Studio LW Furniture Making

Japanese bench making course was terrific use of a weekend, and not a screen or pint in sight! Proper hands on and I'm very pleased with the result - it's a useful output for sure. I had no experience of woodwork since school and this was a good way to get back to it while making something useful - although all-in it's a wee bit pricey considering the instruction you actually get for your money. Having said that, it's enough to make you think you can probably do a lot by self-teaching and while it could be cheaper it's still great value compared to many other ways to sink a few hundred pounds!

I did the Letter tray 8 week course and it was brilliant. Matthew was a great teacher. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoyed it. Only thing was that due to missing a week it was not enough time to finish it and had to do the final touches at home. (if it wasn't for their move to new location we could have joined another course to make up the time i think). Definitely would recommend.

I surprised myself by making a beautiful letter tray. Emma is such a great teacher, really relaxed atmosphere, helpful and attentive. I'd never done woodwork before and she made everything easy to understand and inspired confidence. Brilliant.

I am massively proud to say that I was at one time Emma's, Rhiannon's and Matthew's teacher and can personally vouch for their work having been among the very finest the UK has to offer. These were award-winning students who have gone from strength to strength since, and this is as it should be. Get on it while you still can !

I recently completed one of Studio LW's furniture making courses with Emma. Emma is an inspiring teacher and going to the class was the highlight of my week (and I wasn't the only person on the course to say that!) She was really brilliant at sharing her knowledge and experience to help guide us all through the tricky process of hand-making furniture, and thanks to her we all managed to make something we were all proud of taking home to show the family! Really lovely space to learn in, and both Emma and Rhiannon are great people to learn from. Highly recommended.

I am delighted with my handcrafted timber chair. Emma and Rhiannon at Studio LW understood my brief and created a beautiful chair beyond any expectation. They were great to work with and I can highly recommend Studio LW onto anyone wanting a unique and handcrafted commission.
