Bensleys came to do a damp survey on a property I was buying in Hanover in January as I suspected a south facing wall was damp. The report stated no damp and no intervention required. After moving into the property It was very clear there WAS damp in that area so I got them to come back and do another survey 6 months after the first one. They told me it was very damp and I needed to get damp proofing done! I dont know who paid off who here to get that initial fake report but i ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend this company!! When I confronted them about it I was told “it had rained a lot since January”!!! It’s absolute rubbish and I’ve now found a sensible company who tell the truth!

I recently had Bensleys in to damp-proof my flat I have recently purchased and cannot fault them. Being a first time buyer this experience was very daunting, especially realising my flat had a damp issue. I instructed them to carry out an inspection firstly, which was free and I received a very well written report, explaining the issues and how to fix them. Afterwards, I then instructed them to carry out the works, which were carried out to a very high standard! There was very little mess for such a disruptive job and the gentlemen working were very friendly, hardworking and professional. Very glad I found this local company! Thank you all.

Bensleys not only came highly recommended to me through property circles, they are also a local & experienced, specialist Company who know the properties in this area well. Their staff are prompt To respond to calls & emails & are thorough, friendly & helpful. We asked for a full inspection & survey report & quote; the surveyor explained everything thoroughly during the inspection & further produced a report that was both accurate, concise & helpful. We won’t hesitate to recommend them in the future.

Bensleys have now completed several contracts for me, throughout Sussex involving timber treatment and damp proofing. Their surveyors have always been efficient and helpful. I have built up a good relationship with this company as they always go above and beyond. The office staff are always friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend them.B

A professional and courteous service received from the staff at Bensleys. Their expert identified the cause of the damp at our property and provided a detailed report/recommendation. We would certainly use this company again.

Had Damp works completed in a timely manner and there was very little mess, which we were happy with. HOWEVER 2 weeks later we noticed water creating wet marks on the wall that had been treated below the window sill. The window sill was damaged quite bad when they were initially removing the plaster works, we presume by the jackhammer. It has a huge crack running the entire length of the sill now. We are wondering if this is now causing water to leek in and down the wall. We contacted Bensleys immediately to tell them and asked to get someone out to look at their work. There very first response was that it will COST US to have someone come out to look at THEIR work!! After another day,a couple of emails and current photos explaining and showing them the situation they finally agreed to sending someone out the following week later to look at the problem. We were very taken back when met with their initial response that it would cost us money to even LOOK at the problem! They are quick to take your money but the follow up and responsibility seems very much like its on you. Waiting to see what their response is next week. I hope they do the right thing and take ownership of a botched job and rectify it, if that is the issue. We were going to ask them to do our basement as well but we now very wary because of this. What a shame, they seemed very efficient in the beginning to actually get our business, but like a lot of companies its seems, there is little to no follow through or ownership of responsibility. We always paid promptly and looked after the surveyor when he was working. All we ask is that the job is done correctly.

Rude, overpriced and under-delivered. We still have damp in several places. Felt taken advantage of because we said we were selling, so no one cared. New plaster doesn't match the old, so the wall is uneven. Terrible job; use Bensleys at your own risk.

I have had a very positive experience with Bensleys. They have been professional, efficient, clean, tidy and courteous. I would use them again and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

A big thankyou to Bensleys for doing such a great job of damproofing under our stairs a few weeks ago in Jan '19 at our property It was a pleasure to have Bensleys worker in the house, as he worked quietly and considerately every morning for 5 days, and always left the site tidy. He was also very polite and clear about what he was doing and how long the job would take on each day, which was helpful as me & my partner both work from home and so we could plan around it. This is the 3rd job over 15 years we've had done by Bensleys, one in a Brighton flat (tanking a bathroom in basement flat, successful) and the last 2 in Eastbourne, for rising damp, also successful. Surveyor was efficient, and our many follow up questions via email were always responded to quickly and clearly. We felt informed at every stage. Would recommend.

Took time off work to wait in for them to give me an estimate. No-one showed up and nothing was even on their system. I asked them to try to send someone around anyway and they said they'd phone back but didn't. It's cost me a morning's pay. Will go elsewhere.

Make your own mind up, don't ask the boss to come and inspect HIS guys work, he will ask you who will pay for HIS time! This is finished work! You decide!
