What a wonderful treat, these photos, priceless memories, baby taking her nap in our hammock relaxing in sight from our tent. Super hosts, very charming, great location by a great wild swimming spot. A bit pricey, toilets are not everyone's cup of tea.

Love, love, loved this place! The guys who run it are super friendly. Best thing was the showers! So clean! They were outside under trees, felt like being abroad. They were super warm too!! They Bring round fires and wood etc every evening at really good prices rates. Spaced everyone out due to Corona. We were a group of friends with kids and dogs and it was brilliant. Great walks and there's a river running through which you can swim in.

Fantastic campsite, will definitely be back. Large spacious fields surrounded by trees. Good toilet and showers. Excellent pricing. Owner very friendly. Was good for a large group of us. There appeared to be a number of different fields for groups / smaller parties, so I'm sure if you want to make a noise you can, but equally if you want it more quiet you can find a field for that.

Great campsite. Proper toilets, outdoor showers, fires, river, ropeswings and more. Borders National Trust Sheffield Park and is opposite the Sheffield Park steam train. Family field, adult only field and a group field. Well run and good value.

Great campsite, back to basics which is what camping should be all about. Perfect location by the river, plenty of walks available and Neil is always around if you need anything. Great value for money. Already booked up for a return visit.

Nice campsite, natural and nice loos and showers - laid back and relaxed, nice river to cool off in and close to Sheffield Park for walks - didn't allow it to be too crowded which was best part... Alan H

Perfect for a simple, clean & happy camping weekend with or without kids. The river is great for the kids to splash and play in. The toilets are clean and fine and showers are al fresco style and hot. The owners are extremely accommodating and helpful. You can also order in pizza and other takeaway if you don't want to cook, but campfires and bbqs are allowed. As a group we had a brilliant time, and also really near Sheffield park National Trust for a lovely walk. Highly recommended.

2nd visit to this site. For me it's just perfect! It's a beautiful site surrounded by beautiful and countryside. The guy who runs it is really friendly and helpful. It's a basic campsite with good clean toilets and hot showers. The kids can play with the swingball or badminton net set up in the middle or they can make dens in the wood or splash in the stream????

Amazing place to camp and the site itself has high quality facilities with lots of sport and activities available, we had a great time even though it was raining and windy!

This is a beautiful quiet basic campsite with a river for swimming and separate areas for families and non-families. The facilities are basic (just taps for water, one shower and portaloos) but that’s all you need and they were clean! Fires allowed also and lots of places to visit within walking distance. We’ll be back (with a better map next time).

A nice campsite but I encountered some rudeness and lack of understanding from staff, which was a shame as it spoiled the atmosphere of the evening somewhat. Thought £5 for the dog was a bit steep too.

(ONLY OPEN JULY - AUGUST) Just a quick walk from the bluebell railway this is a great spot for family camps due to its beautiful countryside. We even found ourselves on the rope swing ourselves for a very long time! The manager is very nice and is usually hovering about on site either on his mower or chopping wood. I think that to improve the site he should add some form of permanent toilets (there are only portaloos) and get some form of showers into the site and maybe electrical hookups. Other than that, It's a great site!

Kick it back old school with a rope swing and a river. Kids loved it a d there's hardly any signal so it's peaceful if your phone's always going off... That being said at night there's not much for adults to do after kids are asleep but pitches are nice and flat and the ground was soft. The vintage rail station just opposite is also really great for kids.

Great back to basics site. Open air showers, open fires and lots of space. The only thing is that the toilet facilities need improving and making bigger, but this was a very busy weekend

Really nice campsite, go for a nice walk in the river or to Sheffield park. The campsite is very chilled out. We actually prefer it to the other campy nearby

Fantastic little site with basic facilities and spacious showers. You can pitch up anywhere you like as there are no designated pitches. Our small family thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. The close proximity of the Bluebell railway is a great afternoon or day out and a handy thing to do on a rainy day. Newick village is easily reached with a walk along the wooded footpath at the bottom of the field.

This is a lovely, no frills campsite based in a nice area. Lots of space, fun rope swings and hammocks and friendly staff.

We took our 4 yr old son camping for the first time here. I wanted somewhere with lots of nature, where we could build a campfire- proper traditional camping. Well, he loved it! From foraging in the woods for sticks to cook marshmallows on the camp fire; hearing the owls and other birdsong; to swinging in the hammocks and rope swings. There's lots of space for children to play and run around. Facilities are basic but clean with everything you need. We will be back again.

Nice relaxed campsite that encourages and open bonfire at every pitch. Toilets and shower are basic but clean. Just over the road from Sheffield Park Bluebell railway station. You can hear the steam trains.

Nicely situated. Like sooooo Many campsites though, it needs to be better maintained and renewed EVERY year. For the price it’s VERY expensive. Down the road at the rival campsite you get a shop, a take-away and staff. Here you get a guy in a tent at the entrance. But if you’re lucky with the neighbours (ours thought it was ok to speak at normal volume at 7am(!!)) it is a tranquil spot with lots to do around. And - for sure an AWESOME outside shower! (But 1 for a whole campsite!? Only in Britain would this be accepted !)

Relaxed campsite with plenty of room for BBQs, campfires and field games. There are badminton nets and swingball sets around the site which can be readily used by anyone. The site is in a beautiful location right next to the Bluebell Railway and National Trust Sheffield Park, with a river running through the middle. There's a nice walk from there to the nearby village of Newick. The owner Neil is very friendly and helpful, and sells reasonably priced wood for the campfire! NB I found the facilities absolutely adequate but if you want luxury, there are always hotels! For everyone else, would recommend very highly.
