Marnie Searchwell Handmade Cakes

Marnie was fabulous from start to finish! I really needed some chocolate cupcakes for my sisters birthday and needing them to be gluten free and not much of a baker myself, I really struggled to find where I could get just what I was looking for. I found Marnie’s website online and immediately enquired. We had great correspondence back and forth and everything was very clear about options, prices and services available. I knew from the first email that this was the perfect lady for the job and she did amazing! She made beautiful chocolate cupcakes with the prettiest pink frosting- it was everything I had asked for and more. Payment was super easy via transfer and I was able to collect the cakes and meet Marnie who is truly amazing! Could not recommend this business enough and will be getting more cakes as soon as I can ;) Thoroughly pleasant experience and my sister loved them! I've been buying cakes from this amazing lady for years and am so shocked she doesn't have more reviews!! Guilty so am combining all my saved up reviews here!! She has won so many awards and rightly deserves them. The best ingredients, very accommodating with her ingredients for those with allergies and full of knowledge and advice. Which is why she is now making my wedding cake - coconut and lime!! Yum!! And the wedding cake tasting.... An experience in itself!! Reine de saba is my top favourite of all cakes as I love Appleton rum and the dark chocolate. A small slice is enough to be satisfying and I don't have the horrid aftertaste of the rich, sugary cakes that are store bought. I would say her chocolate brownies are a close second favourite as they are to die for!! And then she comes out with deluxe chocolate brownies!! Pure heaven. I also love her lemon and pistachio cake I purchased recently. It didn't last long at home!! If you're hesitating, do go to one of her events in the future, or order a small cake to try, and you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a wedding cake, have a look at her amazing cakes. They are pieces of art. I used to be part of her cake club but had to give up due to my diet but as I'm writing this review, I'm tempted to rejoin!!

Marnie managed to make a gluten, dairy and soya-free rich and moist “milk” chocolate cake with a day’s notice, of the likes I havent tasted since I could eat normally. The birthday girl was overjoyed at having not only delicious cake, but that everyone else could enjoy too with clear and in-depth ingredients listed. The price is worth it for a special occasion, as the ingredients are top quality, and well-used to create a truly scrumptious cake. We will be repeat customers.
