You book a follow up appt for 9 months time and they don't send a confirmation letter out?? I rang up myself to double check to get someone who sounded as if I was wasting her time. In these times of COVID you have to ASK what the guidelines are for going to the hospital . The NHS send out all the info you need. We pay for a good service., not impressed at all..

Outstanding personal care by the nurses and the Consultants. A unique experience of one to one hands on care that truly made the day sit with consummate ease. Kendra and Jessica were true Angels.

I was told they do ados assessment when I booked appointment with dr rahman. When I had the consultation he said they didn't. They said they would send forms for autism they never did. I cancelled as my daughter had already been told by paediatricians at lighthouse she was autistic and it was the full formal diagnosis I wanted. I haven't even had any correspondence for the initial appointment yet they have sent me 2 invoices for the cost of the whole assessment which wasn't even done

My local Spire delivers a great service and over the past few weeks my investigations have been efficient and patient-centred.

I've had the best experience with Wellesley Hospital. Staff is very caring and kind. Highly professional. Clean room, delicious food. I definitely recommend this Hospital for the surgery and aftercare.

Called last week to book an ultra-sound for a damaged rotator cuff. Received the most unhelpful reply asking me to send copy of my referal (despite me reading it out) to figure out if they could book me in(sic). I shall definitely take my money elsewhere. Definitely the right way to lose customers and patients.

I have recently had quite major surgery at Spire Wellesley & I would thoroughly recommend this hospital to anyone currently choosing their options. From initial consultation through to procedure, involving a two night stay, every member of staff has been wonderful and made my experience so much easier than I could have anticipated. I was a nervous patient but everyone made me feel welcome and supported throughout this process. It would be my first choice should I ever need their service again and I have no hesitation in recommending them. Fantastic team & huge thank you to all x

I've had many procedures done at this hospital including spinal surgery and carpal and cubitol surgery on both arms and I cannot fault them, 3 days post op for carpal and cubitol and was very impressed with how they are dealing with the current covid situation......hats off to them! Staff very friendly and caring as usual.

My father recently underwent a minor operation at this hospital. I took him for an appointment this morning to have the dressing looked at. He is 85 years old, is a little hard of hearing and is currently undergoing investigations for memory loss and confusion. We were met by a lady at reception who advised its patient only. I explained the situation with regard to my father’s hearing and memory and would therefore like to accompany him (we had both sanitised hands and were wearing masks). She said she would have to “phone down” and got up to go and speak with the two other ladies who were sitting behind the main reception desk. When she explained to them my request, they exchanged glances with raised eyebrows and muttered “he’s just having dressings looked at, what’s there to remember “? I was extremely surprised at this rude and unprofessional reaction - my father is hard of hearing, not me! I could also quite clearly see them. I was very disappointed with the Wellesley hospital, it is not the kind of treatment I would expect, particularly as this is a service for which my father was paying a lot of money!

I hoped to be welcomed but both reception staff avoided eye contact until I asked for help. No smile just handed a registration form to complete. Then I was asked if they could take a photo copy of my credit/debit card. I asked why this was needed, as I’m insured. I was told they just want it on file. No explanation was given. Radiographer didn’t say a word to me but then shouted “No!” when I moved because I thought she’d finished. Awful experience by both departments. I don’t want my surgery there.

Its such a shame that your reception staff let you down. They honestly make you feel like you nothing. They don't look at you in the eye and there is one in paticular that how she is still there, I will never know. It is a shame, as the medical side which of course is the most important, is fantastic. However, when you first walk in, the initial introduction via reception is worse than poor. Shame on your admin team, people are vunerable when ill.

I can only say good thing's about my short stay at the Wellesley Southend Hospital, from the moment i arrived i was shortly shown to my room which was clean and tidy, the nurses was amazing explaining what happens next and putting my mind at rest. Mr Mathew Jakeways the surgeon who operated on me, done a fine job and i can't thank him enough. The whole team was very professional.

Have been here twice to see dr shrivastava paed. What a lovely man! My baby has suffered from cmpa and reflux since birth. Ive had numerous trips to the gp and hospitals but they have not been able to help. I decided to come spire. He was very knowledgeable and caring. Diagnosed my daughter and is always on hand if i have any questions. I would highly recommend this dr! The ladies are at reception however always seem too busy talking to each other than greeting you upon arrival. Not a nice way to be greeted when i am paying for my daughters treatment myself.

I went for an Mri Scan on my brain today and I was extremely anxious. The two people that were working in the MRI Scan department were so kind and caring to me and really put me at ease. They are a real credit to the Spire Wellesley Hospital. The man taking the images on the MRI Scanner was Simon David and the other man who held my hand during the whole half an hour I was in the scanner and showed great compassion and humour was Mehmet! The lady called Susan on the reception of the scan department who helped me make my appointment was really nice as well. Couldn't of asked for a better service.

Went in on 15.09.18 for orthopaedic operation with Mr Khan as an NHS patient and could not have asked for better care or conditions. Consultant, anaesthetist and nursing staff were all wonderful and booking appointments very easy. My only criticism would be that having been asked to attend at 7.30 am as a day stay patient, I then waited till after 3 pm to go down for my operation without any communication, by which time I had become very anxious. All in all though a very swift, positive experience from referral onwards

My wife had minor surgery on her hand. Previous to and post surgery the nursing staff were as expected and efficient. Surgeon was efficient and all appeared to go well in time frames expected. For a private hospital decor and general appearance is a little low rent. But things do work. However outside of the nursing and surgical staff things don’t run well at all. The room on the ward had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to my wife’s arrival. There were stains along the wall by the bed indicating drink or food had been spilled or thrown against the wall. The desk staff at reception were awful. Not very polite and definitely not welcoming. All seemed to be busy with something on the desk or monitor that seemed much more important than dealing with patients and visitors. I saw no one that was immediately greeted. Everyone I saw including my wife and me were told to wait before being allowed to speak to them. I understand that people are busy. But this is the primary reason for these people to be working. This is a hospital where people are paying a lot of money for a better service. Just not trying. Then the next day we attended outpatients. Same issue. Poor desk service. We arrived three minutes before our 10 am appointment. Wasn’t seen until 10:35. Again not trying. That’s NHS behaviour. I think they are a little confused about who is paying the bill here.

Was an NHS patient and was treated really well by every person in each dept I used. My Dr, Mr Jakeways, ensured I received the very best treatment and reassured me with his knowledge and professionalism. So pleased I was referred there and very happy with the entire experience

What a joke. Phoned and phoned and phoned for hours getting only the same automated system just bouncing me from one automated list to another. Absolutely nothing personal about these people. No wonder they require improvement for Caring and Well Led..as it has become absolutely apparent, they are no where near being either!

I was admitted as an NHS patient for an inguinal hernia operation and could not have asked for better treatment if I had been paying lots of money. The efficiency of the Receptionist, the care and attentiveness of the nursing staff, the relaxed comedic anaesthetist and the consultant's professionalism all served to make my treatment a wonderfully straightforward procedure. Would I recommend the Wellesley? - you bet.!

I am a nhs patient.... wow and didn't I feel like it at this hospital. Maybe if I was paying I may have been treated better. Thing is I work and have never had to have hand outs. This hospital made me feel worthless. As for my treatment looks like I am back to square one. No one should be made to feel this way. One plus side the nurses are absolutely amazing.

Absolutely awful service waited over 1/2 hr to be called to be sat around corner with people still in front of me which would of been another 1/2 before being seen. Not the first time this has happened at this hospital. Walked out without seeing consultant (who came in late) Will find another hospital for future appointments
