Phoned up on Thursday to book an appointment for Friday evening, when phoning on Friday despite taking my details on Thursday no one from office staff had any clue about the appointment even existing, lady said she will Mark it as urgent --- 2 days later, no call - i think its best to try another institution, if they forget about booked appointment they will probably forget they even had a patient

Amazing experience. Every member of staff were extremely friendly, helpful and super understanding with my mental health and anxiety. I knew what was happening and was talked through every step of the procedure and process. Their bedside manners were so welcoming and caring. I was looked after thoroughly throughout my stay and after i went home i recieved a check up phone call a few days after to see how i had settled at home. I would like to thank all the staff for their understanding and support with my anxiety as i had to do it alone due to the virus circumstances.

Excellent care and attention from the staff during my recent visit for a small operation, paid by NHS, from arrival greeting in morning until my departure late afternoon.

I have recently been admitted to the Spire Alexandra Hospital for surgery and outpatient care. The service that I received was excellent. All the staff were so caring and professional. I could not have asked for any better service. All of the appointments that I have attended have run to time and I was able to pick my surgery date that best suited my needs. I would highly recommend the Alexandra to anybody requiring their services.

I had my hip replaced at Spire Alexandra Hospital and within 2 months I felt amazing. The hospital was so professional and joint school really helped me with me rehabilitation. I have recommended to my friends that are trying to delay seeing an orthopaedic consultant because my surgery, operation and recovery was so amazing - thank you Spire!

My mum recently came for surgery at Spire Alexandra following on from her initial appointment there. The staff were amazing, really professional and friendly and completely put my mum at ease before her operation. I have recommended Spire Alexandra Hospital to all of my friends and family and wouldn’t hesitate to use the hospital if I ever needed any treatment.

I would just like to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful treatment and care you all showed to me following my recent hysterectomy. I was extremely nervous and daunted by the fear of the unknown but you were all so kind and reassuring. I would definitely recommend the Spire Alexandra.

Staff not very friendly especially reception staff, felt like it was a chore rather than a service being provided. Scan procedure was ok though.

I came into Spire Alexandra hospital for an outpatient appointment. The reception team were really friendly and as I was nervous this immediately made me feel at ease. The consultant was really nice and took time to listen to me, he was very informative and gave me options for treatment in the same appointment. Afterwards I was seen by the self-pay team who reassured me again and gave me details of pricing. I didn’t realise that I could spread the cost of surgery each month. Great team from start to finish - I've confirmed my surgery for two weeks’ time.

If you have to go to hospital I can't recommend the Spire Alexandra highly enough. The hospital itself is more homely than 'clinical' which promotes a more relaxed and comfortable environment than some of the newer hospitals I've attended The staff are exemplary, very professional and meticulous whilst still being friendly with a good sense of humour, even at the end of a long day.

Disgusted!!! My niece came to this excuse for a hospital and was treated like a leper...staff commenting offensively with 'ughh..you're an NHS patient'. She's gone through enough without being treated so badly. You need to sort your staff out..they obviously have no bed-side manner, in fact no manners at all!! How is this any way to treat a patient?? I'm so shocked and surprised as I was going to make an appointment myself to see someone at this hospital but I will be looking elsewhere. I don't want to be treated like dirt. No option for NIL stars but that's what I give! Angry from Chatham!!!

Thanks for looking after me during my apppointments, without such friendly faces and caring staff my appointments would have been a very daunting experience. I’ve recommended to all of my friends and family who live locally to the hospital.

Very good hospital, it's private but well worth it, my dad basically became crippled and no NHS doctors would help. He went private, and these surgeons gave him his life back. He's walking and living life as normal again.

I have had full knee replacement performed on both knees at this hospital in June 2016 (right) and March 2017 (left). The treatment, accommodation and post op care were all excellent. The surgery was carried out perfectly by Mark Norris. Recovery has given me excellent mobility with no pain at all (right knee) and the left knee, which was replaced on 24th March 2017 (six weeks ago), is headed in the same direction. I restarted daily swimming a couple of weeks ago which is helping with my recovery. I hope to be back on my bike soon. I had Hi Flex Next Gen knee replacements. I would recommend this hospital.

Good facilities, unprofessional staff. Booked in for a procedure, they sent me a pack that didn't have all vital information about the procedure. Nurses are unprofessional, leaving the doors opened all the time, need to repeat a request few times before it happens, very slow to respond. No specific timings for the consultant visit or the length of time the procedure takes....whenever I asked about that they said they don't know which makes me think they are either very disorganised or lying....Good facilities, shame about the treatment....

I visited Spire Hospital as a self-funded patient to assess and resolve elbow, shoulder and neck pain which had been plaguing me and had resulted in not being able to work or even drive a car for 6 weeks. My first appointment was with a Physiotherapist named Lorcan. The appointment involved him asking me some routine questions and then physically doing some tests which were very forceful and I came away with more pain than I went in with. The diagnosis was vague and the focus was on strengthening my muscles which he believed was the main problem, which ignored the fact that I had been in good physical condition before the onset of the elbow pain – keeping my arm immobilised was what then subsequently led to the muscle weakness! On my next appointment I was given 5 minutes of acupuncture and a 5 minute massage. This appointment lasted 20 minutes but I was charged for the full 30 minute appointment. I felt no better than when I came in. My subsequent two appointments were with a different physiotherapist called Mona. Mona had apparently replaced Lorcan and they were both locums so not permanent staff. Her bedside manner was much friendlier than the previous physio, however she was also very vague on the cause of my pain and her approach seemed very “one size fits all”. She gave me an extremely painful trigger point massage and the appointment lasted only 15 minutes but once again, I was charged for the full 30 minutes. That massage left me in pain for 48 hours afterwards and I decided to give up and try another private physiotherapy clinic. I’m so glad I did, because I have now been correctly diagnosed with lateral and medial epicondylitis along with nerve inflammation stemming from problematic trapezius muscles, levator scapulae and intercostal vertebra. The physio I visited was able to explain all of this to me confidently and in detail and has been giving me treatment which is actually helping and never leaves me in pain after the session. On another note, the clinic space at Spire is very minimal and cramped which gives the impression that bringing someone in with you is not encouraged, and the bed is very uncomfortable. In short, I would strongly recommend against using Spire for physiotherapy as I was misdiagnosed and the appointments were rushed and painful. Other private physio clinics offer a far better service at a similar price, and I’m pleased to say I’m now on the road to recovery.

Paid for consultation for my child for a rash on his skin. The diagnosis was inaccurate and the prescribed medication was wrong. Expected better standards considering the money I paid for 15 minutes.

I will not write a review as such, I will copy the letter I sent to them today, which explains everything. I have had two bad experiences with The Spire Alexander, and they have caused me to realise you care nothing for patients, you care only about money for yourself. The first was a few months ago, I came in for a minor, one day procedure in the afternoon. As is normal, I was not allowed any food for a minimum of six hours prior to my anaesthetic. I was asked when I arrived what I would like to eat after the procedure, and, knowing I had not eaten all day, I requested two chicken sandwiches. A couple of weeks later, I received an invoice for £4 because I had two instead of one sandwich. As I had not eaten all day, to ask for two sandwiches was hardly excessive, and I was disgusted to receive this demand. When I next went to the Spire I complained at the reception, and even your own staff were horrified. I refused on principal to pay. The second event was more recent. My GP asked for a blood test, and as I had been unwell for some time, I asked if it could be done privately to speed up the process, and this was done. Last week I received a notification from BUPA that my £1,000 annual outpatient allowance had been exceeded. This caused some confusion, as I knew that several hundred pounds were still available. After speaking with BUPA, I discovered that the blood test had cost over £340, and it was this that had used up my allowance. At no time was I advised of the exceptional cost of this test, if I had been I would not have had it done privately. I called The Spire, and was told that I could not be told the cost as the amount varied depending on who was paying, sometimes widely, which is ridiculous in the extreme. No shop charges a different amount for a product to different people without telling them. It is totally unacceptable to try to state it was not possible to warn me of the cost prior to having the tests, even an approximation is apparently not possible, which I do not accept. I was due for an appointment tomorrow for another diagnosed problem, I have had to cancel it as I am currently out of work, I lost my job in March, and therefore I cannot afford to pay myself, so I can now not see the doctor I was referred to. The charge for the sandwich, coupled with not warning me about the huge cost of a blood test shows you care nothing for patients, that you are a greedy, self serving organisation interested only in money. I hope I never have to deal with your "hospital" again.
