so annoying) and everywhere else I have gone have just turned me away. These guys, never. They have always took the job on and at an amazing price too. Only £35 for welding it off and replacing the tyre. That's a bloody good price if you ask me! They are always so kind and polite and get the job done as quick as they can. Always a positive experience!! Thank you lads for making life just that little bit easier!!

Tip: pay with a credit card and use your section 75 protection if the work or service you pay for isn’t completed and the company won’t honorably give you a full refund. You are all also protected with a debit card using the Chargeback service, which again protects you if you do not receive what you pay for!!!
Some rude staff, extortionist. Car came back with scratches!!
Could tell full well certain paid for things weren’t done and parts weren’t removed or replaced as they stated as I marked them into position using a uv pen!

Bought what I was told was a brand new budget tyre £55 fair enough..... Went for my Mot a week later and only just passed as the tyre only had 1.7 mm tread! Legal limit is 1.5 mm

MOT and service on a Saturday... Fail MOT, they ordered the parts and said it would be ready on Monday. When pop in to collect in the evening they realized they forgot my car... Collected Tuesday evening and they realized they forgot to retest...after all morning waiting on Saturday I picked the car myself and went to retest (they use another garage for it)...to discover they forgot as well to replace the bulbs...
Avoid it completely...it's a complete mess...

Avoid Babbington lane speedys took my car there as the wheel was slightly out. Tracking. Came back 30.mins later drove the car absolutely nothing had changed. Demanded my miney back. Took to another garage that hadnt touched it only sprayed some.oil spray waste of money spend that extra little bit to actually get the job done. It’s such a shame that this garage fail to impress.
I took my car here for its MOT. I was told my car failed, which is fair enough. The failure reason was “brake imbalance”. I wasn’t told this over the phone (I had to chase as they didn’t bother to contact me), I was simply told that my front brake discs and pads needed replacing but this would be done by the end of the day. Having not heard anything, again, I chased and this time was told that my calliper has ceased up and they had changed it (without my permission) then a little while later when my partner rang, they’d also changed the brake fluid hose (again, without consent). As all of this failed to resolve the problem, when I rang again the following morning, I was then told that my ABS needed replacing. I was told by the manager that he was sourcing one. I rang back as I’d heard nothing by 3pm. The garage operatives had no idea what was going on and I was told the manager would ring me back in five minutes. Over an hour later, he finally contacted me to say that he was busy and the only ABS he could find would cost me £1100, parts only. Now, knowing a little about cars, I’m aware that with my car model, this is a common problem, however I questioned the price and spoke to a supplier and another garage. The supplier quoted £280 for parts and the garage quoted £450 for parts and supply. When I advised the manager of this, he told me He would speak to the supplier and sort it out. The following morning, he told me to go and get the part myself (bear in mind, my car is in pieces in his garage, where it has been standing for two days).
I spoke to another garage, who advised that I needed to get my car out of there.
I told the manager to stop work and I would collect my car and move it to the other garage. On arrival I was told that my car was no longer drivable, due to their butchery.
The manager is rude and feels that talking down to you and over you is the best way to do business. He shouted at both my partner and I. Utterly awful customer service.
My car was left in such a state it was undrivable, the garage I took it too for a second opinion advised I had been ripped off on the price charged for the “work” already completed and that they clearly have very minimal mechanical knowledge and rack up bills working on assumptions, rather than diagnosing the issue.
Don’t waste your time and money on this place.
