It's rare these days to meet a friendly staff member anywhere but the young lady who rang up my sack truck today was really friendly and polite. I didn't get her name but if the manager could let her know she's doing a cracking job!

Absolutely huge building with an equally huge range of products.
Seems or at least seemed to have a reputation as a bit expensive, especially in comparison to more 'trade' orientated shops; however, this in my experience isn't necessarily true.
Prices are generally on point with other comparable retailers and in some cases a fair bit cheaper.
Also worth a mention is B&Q's own brand, especially their Goodhome paints which are superb and match or exceed the quality of many 'premium' brands at a fraction of the cost.

An interesting place to walk around. You go in for a bag of nails and find yourself coming out with an angle grinder, two towel rails, a mirror, a wicker laundry basket and four cushions. A little pricy, but the staff are helpful and the quality is decent.

Very disappointed as web site had 3 items in stock, travelled over to the shop to find there were none in stock. Went for not one but two power tools. Actually at this time when we try to be careful I am very sad that I came out of shielding for NOTHING!!!

Store was good but online it said the item I wanted was available to order for click and collect (pickup in an hour), but when I went to the store there was none on the shelf. Bit of a wasted journey. Items shouldn't be listed as available if they are out of stock.

Never going back again to this store. Staying out of Derby full stop. Why do groups of Eastern European young men deliberately walk straight into your path so you have to walk around them.? Was only in this store half hour and it happened twice. Damn rude. I'll stick to the Eastwood store.

Got most of the items needed, and was served by very helpful lady. Shame that despite all the reminders, very few people were socially distancing. Some were just plain rude pushing past. I nearly walked out in frustration.

Vast store that contains almost everything you could ever want, and at decent prices. Helpful staff. One observation- when we visited we were accosted by quite an assertive chugger within the exit vestibule. I know that raising money for charity is a very worthy cause and that many charities will have suffered over COVID lockdown. But my concerns are: 1. I thought we were still meant to be reducing interactions with those outside household bubbles, especially inside 2. The chugger really was on the assertive side 3. The chugger stated that signing up to the charity scheme he was proffering was the only way that the charity sourced funds, which we know with certainty to be false (as we know they also have clothes collections and charity shops- which we support).
Aware this is a long post on this matter but, as this is one of very few interactions with a stranger over the past 13 months, it made an impression on us. Can those fundraising for charities please be reminded to be respectful to those exiting the store? Thanks!

Went to bnq today soon as walked in store was followed by 4 members of staff and a security guard they watched me buy all items I got and yes I paid went to walk out door a security guard stooped me and accused me of steeling shown receipt he checked 4 times they then barred me from the store all because I looked like a traveller I was disappointed in the way bnq treated me in front of my daughter and a store full of customers I've been going to bnq for years and never had a problem

I Understand the situation with COVID at the minute, and home decoration shops will obviously be busy due to many people getting things sorted around the house. However I spoke to someone today who instead of helping me, he repeatedly asked “how I got this number?” (Which took me directly to home and decoration section.) I explained that I got told to ring up when I initially went in to save me the trip into B&Q each week. They’ve removed the local shop numbers off the internet and replaced it with automated call message so you never get to speak to someone for help. In my eyes I believe it’s a cop out avoid speaking to anyone with queries/requests/products.

Came into look at laminate flooring for my daughters bedroom. The photographs and displays for a lot of the lighter coloured flooring is not representative, due to the age of the dispays and poor picture colour quality. So the only way to check the correct colour is to view the actual packages. Unfortunately B and Q staff dont like you doing this, so decided to go elsewhere.

certain products are heavily overpriced, do not plan to buy a large wood sheet and have it cut with the electric saw, reasons are below
1. saw has been out of service for over 6 months
2. when the saw is in service, no one is around to operate the saw.
Dont understand why they dont fix it or employ some capable of using the machine

Bought an oven, at Osmaston Park and wanted to check inside that it was hard wired as already been caught out buying one from somewhere else that had fitted plug,was told we didn't need to look as we'd be ok. Got it home ,started to unpack it and found the glass door was broken. Rang them up straight away and the member of staff couldn't have been more apologetic, was really helpful and will be taking it back in the morning for a replacement oven.
