Really wonderful woodland campsite with nice facilities. A great rope swing and play area that kept the kids occupied, gorgeous bluebell wood close by and a short car ride from the sea with a lovely - perhaps one of my favourite ever (pebbly) beach walk! The owners were thoughtful and kind but never intrusive. We highly recommend it.

This has got to be one of the best family woodland camping in the county. Excellent facilities and extremely spacious. You really do have a choice of locations either it be deep in the woods or something with more of a clearing or open ground. The site never runs at full capacity so you will have ample choice on arrival but I will say get in early if you can as you'll be needing the use of the sites wheelbarrows to get your get to your chosen plot and sometimes you'll be waiting for them as they get kept by other campers which they are not supposed to do! Had a great time with my kids and a friend with his, fantastic place will be back without a doubt ???? Lucky for us the weekend we stayed they had a mobile food wagon plus a mobile bar, a cider tent and a family fun circus in the Saturday night so always check in advance could save you some hassle. Breakfast also available on site. Dog friendly. 6 stars!!!!! ..... And a secret pond deep in the woods

This is a wonderful family friendly campsite. It's in beautiful woodland and there is a great children's play area. It feels like a safe and welcoming place where kids can run free. The owners are super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it! :-)

Fantastic Campsite! We will be back!! Facilities are great, Campsite feels spacious yet has a nice sense of community atmosphere. The kids loved the rope swing and slide and there are great walks nearby through the lanes, oh and there is the Fox Inn pub right at the end of the road! Staff here are friendly, helpful and accomodating.

Quite simply, brilliant family camping in the woods. Huge pitches, great woods for the kids to explore, fire pits and a very calm feel to the whole site. It's off-grid with compost loos and brilliant showers. There are lots of fire pits and the owners sell logs onsite. It's one of our two favourite sites. And if all that isn't quite enough, it's topped off with the fantastic Fox Pub just up the road.

Absolutely fantastic campsite. Facilities were everything you need and plenty comfortable. Lots of space for each pitch, we couldn’t see anybody when looking out the front door or back window. Felt very secluded in the forest. The pitch came with its own fire pit which we enjoyed on the last night. Owners were incredibly friendly and helpful and provide a real personal community feel. Beautiful local area, a superb pub at the top of the hill next door and great mountain biking trails all in the area. Top trip ????

What a great campsite! Owners couldn't be more lovely or helpful. Freezer full of ice creams to keep the kids and grown ups cool. Washing up, hot showers and compost toilets, lovely and clean. Own fire pit and nice big tent pitches. Really friendly atmosphere and great for families to relax. My boys loved the slide and rope swing. Thanks for a great stay, will be back soon!

We were a group of families, couples and singles and Foxwood literally catered for all of us. Beautifully situated, safe, clean and tidy. There was Kids circus entertainment and a mini disco in the afternoon whilst we were there which every age enjoyed and amazing local cider stall!! All run by incredibly friendly people that were on hand at all times should we need anything. We will definitely be back!! X

Just spent the weekend with kids and husband here. The best thing about this campsite is its family friendly atmosphere and every group has decent spaces for themselves, even it’s quite busy we didn’t feel crowded. I also loved the campfires. Well maintained and clean facilities. The owners are friendly and helpful. We had a great time.

with its easy-going and laid back atmosphere this is a nice natural site to chill out. pitches are a generous size, you have your own fire pit, friendly staff, no rules to speak of! we chose the wooded side on the left, we moght try the more open greener side next time. kids safe, ideal, especially if you find like-minded fellow campers. facilities basic but adequate, one star off for very distant road noise.

One of the better UK campsites. There are three main areas to the campground: 1) Under some trees with a decent coverage and dry leaf ground, 2) a more grassy area with less trees and 3) a deeper area that is a lot more foresty. Cars cannot go into the campsites but they have free wheel barrels that you can use to haul your material to your tents. There is a decent area to wash your dishes and there are two family showers along with 5 single showers and decent bathrooms that the staff keep very clean. Around the area there are many things to do within a half hour drive. The kids will love it and the adults can have a nice relaxing time as well.

A fantastic camp site. Family friendly and friendly family run! Unique eco conscious site. Great sized pitches and bonus of being able to have safe, real fire that can easily be used to cook on also. We loved our visit and will definitely be back again .

Great Campsite with no caravans! The camping is located in a wooded area, and it has two main areas, one completely covered by trees, and the other one partly covered. It is very calm and pretty. Fires are allowed and dogs are welcome. Nearby there is a very big woodland area for waking or bike riding. The camping owners are very friendly and helpful, and are present through the whole day. Facilities: It has hot water showers, toilets, drinking tap water, and the ability to buy wood and other things from the camping owners. It is off grid, but autonomous, so hot showers run from 8am to 11am and 5pm to 10pm. Also nearby there are two very nice pubs (go to "The World's End") with great food. The camping is great for families. The price?: Just £35 for a pitch, two persons and a car, and you get to use all the amenities. I will definitely go again. Ahhh... And if you go, don't forget to swing on the giant rope swing !

We're just back from a 3 night stay with our young family. We loved this campsite - the woodland setting is beautiful and it felt fun and safe for the kids to explore. Pitches are spacious and it's fun looking where to pitch up. The fire pits are a brilliant idea and we found the facilities good too. It felt a privilege to stay here!

Fox Wood is perfect if you want to experience off grid camping and have an adventure with the children, ( our age range was from 4 yrs - 10 yrs) we took our grandchildren and one of their friends for five days , they totally loved it, especially the eldest who managed to get half the kids in the camp to have football matches, it's a safe environment for the kids to go off and do their own thing, as they were always in sight, the rope swing was definitely a favorite with the kids, not once did the kids mention laptops , tablets or phones, they made their own fun. The facilities were excellent, and the management were very helpful and friendly, will be back in the future. Personally we think it should be open longer than sixty days, maybe open in autumn would be nice to experience the different season with the different wild life and the changes in the to the forest compared to summer, once again thank you very much for a wonderful week. Foxwood is an awesome camp site. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, the facilities are clean and the site is clean and well located for beach trips or forest walks. This was our second visit to the site and we will definitely be returning and recommending to others. Great family and dog friendly camp site.

Back from a wonderful stay at Fox Wood Camping. Facilities were clean, staff were lovely and the woods were wonderful. It's also a great location to set off on activities each day and the owners are particularly great at making recommendations for day trips! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Looking forward to the next!

Just had our second stay here, it really is an excellent campsite. Spacious pitches with a great fire pit. I love the fact that cars are in one area so it's perfectly safe for younger children to run around the site. We will be back again.

Excellent campsite - a much more wild experience than most with no designated pitches and a nice forested area with private feeling spots to camp. Friendly staff and fairly reasonable price. Worth noting you'll need to cart your camping gear with wheelbarrows. To improve: Car park was a bit hectic, simple markers would get people parking sensibly. No hose for spraying down muddy bikes (despite loads of people there with bikes), and a horrid smell of a toilet which we couldn't work out where it was from - perhaps a campers own chemical toilet. This is why we give it 4 stars, and unfortunately you can hear the very busy road at all times of the day which is nearby but nothing they can do about that of course just unfortunate as it does semi-spoil the lovely 'wild' atmosphere.

It is an amazing place. Great toilets and shower facilities, friendly people, enough space not to be in other people space. It is very family orientated. Never seen so many well behaved kids in one place. But should mention, that is you are a loud, love drink and party all night , this place not for you. As after 9pm majority is going on to sleep mode. Caanot recommend this place enough !!!

Two sides to this campsite. Pros - forest aspect great and you can have open fires, friendly owners in general. Clean and well kept for off grid toilets and shower facilities. Wheelbarrows good idea. Lovely sized pitches, well marked out with campfire areas. Helpful info for take away and purchase of firewood easy. Cons - a little expensive for what it is (probably the most expensive site we have ever stayed at, all be it was bank holiday weekend) it's off grid so you have to be able to stomach a non flush toilet. We had our parents come to meet us at the site twice and had a fairly unpleasant experience with owners who wanted to charge them, they were only with us 20/30 minutes each time and did not use any facilities....... Not a great experience, never had to pay for visitors just popping in before!!!! Many people bought two cars per family which did not help congestion in car park and I bet they weren't charged extra!!!! Shame as it left a bad taste after such a pleasant stay otherwise

We loved it. Sadly due to covid the evening entertainment wasn't on but we still enjoyed ourselves. Dropped a star for the expense. At £50 per night it's much dearer than other campsites. Although the experience is different we didn't feel it was enough to justify the price. It's a shame because we'd love to keep coming back, but the price means our next trip will be to a different site.

We're just back from our second stay at Foxwood, really great campsite! It's quiet and family friendly, we weren't kept up late or woken up too early by noisy campers. The facilities are kept clean throughout the day - I have to admit that I was fearful of the composting toilets but they were totally fine. Also enjoyed that the cars could only go through the main parking bit, leaving the rest of the site quieter and safe for children to run around. The rope swing is an endless source of fun for the younger ones! Plenty of things to do near the area, we enjoyed a trip to West Wittering beach the first time we went, Arundel Castle and Chichester are nearby too and the South Downs offer plenty of great walks with stunning views. I disagree with the reviews saying that it's too expensive as it's a totally fair price for a clean campsite with plenty of space between pitches, we could barely hear any noise from other campers in the evenings as we sat by the fire.

This is the second visit to Fox Wood camping and we have had an amazing time again! So will definitely be heading back! It has a brilliant set up leaving the cars away from the tents but they’ve provided wheelbarrows to help unload! Each area has its own fire pit and plenty of room around it for your tents! It provides a safe place for the children to go off and explore with a playground and rope swing to keep them entertained! We bring our dogs who also enjoy it. The shower block and toilet blocks are clean and eco friendly! It was well set up to support covid 19 restrictions. The owners are super helpful and friendly. Whilst there we visited the beach for the day and two pubs close by and lots of fun things to do in the area! We will definitely be back!

No hot water for washing cooking utensils this am and constant pervading smell of human sewage around our campsite made eating rather naesous. Have tried contacting you to no avail. Not happy with price paid for facilities provided. A response is expected.

Just back from a weekend at Foxwood. Lovely, happy, chilled out family campsite. The rope swing is brilliant for kids to make friends and hang out for hours! Location is great for walks and beaches and the owners are really helpful when giving recommendations of where to go and how to get there. The pitches are big and not too close to each other and the off-grid toilets are kept clean (although face masks are good for more than just covid protection here!) Bring a bbq or just a grill rack for the fire pit and you'll be sorted!

Just returned from a wonderful few days at Fox Wood campsite. Would highly recommend. The owners were really friendly and helpful, the facilities are kept clean and well maintained, pitches were a great size around the campfires and even on Saturday night which was obviously busy, it didn’t feel crowded. Just a brilliant, chilled out atmosphere which was perfect for our first family camping experience. The kids didn’t want to leave and neither did we!! We will definitely be back :)
