This is a beautifully appointed private hospital, designed and landscaped to enhance patient experience. The medical and administrative staff were kind, caring and helpful, and all processes were explained at each stage. Relatively stress-free compared with other visits to public and private hospitals I have made around Dublin in recent times.

Very impressed with this medical centre. Bright, modern, spacious building, very clean and well maintained. Very good range of consultants. Lots of parking (not free though) and several electrical car charge points. Just 2 minutes off the motorway.

I recently had surgery and was extremely disappointed with most aspects of my experience. My Consultant was absolutely excellent but the nursing care or rather, lack of it was appalling. I am a nurse and I would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone. It's just about making money, people don't matter.

I want to share my positive experience I had in Hermitage. The staff is brilliant!! Everyone was extremely nice and caring! A big thank you to Rachel Thompson, Kate from the reception, Patrick Higgins, the nurse Donna, and everyone else that was so nice to me and made the process so much easier. You guys made me feel safe. I hope you all stay well and safe, and keep up the good work. Mireu Simoes

Left a year and a half to get a complicated wisdom tooth removed 'surgically'. Ended up getting it removed by a local dentist for a fraction of the price the hermitage quoted.

Every member of staff we dealt with were incredible. They made my young daughter feel very special when she was here for her surgery. She was taken care of extremely well and the doctor did an amazing job. Thank you very much.

Have to say very very disappointed again with hermitage My sons .appointment was for 10.30 was not see by doctor till 12.35 in emergency room no problem if busy but why book him in at that time if there is a lot of people there already this is my third time using hermitage and every time it’s a big wait also it’s all about the money pushing you to get mri scans and X-rays my son was told he need an mri scan the next day at €350 witch we passed on turns out he did not need and is fine now and €175 for a compression boot which we turned Down got one on Amazon in 2 days for €34 Last year my other son went there with back problem told it was soft tissue problem told needed a mri which he got 2 days later he was taken by ambulance to Connolly hospital with in bad pain in back turns out to be apses in lower back which Hermitage missed after us paying over €500 never again step foot in place On a separate note Dr Dave Foley in the emergency room is probably one of the nicest doctors I have ever dealt with a brilliant guy 15 out of 10 for him

Just terrible. As discussed with my Prof in Beaumont in December, I was having a day procedure, in that morning and home that evening. I was text a 10am arrival and then phoned twice within an hour to tell me it was 6am. No bother. I arrived at 6am, I checked in and went to the ward as directed. The nurse I dealt with told me I'd be in for 2-3 days, she said this was normal practice. I told her I'd clarify with the Prof. I informed her of my adhesive tape allergy, she put a red band on my wrist. Nobody checked it thereafter, I had to stop 3 people from putting tape on me. The phlebotomist took bloods and had perfect opportunity to put in a cannula in preparation for surgery but didn't, no bother. When it came time to go to theatre, a nurse walked myself and another lady down, it was quite uncomfortable having to walk past reception and along a glass corridor, in a gown. I went into an area with cubicles and waited for the anesthesiologist and Prof. The anesthesiologist arrived first, after discussing my history, she suggested pain meds for after surgery, I informed her I had sufficient quantities at home and didn't require anything. She suggested an opioid painkiller which I respectfully refused. When I went into the theatre prep room, the anesthesiologist came in and tried to put a cannula into my left hand, it was extremely painful and after a moment or two of fiddling she withdrew it and went to my right hand, she said I had to hold still, I informed her she'd hurt me, again the same process on my right hand, moving the needle back and forth, I could feel it wasn't comfortable, a mask was put over my mouth and nose before I could tell her. Having spoken to a lady on my ward afterwards, she had the exact same experience with the same anesthesiologist, an unpleasant one. On discharge that afternoon, I was given a script with three painkillers and an antibiotic, one of which was an opioid. I was given dressings and told to go to my GP to have them changed and my clips removed, my GP charges €60 a visit. No chance. I made an appointment in the hermitage dressing clinic to have these things done there. Developed an issue with my wound, returned to the dressing clinic after speaking to a nurse on the phone. Arrived 10 mins before my appointment, after initially speaking to receptionist, who took my details, was sent behind to check-in. 3 ppl chatted behind the desks, while one worked through the ppl waiting. Eventually got called, was asked for €40, when I queried why, I was told it was for the dressing clinic. I refused to pay, having had and paid for my surgery there and was told to go ahead! Discovered when I returned to have my clips out 15days after surgery that my file was no longer "on site". Begs the question of why it's not computerized in a "high tech hospital" and if it wasn't in the hospital where I had my surgery, where was it being stored that it required courier pickup? Having been in the public system for multiple surgeries over the years, I was disappointed with the overall experience in this private hospital and felt the need to make it known.

Surgeon deserves 5 stars but as this is a review of the Clinic, 1 star is too many. Pre op health check was a comedy of errors, although certainly not amusing. In patient stay post op luckily was only 2 days; level of clinical care was appalling. No sanitisation (even during Covid) of all contact surfaces including locker and bed table. No offer of wash never mind a shower; requested water to clean teeth and dirty bowl left on locker for 24 hours. Bed linen would not have been changed nor refreshed at all over the 48hours except a spillage dictated it needed attendance. Never saw a cleaner over the 2 days. Nursing care very poor...seemed to be too busy , although only 2 people in the room, or was it lack of interest that they never engaged unless requested. As already highlighted brilliant surgeon and will follow him to another hospital if I need to avail of his expertise. Never returning to this very unsafe clinic.

The worst service you can get even paying for it. I would not recommend at all this clinic. Came to do my Covid test and they don’t have enough staff so I had to wait for 1 hours until they come back from lunch??? No options available to do the test in the afternoon...! No worth at all the €200 I have to pay for it. Disgrace of place!

Their A&E only have limited service . If some one go with an accident including eye injury , they have a reason to say there is no eye specialist hence they cannot fix you ????. Pathetic their staff in A&E always try to find an excuse to refuse you to visit them .

Excellent hospital highly recommend. Brought my husband in and he was seen within a few minutes, Doctors did an amazing work on his injury even though they were unusually busy. A week later I when to Beaumont with chronic pain and was waiting a hour just to see a nurse ! and the place was like a circus. Walked out in the early hours of the morning and came over to the hermitage, was seen, all tests and scans completed within a few hours or so. Excellent first class service from 5 star Staff, nurses and Doctors Can't recommend enough 5*

I attended the Emergency Department Hermitage Clinic on 14/11/19. Signed in by a friendly and smiling receptionist, and triaged by an equally friendly and professional nurse from the Philippines. Dr David Foley introduced himself to me, and I have to say, I've never met a more thorough and professional gentleman in my lifetime. He examined me with a fine tooth comb, and explained everything to me in layman's terms, and no bull s**t. He even contacted external agencies, in an attempt to get to the root of my illness. And yes he did get me sorted. Dr Foley keep up the good work, you are a credit to your profession, and don't ever loose that lovely homely, down to earth attitude, that you possess. Place was comfortable to stay. But the food is diabolical. You would think in a private hospital they would have that sorted. I got my family to bring food into me.

Just had cataract surgery performed by Dr. W Lee two days ago, what an amazing job he did. I opted for local anaesthetic and it was painless. The following morning it was like someone had switched on the lights in the sky. I can't believe the difference in my sight, I would definitely recommend Dr lee and most definitely the Hermitage, I had a cataract removed from the other eye 5 years ago in a public hospital and there's no comparison, I take this opportunity to thank every member of staff at the Hermitage that I had contact with during my visit, absolutely top class care. I've had reason to visit the a&e a few times and had to stay in the hospital once for a week. I've always found them courteous and helpful. Staff, admin and consultants all very good. A&E can get a little slow at times but it's well worth it. I see some complaints about cost of parking but it's the same as any other hospital. Highly recommend it.

I went for an MRI on Tuesday 24th at 7pm. I was greeted by friendly admin staff and was then handed over to Stephen Burke. He made me feel right at ease, couldn't have asked for a more helpful and kind person. The radiologist on that night was also extremely nice. Overall a very pleasant experience. Well done to all.

1st class medical facility/hospital/ emergency centre. Conveniently located beside Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. Basically a private A&E department, test centre and hospital. Speedy access to consultants, not junior doctors as in public hospitals. Private health insurance a good idea, as certain procedures & tests can be pricey such as MRI or CT Scans. You pay E150 to use the facility for anything even if you have health insurance, but bear in mind you have to pay E100 to attend the depressing, appallingly understaffed and poorly equipped emergency departments in public hospitals if you don't have a Medical Card. No contest between the 2. The Hermitage also has it's own private carpark & is highly recommended. 5 stars.

This is a great hospital. It's always very clean and the staff look like they are proud to work there. They used to have a little shop but it's not there anymore. They have moved all of the books amd magazines and snacks to the Cafe on the first floor. Everything here is extremely clean and staff are always polite. Woukd definitely recommend this place if you have the choice.

Emergency service is something out of the dark ages! There last Sunday, supposed to open at 10am…didn’t it was 10.30am, very sick people waiting. GDPR regulations broken left, right and centre. Pathetic doctor, no radiographer (had to be called in if requested), this will take over 1 hour! Wasted 3 hours for nothing. Will never go here again! Went to VHI clinic in Dundrum in and out in 50mins with X-ray, fabulous service.

State of the art consulting rooms. Nice restaurant on site which is important given that it is a distance to the next nearest eatery. Thre is also a lovely oratory on site. Paid parkjng only for both patients and visitors which is quite expensive and unfair given thst there sre no free parking / on street parking options nearby

Whilst my procedure was successful I found the pre and post op care lacking. You are effectively abandoned when you arrive until someone comes to get you. Post op I felt like I was a burden to the nursing staff they were quite scarce.
