Following my 2nd stroke I was transferred from JCUH to Redcar Primary Care Hospital. For my entire care I had Bedroom 28 in Zetland Ward. This was en-suite with Shower Room and Toilet. Exclusively mine for my entire stay. I have been considerably impressed by the quality and dedication of the team of Health Care Professionals working throughout the Hospital. They made my stay with them a most pleasant and tolerable experience which helped me enormously to come to terms with my recent stroke. Thank you all!

Good social distancing measures in place, guidelines for all hospital visitors / patients to follow clearly visible, handsanitiser available on entry, seating spaced out, notices for facemasks to be worn. Good sized car park with plenty of spaces and free.

Had a very bad experience last year, when I went into Podiatry for a routine partial big toenail removal surgery. The first time it was done it was botched and they did not do a very good job. I was in constant pain for nearly 3 weeks, until I saw my normal Podiatrist at Guisborough Hospital, whom said it has not healed, is infected, and the rest of the toenail will need to come off. Went back to Redcar to get it removed and the other Podiatrist did a great job. It still took ages to heal though. If it had not been botched, it would have healed in the usual 12 weeks. instead it took 5 months. Would not recommend this hospital for minor surgery.

Wonderful care for my wife this morning...within an hour she was seen twice by nurses, x-ray and operation booked in for the next day! Pleasant receptionists, Nurses and Radiographer...can't thank them enough...we walked (hobbled) in and were seen almost straight away. As a rule we don't visit hospitals on a whim - it's got to be important and on this occasion, we had no alternative for treatment...in fact we are from Coulby Newham and had no idea Redcar Hospital had facilities for minor injuries. Lovely staff. Thank you.

Think I should get a job there (joke). Mother in law was in for 5 weeks, Zetland ward. This was after 2 1/2 weeks in James Cook, and a few days at Guisborough, 4 weeks rehabilitation at St Peters. Finally got her home and then her sister took a fall. Now in Redcar primary. Guess where I'm going today. Everyone at Redcar primary were very good. Food is chosen from a menu. Drinks and snacks are always available. Visitors are welcome at any time.

Jim and Norma posting publicly. Tonight, 22nd February 2020, Norma (my wife) and her brother David’s father passed away in Zetland Ward. It may seems early to do this post, but it demonstrates the wonderful care the staff gave Dad with compassion and empathy always. They allowed Dad to keep his dignity and treated him always with respect whilst keeping us informed of his treatment all the time. This small hospital is staffed by NHS angels and this needs to be shouted from the rooftops. We can ‘t thank you enough. Eric Porter’s family, Norma, David, Jim & Chris.

Excellent service. I work for nhs and had to use the service after sustaining an injury at work. I had hardly any time to wait and I was called in and examined. I was treated and referred to occupational health for precaution inoculation in no time at all. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is brilliant. I'd not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

My mum is here now, and in her last stages of life. The staff can't do enough for my mum and for us as a family who are staying with her 24hrs. The hospital is modern, bright and spacious and clean and again can't be faulted. Thank you to the staff for affording my mum the dignity and pain relief she deserves in these final days, we're very grateful to you.

Sat around for 2 hours waiting for my injury to be seen, only to get a 1 minute-long conversation with a rude-toned woman whom gave me nothing but angry vibes and pretty much told me to sort it out myself...

What a marvelous experience. Free parking, wonderful staff who were really helpfull. The coffee bar was fantastic and all the food was home made. A real joy to see as most hospitals now have catering done of site. Please keep up the standards and spread the word to other hospitals that patients would prefer this kind of treatment.
