Sadly VCS the parking controller appointed by BP/Harvest Energy don’t seem to be able to distinguish between offenders and legitimate customers. Even sadder East Midlands Airport and BP don’t seem to be able to control it. signs like 'NO STOPPING ! at a public petrol station! are so confusing. The ‘British Parking Assoc.’ Code of Practice, for obvious reasons does not allow targets/Incentive for enforcers at all. It’s worth noting that VCS are no longer members of the elite ‘BPA’, but to comply with Gov regulations and the ‘Accredited Trade Assoc.’ and hence qualify for the AOS (Approved Operator Scheme) status, which in turn allows them access to the DVLA data base for collecting keeper names and addresses. So they joined the IPC, (Independent Parking Community). Guess what….IPC operate a favourable ‘Code of Practice’ that VCS pledge to honour and at the same time benefit in several ways. A couple of examples…..The IPC allow Private Parking Companies to operate a bonus scheme, and do not discourage incentive payments for their enforcers for issuing more PCNs. Anyone wonder why they ticket everyone, their dog and even Airport staff ? BPA CODE OF PRACTICE Effective from 2 January 2018, 9.4 The practice of offering financial incentives relating to the quantity of parking charge notices in new and existing employee contracts is prohibited. 9.5 You must not use predatory or misleading tactics to lure drivers into incurring parking charges. Such instances will be viewed as a serious and sanctionable instance of non-compliance and may go to the Professional Conduct Panel.

To echo all of these reviews. Absolute joke of a place. Nowhere else to park so parked along the side, not obstructing anything, nipped in to buy a coffee and got a fine!! Bad enough getting the fine but when I actually bought stuff from the shop too. Absolute con artists.

Customer service disgusting. This guy that was there on 16:00 21/03/2021 was complete a-hole. I work at airport but I will not attend this station and I will not give business to people that do not deserve it.

Literally that's the worst petrol station on the planet! They hunt drivers to fine them with tickets! Don't use them as you'll be fined! It's a joke! It's a cash machine on unaware drivers!

Avoid at all costs. Got a £100 fine for filling up the car. I will no longer be shopping at BP. The company dishing out the fines rejects all appeals out of hand and makes it as hard as possible to appeal. Their portal does not allow for direct contact negating any thread of the conversation. If you dare to use the independent body to appeal, your fine will increase from £60 to £100, every tactic possible to prevent appeals. They use all nasty tactics available to them, including threats of debt collection in their very first response to bully people into paying. Nothing you say will make a difference. To state what should be the blindingly obvious BP. These are your customers and they spend way more than the pittance this company pays you. If you doubt the reviews simply google the local news articles, people are winning their appeals so stick with it. Way to disgruntle loyal customers BP with your honey pot trap, a car park disguised as a petrol station forecourt. Make sure you read all of the small print before you enter any BP garage. Boycott BP!

Absolute joke! I pulled up at the fuel pump and nothing happened, thought it maybe a dodgy pump so tried another with no success! I then went into the garage to complain and couldn't find anyone! Good thing I'm not a thief!!!

Stopped at this garage to fill up car with fuel as I noticed the pumps were free. My mother-in-law said that rather than wait in the car and drive to the drop-off, she'd get out and walk. I finished filling up at pump, went in to pay and left. Three weeks later: £100.00 fine! What?! Disgusting. My only local petrol station is a BP. Out of principle I will NEVER buy fuel from BP again. I'll drive to the next village. Is this the world we live in now? I feel violated. RIP-off Britain.

Disgusting service. Beware i got a £100 fine for stopping for 30 seconds. They claim to stop people picking up from the airport but I literally stopped to check my map and drove straight off without opening my door. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. I have since contacted BP customer service who did not even bother to reply.

I received a parking ticket for £100 for stopping for 23 seconds!! My sister had called to say my 6 year old niece was taken poorly while on holiday and needed to get home asap, They managed to get a flight home early and would need picking up. It was 1.30 in the morning. I've never been to this airport before and with not being a confident driver I was completely lost and very distressed I pulled into this garage for 23 seconds while I jumped out to speak to the camera man he provided me with directions and then took my picture of my car. Absolutely disgusting! I will never use any BP garage now out of principle.

I also got charged for stopping at the petrol station, not dropping people off or picking them up- just stopping for 40 seconds to avoid stopping on double red line on the adjacent roads. I won't be entering this station ever again and will be more careful with BP in general as I read that they give 'fines' to customers at some of the other stations too :(

My son has received a fine also. While it is true i met him there after arriving home from France, I did so because he was refueling. Having purchased £20 of fuel to find we have then been photographed (omitting my son actually using the pump incidentally) and fined is so annoying. Has the world gone completely mad? Absolute robbery.....

And it continues, bought fuel and still been fined. My loyalty to BP now in question. I pay about £1500 per year to BP for fuel and they are going lose that for a £60 fine when o actually bought petrol. Ryanair are questionable BUT BP SCANDALOUS TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS.

Avoid at all cost. I have got PCN for buying 50 litres fuel and coffee at 1am, because I let my wife and kid jump in the car while refueling rather than driving to the airport drop off and wasting more time on a school night. I've been using BP only for the last 3 cars, it is time to switch to Shell. Also avoid the BP at services nearby. For the first time, not empty and without overfilling, I managed to buy 4 litres fuel more than the fuel tank capacity!

Everyone who will be reading this please avoid this petrol station at all costs!!!!!. Unless you want to get fined £100 then be my guest my using this scam of a petrol station. If you are filling up your car with petrol you will get fined as this has happened to me. I am not the only that's been fined please read all the other reviews left by people . Even if you are stationary with your car in any of the filling bays or just opposite the bays for 50-60 seconds you will get fined £100 Daylight robbery and nothing is getting done about it

Absolutely disgraceful. Put fuel in my car and at the same time my mother in law and young son walked across from the terminal and entered my car whilst I was in side paying and now I’m being charged £100 for a parking/stopping violation? That can’t be right?

Received Parking Fine for stopping at the petrol station. Absolutely appalled by this abuse of power and Vehicle Control Services being in contravention of GDPR. I will never buy anything from BP again and I will advise all of my family and friends to do the same. Thats a lot of customers to loose BP!! You obviously do not care what your customers think.

AVOID at all costs. Son fined £100 for dropping off his mate, took about 30 seconds, didn’t know about the charges and didn’t see the signs. Charge is disproportionate to the ‘crime’, ridiculous. Surely, a warning should be given first if the required effect is to stop drop off’s. I suspect just another money making opportunity. I will certainly be avoiding BP filling stations from now on.

Feeling pretty disgusted right now, just been charged £100 for stopping on a BP forecourt for 57 seconds to collect my elderly grandparents! Not what I would expect from a company I have bought my fuel off for 30 plus years. Do you really encourage scam cameras to operate on your forecourts ??? Edit: contacted customer service email August, still awaiting a reply.

Avoid this petrol station! Like many other customers, I bought a full tank of petrol and received a parking charge notification a few weeks later. I appealed the charge including a print screen of the payment from my bank statement, but they have rejected the appeal. I understand that they want to prevent people using their forecourt as a pickup zone, but to persist in prosecuting PAYING CUSTOMERS is just awful.

People getting parking fines inside the BP should know that a lady has won the appeal for the 60 pound fine(it's on Daily mail) cause the BP station is separate grounds to the airport and roads.

I highly recommend that you avoid this petrol station; unless you’re happy to pay and extra £100 or £200 for fuel! My husband stopped here on the way to the airport to get fuel, whilst he was on his way there I called him as I am heavily pregnant and was in pain and panicking so he stopped at the side of the station to calm me down before heading over to fill up. He was on the phone to me for less than 5 minutes but yet he has received 2 parking tickets of £100 each, and one of them, you can clearly see if the photos that he was filling his car with petrol! This is an absolutely ridiculous way of scamming people out of money! There is no signs to say “filling up her costs an extra £100” which I’m sure by law, if you’re going to fine someone for filling up, you should have these signs up!

Driving up the M1 to join A50 at junction 24 north, was directed by signs to come off at 23a instead. Duly did so to find myself on a bewildering system of roadways with no A50 signs and led onto a RED ROUTE with No stopping, which I understand fully (I am an Institute of Advanced Motorists driver) so did NOT stop but saw a BP fuel station off the road and together with my wife in her car following, pulled onto the forecourt to ask or ascertain how to get off this Red Route and back to the A50 direction. My wife remained in her car with engine running and foot on footbrake. I consulted her through the open window for less than 30 seconds and saw a camera car drive past slowly, when I remarked that I'm glad we didn't stop on the roadway! Set off again and I still don't know how, found the A50 route. Two weeks later, £100 fine, for my car then ditto £100 fine for wife's. £200 for being in the petrol station forecourt for barely a minute?? WTF? If you're reading this it is probably too late for you but I will never fill up at BP again (and I'd recently switched allegiance from Shell, so that's x3 cars we run that you've lost sales forever BP). I will be 'contesting ' this outrageous SCAM. Tom A.

AVOID THIS PETROL STATION AT ALL COSTS. Use the services just down the road at Donnington instead. I too received a £100.00 for refueling here. The charge 'Stopping in a Zone where stopping is Prohibited' just like all the other countless folk who have received them. The BP staff try to blame EMA but the truth is that it's BP who are also employing Excel Parking Services. Google them, they are a company well known for levying unfair and random parking charges followed by harassment and bullying. Hopefully one day legislation will close down these modern day highwaymen. Once you receive a parking charge you are guilty until proven innocent and it's up to you to cope with the stress of dealing with it. BP couldn't give a toss so don't bother complaining to them

a few days ago I stopped at this station to refuel and buy something to eat but before doing so I parked in the special spaces reserved for customers as I had my parents departing and we moved away a few meters for security reasons because I wanted smoking a cigarette while saying goodbye to my parents. After five minutes I went back inside the gas station and I saw a blond girl with long hair screaming at me threateningly in front of other customers who would have been fined for having parked the car.I asked to stay calm and that you should not allow to raise your voice with me. The girl kept screaming ... I was accused that I could be a terrorist and that she would call the police and have me arrested everything this in front of other customers. I contacted the general office that runs this station and after telling the facts I received the apologies but having also seen the other reviews that speak of similar attitudes on the part of this blonde girl, I think she should be fired immediately. from the behavior I saw, I advise this person to be followed by some good specialist or psychologist.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Disgusting that I have just got a Parking ticket for parking in one of the bays. "Stopping in a Zone where stopping is prohibited"? I was told that you can't fill up your car with the engine on, let alone whilst not stopping.

AVOID using this petrol station. Unfortunately like many others I have had very bad experience with this rude blonde women. By the way I think she is mentally unbalanced. I pop round to pick my dad as his plane landed and he, as it later come out, unfortunately waited for me outside this BP station. When I arrived and stopped behind other refuelling car I decided to pop to the shop and buy bottle of water and use the toilet. As soon as this women saw what I was doing she run to my car and started shouting and verbally attacking my dad as he was trying to get in the car. I asked is she normal. As she was acting like she's crazy. I then asked who she is. She didn't want to say. She said I will get a fine if my dad enters my car. I replayed are you crazy? She siad that I can't pick up my dad as I will get fined. She was runing around the station and kept shouting on other drivers like she would be mad. BP if it was your employee I would act fast before that person harm someone. Anyway we both feal we have been verbally assoulted by the person on your petrol station. Shame on you BP for allowing situation like this happing on your premises. You should act now and stop this insanely acting women. It's disgraceful. AVOID THIS PETROL STATION!

Customer service is a joke !!! My kids in car was noisy and my daughter took a seat belt off so I stopped my car and tried to resolve this problem with her.... Then suddenly blond hair women came and screaming to me that I will be fined. She was very ordinary and screaming a lot. My kids then cried much more than before!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will put an official complaint for the head office as it was really not helpful and put me on the stress!!!!!!
