today i phoned them around 4 pm to ask about extras, to apply and the phone was ringing and kept ringing, which is very strange for a university. i could tell they were purposely ignoring my call, because they were closing less than an hour. so i rang them again, because my college needed me to ask them a question urgently, however they also ignored my second call. i didn't give up, so i called them the third time and she picked up on the first ring, as if she was sitting next to the phone the entire time. as a busy student, i was indeed fuming. she transferred me to the science department, where i was left on hold for more than one hour. at this point, is this university really worth it?

Comprehensive eye test arranged through work. Great training facility and helpful/knowledgeable staff.

As an international student, the entry requirements do not make any sense. I had a conversation with two of their admission officers with no results, both being rude and unhelpful (one of the them actually hang up on me while I was still talking). They have no understanding of international qualifications and they do not seem to be open to feedback. I am extremely disappointed and I do not recommend anyone to apply to this university. I cannot believe I wasted one of my UCAS choices for one of their courses.

Excellent staff and modern facilities. Course (MA GPE) structure is well planned with up-to-date content.

This university is horrendous wallahi, the administration department will not respond to your emails. The lecturers barely speak English, everything about the university is very slow. All in all I will say the people who run the university are abusive. If you go there, you will be paying 9k and get the bare minimum. Avoid if you can at all costs.

I want people to know that this place is terrible for education, most of the lecturers are just bad, there is no communication. For PPE students they don't take into account that they work. If any help is needed it will not be given. I have been told lies many times. They told me i passed, a month later they said I actually failed and that the test will be in 2 weeks. DO NOT GO HERE

(English BA) Really helpful and friendly staff that made learning a pleasure. The modules were interesting and varied, so lectures were always engaging. Wish there were more options in regards to communal areas, but overall a really great place to study with a wide range of courses.

I was a student at this University studying Computer Science, I can tell you now it is not worth your time. The lecturers are no help if they are even in. I have complained many of times which has done nothing. DO NOT GO WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

Lie, lie, lie!I I paid double tuition fee than the int. fee amount because my indian representative of this uni convinced me that if I choose placement option, I would get direct job after graduation in finance. After graduation, when I asked them for job, they apologized and said that it's not possible due to over competition in market. But where is my money? they lied to me and many others. Don't blv their placement, it's a complete trap.

Excellent lecturers and support. The Northhampton Square library is perfect with loads of excellent study spaces. Most of the facilities are modern and up to date although some of the lecture halls are old,but thats all part of the university being proud of its long history... A great place to study!

!!PLEASE AVOID IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION!! I CANNOT SPEAK FOR ALL COURSES/DEPARTMENTS BUT THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT IS TERRIBLE AND IS EVIDENT IN THE RANKINGS. REASONS FOR MY STATEMENT: 1. ENGINEERING FACILITIES ARE AWFUL 2. ACADEMIC SUPPORT IS BAD/ NON-EXISTENT 3. ABSOLUTELY ZERO SOCIAL LIFE 4. BUILDINGS ARE TOO COMPACT, GETS BUSY TOO SOON, BARELY ENOUGH COMPUTERS FOR SO MANY STUDENTS. 5. COURSE (ENGINEERING) MODULES ARE DISASTROUS. 6. LECTURES/TUTORIALS ARE NOT ENGAGING WHAT SO EVER 7. CAMPUS IS REALLY BAD. THE TEACHING EXCELLENCE FRAMEWORK IS SILVER AND NOT GOLD AND LOOK AT THE RANKINGS AS WELL PLEASE. PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR OTHER UNIVERSITY OPTIONS.

My PG course taught me so much. I am now getting interviews that I needed. After all, that's what university is for (for most of us) Ignore the 1 star ratings based on some personal issues. Overall the uni do really want you to be employed after uni....but remember that's on you too. This is a University not school

Although I study at Queen Mary, I prefer to do group revisions here. The campus is clean and situated in a very safe and isolated area, with ample amount of seating available for group and independent study. Fortunately, University of London students can use the libraries associated with those universities, which makes it extremely convenient and reliable.

City University is a fantastic University with special opportunities for the students lucky enough to study here. City is very unique it's has a combination of extremely welcoming staff and students whilst also being coupled with the world leading researchers and students. World class facilities and amazing place. Highly recommended.

I am studying music at City University, which is definitely the right place for me to study. The staff are incredibly helpful and caring, and I've met loads of amazing people on my course. The facilities here are incredible as well. Loving my time here!

Some staff who are responsible for student services are really unsupportive. Issues take centuries to be solved. I’m sure not all the staff are like that but many people had the same exact experience.

I came here to visit eatcity with TooGoodToGo (an app) and got some good food at decent prices. I got a margherita pizza, potato wedges and still water as a meal deal (it's usually £5). The eating area wasn't as busy as I'd thought, although I went in at 14.40, I assume the peak time had passed.

Useful short course. Although a bit expensive given the facilities. It gets very loud during classes due to undergrads.

Currently doing the computer science course and I must say it has failed to live up to my expectations. Most of the lecturers simply talk from the slides and there is little to no value in coming into lesson, although admittedly they have tried to address this by doing mini quizzes which count 1% each towards your final exam grade. I can't speak for everyone here but the building to is dated and not in a good way and there is a distinct lack of social activities going on in the university. Although some might say that's a good thing as the university has strong links to big companies in their professional pathway scheme with good internships available. They also have lessons which teach you methods to improve your CVs and job interview technique. The lectures in some of the models, particularly systems architecture are taught acceptably too. However other modules such as java are not. In java you are told one concept and then told to complete an exercise using that concept along with all the concepts you have been taught along the way. It's hard and very intimidating for someone who has never programed before to do. They do however have revision classes and video tutorials explaining the exercises so take that into account. So by in large this university is pretty average to say the least with only the professional pathway really standing out. I would recommend avoiding this university if you have an offer from a better university available.

I absolutely love this university so far. I am doing a post-grad in nursing and the lecturers are absolutely brilliant. Very knowledgeable, current, supportive, kind and above all interested in their students. All emails are responded on time, lecturers actually bother to discuss things with you and they listen to you which I think is fundamental! Of course, I can only speak for my course and faculty but I would have no hesitation to recommend my course to anyone.

A broad diversified field of knowledge was provided by professors and papers! I did International Politics and specified in "Global Political Economy" and got an amazing knowledge out of it and understanding about what is going on in this world - also in global politics, geopolitics, history, economics, psychology, sociology... "Stay critical with the world and its actors." Thanks City!

Great Uni and have really enjoyed my Law degree here. It's not as supportive as other Universities, however this means you have to just get on with it in some situations but this allows you to grow up and get serious about you studies. The Law Schools admin team is absolutely fantastic and the lecturers are always available to answer any questions and support you if you have issues. Some or the lecturers are as high as they can get academically which assists in you being as up to date as possible. Came to City through clearing and really think I was very lucky being given a place here.

CUL's main campus building is a cozy yet elaborate structure. The Journalism department is one of the best, if not the best, around the UK. The cafeteria is not anywhere as great unfortunately, but that's rarely a problem in a city like London. Keep in mind, you won't get access without an ID - which means you must be a student or faculty - so just stop reading thanks.

The worst admissions team to exist across the whole of England. Nobody operating the phones, person on email takes weeks to reply. Tried to send documents over email to admissions team and they told me they had processed it. 4 weeks later, I found out that person hadn't even done anything.

Though the college, like so many others, has now abdicated the responsibility it had, on foundation, to provide vocational training for local people, City University of London has become a centre of excellence in what it does. Local Londoners, however, live in hope of not being forever forgotten!

Clean airy building at the northern face of Northampton square which is best approached on foot or cycle as vehicle access restricted. There's a tevolvrev door that has blue halt stop button for wheel chair users or visitors using sticks. There are pleasant seating booths and study spaces throughout the ground floor but warned from here on in past reception there are many many steps between floors, mezzanines and basements. If you're going to be moving around a lot use the lifts which are so small and discreet you could easily by pass them without realising it. Lecture rooms are comfortable though their are some strange quirky desk and bench arrangements where you can only gain access from one side only. It makes for unnecessary embarassment if you need to leave before the end of a talk.

The university is diverse, eccentric, buzzing, full of adventurous students that I have travelled with, and grown very close to. Only wish they had bigger cafe or leisure place for students who don't like the Bar.
