Visited on a wet and windy day. Got there at 10:50 and no queues walked straight in. Different story when we came out with long queue. A very warm welcome at the entrance, and time made to chat. Good signage around the cavern, lighting and visual displays added to experience. Maybe a bit dated, but liked the feel and experience. Well organised for Covid with hand sanitiser regularly available. Toilets on site were closed, but we'll aware of this beforehand. A torch might be useful as it is dark in some areas. Our walk around took just over an hour.

Loved this. Underground caves, very dark and a bit cold, a bit scary sometimes, informative. I do recommend to buy a small torch at the entrance, easier to navigate and walk because sometimes, actually really often, you dont see the floor, too dark. So with torch you will know on what terrain you're walking and you'll be aware of every step and uneven surface.

An interesting place to visit; effectively, its a museum built into the old caves and you learn about smugglers. The caves are quite dark, but are lit with coloured lights in places. Our girls (11 and 5) were a bit scared to begin with, but after a while they were excited to move onto the next section to press the button and listen to the voice over tell a story and watch the manikins move. For £36, our family of 4 were entertained for an hour, learnt a bit of history and come away with a souvenir from the shop.

Great experience. I grew up in Sussex and went here a couple of times on primary school trips. Took the opportunity to visit over 20 years later whilst on a random trip to Hastings and found it sustained all the nostalgia and atmosphere I recalled from my childhood days. Mixture of educational, spooky, brooding and romantic. Yes, the wax models and exhibitions are old as flagged on here by several reviews by what I suspect are largely young parents with Gen Z/Alpha kids expecting Pirates of the Carribean Disneyland, though this conveys all the gritty romanticism of the era. Love the voice overs. Great charm and storytelling throughout. Keep it up guys!

Great value for money, had a good laugh with partner and 7 year old daughter. Lasted over an hour. Very cold, take warm top or coat. Bring a torch or you will end up buying one. Don't park right next to the park as you have to pay. It's free up the road.

I lost all of my kids going through here way too BLIMMIN dark to see where the little runts went so I gave up looking and I dont know how to change my Google picture from this CHAV I am disgusted that children aren't marched down on gun point!! Sincerely, Margritt Bartllit

Caves are amazing, and interesting to learn about the history. Round quite quickly, about 40 minutes, mainly due to the kids hurtling through as quick as possible. Good rainy day activity. We arrived just before opening time and there was no queue, although reasonable one had formed by time we left.

It look us a while to find smugglers, Google didn't know where to enter. We went right to the top of the hill, overlooking the sea, then phoned them, facing the sea it was on the left side. It was good inside for the children with the figures in different settings. Unfortunately there was no toilets, because of covid-19 they said.

Great place to have a wonder for a good hour. The price I thought was fair considering what's there. Very good on the social distancing measures also. Highly recommended!!

Fun and educational way to spend a few hours, and an even better way to escape from the heat on a hot day. Staff are always super friendly and hairy Jack is quoted daily by me and my partner. Not sure what it's like when it's busy there at the moment, but was alot of fun when it was quiet.

A lot of local & south coast smuggler history. If you are visiting Hastings this is a great attraction to see. It doesn't take long to get round the cave tunnels and you'll have a tonne of smuggler facts under your belt.

I was positively surprised by this attraction. We went there during a very hot day so it was perfect as the caves are colder. Everything was very interesting and also beautiful. We really had a lot of fun there! The only thing was that some displays were closed because of COVID :/ Also the place close quite early so be sure to go there as soon as you can.

Awful place . Really run down Too expensive. And lots of things not open due to covid. Totally understand that covid cant be helped but maybe just a note on your booking page online so we could of made a decision before booking. Just a thought. When I mentioned this to 2 girls in the souvenir shop (after our trip lef us there)they seemed surprised we were not happy and actually laughed a bit. Anyway I'm not a grumpy person and always see the best in things but really come on get things sorted. Jo x

It's really good, informative and interesting but: - May not be ideal for small kids as it's dark and somewhat spooky, some references to death/ghosts - the website says there is no one that will jump out at you but towards the end there is a jail cell that is dark which will suddenly come to life and have someone rattling the bars with the lights on, scared my 6 year old big time. - don't visit if mannequins make you uncomfortable. Something I suffer with and there are loads of them later in the cave.

Great fun place, very atmospheric, with mannequins and lights to add to the experience. Due to Coronavirus some of the interactive activities are out of service, which is a shame, but there's still plenty to get on with. Friendly staff and good safety measures for Covid. Well worth a visit.

Caves are pretty awesome. The features as you go round are informative and interesting, if feeling a little dated. However everything was working properly during our visit, except for one feature. Reasonable value at £30 for a family of 4.

Caves are interesting and worth seeing. The “attraction” aspect of it is tired and outdated, and much of it either not working or roped off due to covid. Needs a renovation to make it more classy and show off the caves more. Lighting was rubbish: barely noticed the cave walls!

Experience was ok. Half of the attractions weren't available which I understand if that is because of the coronavirus epidemic but one of the buttons had been physically removed with just visible wires where it had been previously connected. Surely all the buttons should be removed if that's the issue? There was a lot of mold growing on the wall at the end. Just felt a bit run-down. Wouldn't reccomend

This is fantastic and very educational. You will not only enjoy fantastic adventure but also have opportunity to learn something about local and not so local history. Don't get scared... And if you lucky, you may even see a real ghost. Please "like" my review.

We loved it, once we actually FOUND IT!! Great place to visit but I have to say, it was a real struggle trying to find the place. We went to The Visitor Center, we tried using a map they gave us, we asked some local Merchants for direction, to no avail, we followed signs but in the end, we had to use our Google GPS and even then, it was still hard to locate the entrance but once we did, it was really great and we enjoyed it alot. Very fascinating hearing all about the tales of the Smugglers and actually being there, where it all happened, long long ago. 5 stars ( but seriously, you need to get better signage to locate it more easily, even when we talked to Personnel about our difficulties locating it, they said they hear that exact same thing all the time)

Great adventure for all the family. We went with our 10 yr old twins and all enjoyed it. Worth doing the 3 attraction ticket though to save money and make a day off it to the aquarium, Castle and caves

Amazing for the little ones. Brought my 2 year old and she loved it. Not too scary and very educational without becoming a snooze fest. Gift shop isn’t as overpriced as you’d think. Managed to get a pirate hat and sword for my little girl for £2.50! Staff are very friendly

Very informative place to see how the old days smugglers used to hide their wares. Dark in some place so you need a torch.

All I can really say was it was OK. The kids seemed to find it boring, a few more things for them to get involved with or a guided tour would have probably made it better. In all I'd say it takes around 45mins to get around the entire place. In my opinion if it's a nice day in hastings theres better things to do but if its raining not a bad place to kill some time and keep dry.

So badly out of date & run down. Most of the caves interaction was broken or closed due to covid yet still full price to go in. Even the toilets were closed! Feel robbed and sad to be honest :(

Visited today with my 11 & 17 year old as we were having a day in Hastings. Really not impressed, the AV was not working correctly in multiple locations. Many of the static displays were broken. The history is interesting, but for the price we paid, I would expect some basic maintenance at the very least.

Looks better on 'paper' than in real life. Not too much to see and information provided was not enough to learn about the different people involved. Due to covid, alot of the interactions were closed off. Would not go again.

Typical cave attraction. Provides a good look into local history. Fairly interactive too which makes it stand out over other cave systems.

I liked learning about how and where the smugglers hid their loot that they stole. Once you are in the cave, you will be about 40 feet underground. You will watch a projected video and then you can start exploring the caves. There lots of activities you can do in the caves as well. When you exit the caves, you will head to a gift shop.

Much too expensive for a family, even if they offer a family ticket, it's only for 2 adults plus 2 kids, every other kid pays extra and full price. Just caves! Done in less than an hour. Less value for money...
