I saw Caroline Merrick in the Physiotherapy Department today, having had the plaster cast removed from my badly fractured wrist. She could not have been more helpful, explaining well what had happened to my wrist, why the consultant had plastered it the way he had and what was needed and expected going forward. I feel very much relieved about the healing process since seeing her. I would also like to mention that the all the staff in the department were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this service at MAH very highly.

I recently attended the hospital for a surgical consultation. The service was excellent. All staff members were very friendly and professional. I was referred for Xrays and was seen very quickly. I found the hospital environment very friendly, the staff efficient and felt I received a comprehensive service. I would highly recommend this hospital.

Mount Alvernia is an oasis of calm professionalism. Hospitals are typically associated with something wrong that needs to be fixed. Or a fear that needs to be reassured. But if your in the hands of friendly, genuinely caring people who are are dedicated to your peace of mind and physical well-being a hospital can be a place you look forward to visiting. After several visits to see my consultant Mr Lemon regarding a knee replacement he has just Completed the operation. The entire experience - indeed the entire team - could not have been more efficient or better organised. I now have a new knee made of cobalt and chromium and am mercifully free of pain. I could not have cared for better. Mount Alvernia is a first class hospital. If I were a consultant I can think of nowhere better for the care of my patients. As a patient, I’m jolly glad Mr Lemon chose this one for me.

I have recently required multiple visits to the Imaging department at Mount Alvernia and each time have received exceptional care from the team. Each step of the process was always explained clearly, my 3 CT scans required contrast which can feel uncomfortable but thanks to Amaryllis, Jane and Colette nothing was unexpected and I was well prepared. My final test was in nuclear medicine where Nish and Yovan took me through the process step by step, it makes all the difference having a procedure when you have staff who are clearly knowledgeable and you are their one focus. These teams are a credit to the hospital. Many thanks.

Visited Mount Alvernia today for acupuncture in the physiotherapy department. Excellent service, Keryn was very knowledgeable and professional. The admin team were great, despite the rather archaic payment system. Would definitely recommend.

I attended Mount Alvernia Hospital in the breast cancer care clinic. The staff were very welcoming and understanding of my concerns. They were very thorough in their investigation and gave clear responses to my questions in a humane manner. For example, as I wasn’t able to ask a family member to accompany me due to COVID restrictions (and knew I was nervous about my appointment before attending) they arranged for a lovely nurse to stay with me throughout the consultations, which was very considerate. I saw Dr Singh, and would absolutely recommend the clinic to anyone who is looking for a thorough screening. Thank you for settling my anxieties and taking care of me

The place is modern but that is all. Parking is horrible and service is not great... due to a high google rating i have chosen this hospital to get my diagnostic tests done however the lady who did my scan were so cold and very unfriendly. Needed to get half undressed but the changing room and scan room are apart - very awkward walking with gown to the scan room. The scan was done in less than 5min and didnt seem to put enough effort to see carefully, nor try to communicate with me. I have asked twice to get my invoice that said Paid in full but keep getting normal invoices which delays my process to claim to my insurance. They insist it can only be sent by post due to stamping 'paid in full' but 2 times in 2 weeks i have tried they got it wrong. Now i have to try again. I asked if the invoice can be emailed but got refused, which i had no problems with other hospitals. I have not gone private to get this level of experience -Very frustrating... i will not visit again.

A huge thank you to the amazing staff and nurses at Mount Alvernia hospital and in particular, St Clare’s Ward where I stayed after my hysterectomy in Feb 2021. No job was too much or a bother for anyone. The nurses that looked after me were professional and supportive with that human touch that one needs when unwell or vulnerable after a major op. The ward was clean and had recently been refurbished. All bedrooms were en-suit and felt private with beautiful views out which helped in my recovery. There was WiFi and tv. Food was good and the catering staff were able to provide for special dietary requirements too. I am gluten and dairy free. A special thanks to Doru, Jenni, Zarina, Marryann and everyone who was there that weekend of 12-14 Feb that I haven’t mentioned by name here. I was rather out of it and couldn’t note down the names of all my lovely nurses but a huge thank you nevertheless. My gynaecologist Dr Renata Hutt was absolutely brilliant at diagnosing and treating me for my symptoms of multiple pelvic organ prolapse and fibroids.. I highly recommend her. It took me years to find the right doctor that finally listened to my concerns and was able to genuinely help me. The operation went well and the level of care I received was exceptional. I am touched by the commitment the staff had toward their patients. The physios were at hand and I felt supported throughout my recovery even after I was discharged. I felt, and was able to, call whenever I had concerns and always felt the nurses had time to really listen and help me out. My anaesthetist Dr S Comara, sensed how nervous I was before the op and without me saying anything, she served to assure me and comfort me the whole time. She even visited me the next day when I was in recovery to see how I was. I was so appreciative and so moved by the standard of care. A personal touch. Thank you.

The entire team at Mount Alvernia are just fantastic! Starting from Lauren, who arranged my appointment with Mr Ward, she was great at getting back to me quickly and arranging the appointment within 2 days. Then seeing Mr Ward, who was great and really took the time to explain things to me. Very open honest and straightforward. I saw Mr ward at 7pm and he requested an MRI scan. So I was expecting to have to arrange this for the next day, but to my amazement the imaging team reopened the MRI scanner just for me to have my scan. Would never happen in a private hospital in central London. So after the scan saw Mr Ward again who said I needed an arthroscopy. My initial date was late Feb, but after the great work of Lauren and the Mount Alvernia admission team, they booked me in on 11th Feb. I then had to come in for a pre-assessment and Georgina was great. Took me through everything and explained what would happen on the day of surgery. We had a few issues with pads sticking during my ECG, but after some innovative use of tape she got it done. She has a great sense of humour and really made the whole experience stress free. I would also like to thank Caragh Butter who has been amazing in getting everything sorted and booked in. She is happy to go above and beyond just like Lauren and Georgina. So the entire team are excellent. I have been to many private hospitals in central London (prior to moving to Guildford) and I can confidently say that they could learn allot from Mount Alvernia. Great job and I am that much less nervous about my surgery next week.

Only interested in your money. The GP was only interested in getting her £85 and nothing else. I have tried to call the GP secretary (a dozen time everyday) but she does not seem to know how to use her phone. Even the NHS is better than BMI ( and they claim to be private)....

I found all services professionally and respectfully delivered. All staff were caring and call bells answered in a timely manner, never once was the phrase ‘I’m busy’ used and my needs anticipated. I had no post operative nausea so well done anaesthesia team! Food excellent!! Catering staff willing and friendly Bearing in mind I am a nurse of 30plus years in the field I notice every detail. The full marks is not awarded without careful consideration. I am not one for enthusing without reason so well done to the whole team.

Great hospital came here for an operation a few years ago. They saw me quickly and were able to find out what was wrong and operate asap. Aftercare great, free paper brought over when i arrived and wonderful selection of food (after) my operation. No rush to discharge me even though i was there for a good long time. Nothing else has gone wrong after the operation so happy.

Holding for 15 mins to try to get an appointment, then a further 5 mins going through questions for them to advise that they don't work weekends. Had previous consultations here which were terrible, only forced to consider as options limited. If you can go elsewhere - do it.

Brought my wife here for a problem with her knee. Very friendly and helpful staff, the doctor we had was excellent. Really far exceeded our expectations. There's a couple of reasons for dinging them a star. First off, the parking is really pretty terrible, extremely limited spaces and quite small. It's fine if you're driving a Ka or Fiat 500, but beyond that it's going to require some negotiating. This was further compounded by the lift being out of service that takes you up to the hospital. Not a problem if you are simply ill, but my wife was on crutches and stairs were out of the question. So, to negotiate that, it requires gaining access to the consultant's lot, dropping her off, driving out and then about a mile loop or more to get back to the hospital so you can hope there is a space to park when you get there. Worst part was that when we came back the next week, the lift was still out of service. Loved the people and service, but the facilities are working against them.

Very small car park and constant building work. The car parks are tiny and when the scanner visits it is parked in the lower car park which is then closed to patients. Every time I visit there seems to be someone drilling and the noise travels through the whole building.
