Sean did a great job removing my old, busted water heater in the basement and installing a newer, more efficient unit. Called early on a Saturday morning and Sean arrived sooner than I expected. Work was done smoothly and professionally and everything was completed by early afternoon. Sean did a great job walking me through every step and explaining the new setup once it was installed. I would recommend Sean and Mendel to anyone in need of service, repair, or upgrades.

Very professional, same day service. Fixed current issue gave me through email information and quotes to improve for future. Also took the time at no extra charge to look at sump pump system and give professional advice. Also informed me exactly when and who was coming with a photo and information. Mendel’s always does an amazing job. Quick response time, professional communication, experienced people. With our new home we have had a number of fixes and improvements. They have always had someone out on the same day or next. I have heard other folks say go with a cheaper service. You get what you pay for, piece of mind and confidence the job will be done right the first time. Great company and service.

Vince was here at 8am, right on target. He quickly performed 2 tasks:
1-serviced our generator which was also installed by Mendel a couple years ago.
2-spring checkup of our 2 air conditioning units also had been installed by Mendel.
We find Mendel to be prompt, professional, reliable and friendly all around.
Our experience: Cheapest is not always best!

Mendel has serviced, repaired or installed most of equipment in my house over the last 10 years. On the PM program, replaced furnace, water heater (same day service), emergency repair on a holiday (same day service), installed all electrical in my garage (same day service when other guy ghosted me) on on a major project. They are never the cheapest, but service is high end, they warranty and stand buy their work and it’s always done right. Have them programmed in my phone. Couldn’t be happier.

We invited Mendel to our home to give us a 2nd opinion on a plumbing job. Our reservations were put to rest when our technician Eric correctly diagnosed the problem but more importantly - provided us a much more reasonable array of solutions to correct it. Mendel appears to be a stand-up company, but Eric was truly exceptional - helping us to understand and digest the issue and the steps we needed to take. He's made a believer of us - signed up to be on their service plan for the year! Thanks Eric and Mendel!

I just paid over $500/hr labor to repair a toilet. My bill after "discounts" etc. was $622.27. I had the tank flushing system replaced and the cut-off valve replaced. You can't pay $100 for these parts. As far as I can tell, it's the same parts Home Depot sells for$15 or so + plus the valve. We needed it fixed and were having a hard time finding someone and my wife said "why don't you call Mendel, how bad could it be?" Well, we found out! Next time I'll just pee in the yard until someone else can come.
The work was fine and neat. Mendel would just give us a day with no window, which was irritating. The technician spent a large portion of time on the IPad. I don't believe the actual work took 45 minutes.

Cormac came out in the midst of our basement flooding. He was professional and empathetic. He gave sound recommendations, remedied the problem and left us in good working order. After his repair work, we requested him to come out and replace our sump pump and the battery for the back up. Again, our experience was excellent. Admittedly, Mendel is a bit higher in price, but they are the epitome of you get what you pay for. They have secured our business now and in the future.

Removed and replaced main sump pump, check valves and switches. Called in the morning, that were there by 2:30, gone about 4:30. Cormac and his apprentice were thorough, friendly, informative and skilled. Really great experience-same as it’s always been with Mendel’s for the 20+ years I’ve been using them. They are expensive, but the level of service is worth it to me.

My heat went out overnight and it was -2 but thankfully my townhouse stayed at 50 degrees.
I gave 3 stars because I was shocked at it costing $920 to replace the motor. Plus, I was having to pay for the $98 service charge which most companies cover if they get the job. The nice technician did decide to not include that...hopefully. Mendel, however, was fast getting here in the morning after sending my request for service in the middle of the night, via their website. Very courteous and intelligent technician came to do the work.

Paul was kind, informative and very professional. He works hard and taught his interns well. Glad to have the work done by Mendel. Only problem was truck left a large oil spill on our new white concrete driveway! They tried to clean it up, but it got a little lighter but not gone, very disappointed.

Eric was great. Highly knowledgeable with awesome customer service skills. Mendel is a stand up company and trust their work. While Eric was out here, he noticed that some previous work done about 4 years ago was no longer in code. He saw that Mendel did that work, made me aware, and the proceeded to redo all that previous work and Mendel did NOT charge us for that work. Amazing customer service by Mendel!

Replace sump pump back-up batteries and replace a sump pump. We have used Mendel for years. They are pricey, but fast and thorough. They also keep great records of when various equipment was installed. I have always found their technicians to be pleasant and very good at explaining the work they are doing. We will continue to use them for HVAC and plumbing work.

Cormac C. provided the best service. He explained everything he needed to do to fix the pipe before he started working. He answered all my questions and reexplained when needed. When he finished he showed and explained all the repairs and he did exactly what he said he would need to do. The work site is clean and he was very courteous. I would defiantly use Mendel Plumbing again.

I wanted one more quote for replacing both of my water heaters which were going on about 10 yrs and I’ve seen the Mendel vans everywhere. Unlike the other 3 that were able to quote over the phone, Mendel stated that they don’t quote over the phone but would like to send somebody out so they could see what needed to be done. I actually thought that made sense. They promptly scheduled somebody to come out and had great communication via text up until my Mendel SALES guy came out. All 3 of the previous quotes were within $60 of each other. Mendel came in at $2500 more. I quickly escorted my sales guy out the door and as he was leaving said....I have no idea where these other guys are getting their water heaters from. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do yourself all a favor and price around as these guys will try to impress you with their follow up and timely responses, but all of that must cost a lot of money and Mendel needs to recoup their technology investment.

Max did a great job diagnosing the situation with our old main sump pump and battery back up sump pump. He explained the issues and my options thoroughly, then was able to replace the broken system with a new one in the same visit. Great service!

Motor/Inducer rattling on Carrier furnace. John C from Mendel quoted $1300 for replacement and told me he could almost guarantee I need a Heat Exchanger for the one unit and would have to check if the other one needed it too and thought it would. Heat Exchanger was under warranty and I would have to pay for the labor. Labor is $1920 for the Heat Exchanger alone (1 unit). ???? I asked what labor rate: $231/hr (seemed high!) and it was 4 hours. I said ‘wait! That’s $924! What’s the other $1000 for?’ He said for buying the unit and removing the old unit and shipping it back (cost of doing buisness?!?). I asked what the job total was. He said I can take the inspection charge of $49 off and get you 15% discount on the cheapest part and the total would be $3600 (1 unit). I told him that I would just pay the inspection and thanked him for the 30 mins. He said that will be $129. ????.
Had All Seasons Heating come out 2 hours later. He said ‘this hose is off (I remember seeing Mendel guy pulling it off saying it was loose and he was fixing it). $896 and replaced motor and inducer which included inspection charge!! Also said, “you absolutely don’t need a heat exchanger and it looks totally normal (before quote)”. Don’t go to Mendel!!! Call All Seasons!!! So impressed!!!
Moral of the story: Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered!! I actually told John C from Mendel that...

Called in the morning about my furnace not working. Was able to get a technician out to my house within a few hours. Nick was courteous, knowledgeable, confident and patient (since I was also trying to deal with my home warranty company to get some of the cost covered). Nick did a great job of explaining what he found and provided multiple options in terms of what had to be repaired to get the furnace running, and also what wasn't broken, as such, but was showing signs of potential failure. The decision was then up to me how much (or how little) I wanted done. After that, he continued his good work on the actual repairs and got the furnace running.

My water heater died, I called Mendel right at 7:30am when they opened the next day, and by 9:30am there was a tech at my house. I ended up purchasing a new water heater which was delivered and installed that day, all work completed by 3pm. Jesse was very professional and knowledgeable, did a great job! The job was not cheap but I believe in paying for convenience, responsiveness and timeliness. Thanks Mendel!

Technician came work for about 3.5 hours very professional guy and said we can’t figure out what’s wrong, your charge is $648. Am I missing something in this transition? I thought you only pay for getting problems fixed. Big ripoff. $198 per hour is the charge just to come and spend some time and bill the customer, what an excellent way to rob customers and make money.
